Which artist do you just 'not get'?
Hi
Not sure if this has been posted before! But which artist do you just not get? And understand the popularity behind them? For me it's Emeli Sande, Adele and Robbie Williams. All of their music just bores me, and Robbie Williams could be the most irritating artist of all time to me! |

I have quite a long list
![]() P!nk : used to be a fan until her fourth album, but she's been rehashing the same sound for every single song she's released in the past 7 years. Usher : also used to be a fan, but his MJ immitations and generic music since 2010 has been a massive turn off and he usually messes up on stage now, looking and sounding awful. Beyonce : I may get attacked for this, but her music has always sounded second rate to me and her performances as of late (excluding the amazing Billboard Awards in 2010) have been predictable Alicia Keys : I was a fan of her first, second and fourth album, but her new stuff is boring (except for 'Fire We Make') and her vocals always sound strained to the point I can't watch her performances. Maroon 5 : boring songs, whiny vocals. Frank Ocean : his music puts me to sleep and I can't understand the appeal at all. Lil' Wayne : I just can't... Drake : His voice alone irritates me and his rhyming skills are not that good either. |

A lot of people are just listing artists which are crap, which isn't the same. it should really be acts you suspect are good but haven't clicked with.

For me it would have to be The Killers and Coldplay, both could a couple of decent songs but wouldn't be bothered if i never heard them again. I am a big rock music fan but i dont get them two bands at all

Muse. If you described Muse they're kind of everything I like in a band, but for some reason I don't click with their music.

Rita Ora. OK music but certainly not enough to be some big British popstar. She just doesn't have 'it' to me. She was Drake's support when I went to see him last year and from what I bothered to watch she had no stage presence, just jumping up and down shouting profanities to get the crowd's attention.
Emeli Sande as well. In fact any of the at least semi-successful UK acts of the last couple of years who release one album and are suddenly 'the representatives of British talent'. |

Adele -> her music is overrated and overplayed. If I hear Someone Like You once more I'll go mad. And why is she winning so many awards?
Emeli Sande -> vastly overrated. I don't see anything special about her and her music is fairly average, bland middle-of-the-road fare. I don't like the way she's shoved down our throats either and the Olympics performance is a good example Jessie J -> I like a couple of her songs but in reality she sounds like Natasha Bedingfield with slightly different music. I also don't like that screeching she does with her voice. Rita Ora -> just cheap and tacky, like a Poundland Rihanna. Most of her songs are very generic. One Direction -> just can't stand them. They annoy me so much. Talentless pretty boys who can't really sing. Conor Maynard -> I don't get the appeal of him at all. Is he trying to be Britain's Justin Bieber or what? Who does his music appeal to? Drake -> Why is he so popular? A pretty average rapper really. I think he's mostly known because he featured on What's My Name with Rihanna. Justin Bieber -> Don't see the appeal of him at all. Why the hell is he so popular? |

I do not see the appeal of Jessie J. Her music is bland and away from the mic she is quite irritating.

I do not understand Katy Perry's appeal. Most artists I don't like I can at least see why you would like them but for her I just don't get it.

Jessie J/Rita Ora/Pixie Lott - basically any young British female artist who is popular due to their looks and releases very generic and sub-par material.
Adele - NEVER got the hype at all. Ed Sheeran - I liked 'Lego House' and 'Drunk' a bit but his album was a snooze fest and I don't get how he's sold so many albums and everyone seems to adore him. Yawn. |

eg. Usher, I can understand why people find the MJ influence a little overbearing, I just choose to ignore that because I still do like quite a lot of his songs and his voice. I just avoid his performances and videos where he dances haha
