Windows 8 question
HI,
Just upgraded from Vista and although I'm not a complete novice with a PC, I'm struggling! ![]() I've downloaded Classic Shell and changed a few things, but I'm trying to change the taskbar layout. Say, if I wanted to open the same program twice (such as Wordpad), in Vista this would have given me two different icons on the taskbar. In W8, one icon appears and I have to switch between the two screens. Is there a way of changing this? |

Right click on taskbar, left click on properties and you should see in the taskbar tab about five down a option called taskbar buttons, then switch that from always combine to never combine.
Hope that is what you want. |

That's exactly it - much appreciated.

Glad it does what you want. TBH, i prefer it as it is, I like the combining and have done since windows 7. I thought vista combined as well, must have imagined it. |

It possibly did. My Vista machine was so old I probably asked the same question years ago
