Mobile phone deal websites (mobiles.co.uk & buymobilephones.net)
Hi,
My Virgin contract is about to expire so I'm going to switch networks for a better deal. I've seen some good offers on 2 sites: mobiles.co.uk & buymobilephones.net The reviews I've read for mobiles.co.uk seem almost universally bad, despite being owned by CPW, so I'm wary of using them (lots of issues about delays, faulty phones and poor CS). But buymobilephones.net seems a bit better. It's not a cashback deal or any kind of redemption, just straightforward new Note II on contract but I don't want to risk running into problems. Anyone have any experience of them, or anywhere else? Or maybe I should just pay a little bit more and go to CPW for peace of mind? |

Thanks, good to hear a thumbs up for them.
The deal I'm looking at from them is on 3 network for a Note II with 500mins, 5000txts and unlimited data for £31 per month (free handset). Does that sound an OK deal? An alternative from CPW is on O2 with unlimited mins, unlimited txts, 1GB data and £26 per month (handset £149). Both are 24 month deals but I'm probably more likely to benefit unlimited data rather than mins/txts. Just feel slightly more comfortable with CPW as they have a shop in town in case anything goes wrong. And then there's the pros/cons of 3 vs O2. All a bit confusing... any advice between networks and suppliers would be much appreciated (I'm based in South East) or should I look elsewhere? |

I've had 2 phones from mobiles.co.uk in the past and had no problems whatsoever. Phone was delivered the next day after I placed the order.
To be fair I didn't have to speak with customer services at all so cant really comment on that side of things but the order process and delivery was fine. |

Used mobiles.co.uk a few times and never needed to contact them - so all good for me.

I have used them all nearly at one time or other dependent upon deals and had no issues

Thanks all, that's promising to hear - I might reconsider mobiles.co.uk in that case.
Maybe it's just a case of people leaving bad reviews when things go wrong but not leaving good reviews when things go right

I used buymobiles.net in the summer although there was a bit of hassle on delivery (they told me the phone was in stock, then emailed me later that evening to say it wasn't, it arrived on the Monday rather than the Saturday) It was no big deal.
A lot of the reviews for these sites seem to centre around cash back/free gifts and not so much the phones themselves. People generally turn to the net to complain rather than praise. I wasn't interested in the gifts etc and got a really good deal, Free Galaxy S4 Mini on the right tariff with Orange for around £20 a month. As they are Derby County club sponsors I got a free Home Shirt in a promotion they had running which went straight on Ebay . |

Both my gf and myself upgraded through bumobiles.net back in August, her s4 mini went from in stock to out of stock and took an extra day for delivery (we ordered at the weekend and suspect they were too busy on the Monday to process it) I ordered an s4 on a Wednesday evening as a Tmobile upgrade - It was delivered the following morning. Both handsets are generic unlocked uk stock

Have you checked phoneslimited.co.uk this site compares these sites and helps you find the best deal. I use it quite often.

Thanks for the recommendation Steven L Hunter!
We've worked with both sites for a very long time and encounter very few problems from our customers using them. mobiles.co.uk is now owned by Carphone Warehouse but is run independently with 'keener' deals, the other sister site; e2save is run in a similar fashion and again offers bespoke pricing away from the other sites. Buymobilephones changed to buymobiles and have gone from strength to strength winning multiple customer satisfaction and industry awards. We have recently given the site a complete overhaul with a new design and advanced filters that we hope will help consumers find their perfect phone packages even easier. Many thanks again, Andrew PhonesLimited |

Also check out mobilephonesdirect.co.uk . They have very good deals too!
Remember to use Quidco as well for cashback! |

mobiles.co.uk - Financially unsound
I bought an iPhone SE from mobiles.co.uk (part of Carphone Warehouse) on an O2 contract.
When you clicked on the buy links, the advertised £60 upfront cost was actually £94.99. Still a decent price, so I bought. Now mobiles.co.uk have taken £95 from my account. Dodgy dodgy dodgy. And silly literal penny pinching! mobiles.co.uk don’t return complaint messages and are impossible to reach by phone. Carphone Warehouse say F-Off We don't care. Financially dodgy. Terrible service. Don’t care attitude. |
