nexus 7 - chrome update 27 feb
Anyone finding the latest update to chrome shocking?
The text is all blurred. The short cut icons are crap. |

You can uninstall the update. I did it and it fixed the blurred fonts but Chrome began to run really slow. I don't know what's up.

We are talking about removing the updates in the apps settings? Does that remove all the updates or just the last one?

It's not just on the Nexus that things have gone blurry. I don't know what they've done, but it's not good.

I think it may be all the updates as it said something returning the app to the factory installed version when I did it. But the blurry font was no use to me so I gave it a go.

I just checked. It returned to v 18.0.125469 A reboot fixed the speed issue. Phew. No more updating for me before checking the internet first!

It is pretty shit.
Good knows what has happened. It's not suitable for release. The version it replaces is pretty good. |

I was about to post about how my Nexus 7 seems slow when I click on a link in twitter to open in Chrome. I am guessing from this that Chrome is the problem. Think I will reset my setting to use the firefox browser instead.

i've gone back to 18 and disabled auto updates.
i assume the one you roll back to was the one in the ROM image for 4.2.2 which wasn't that long ago. |

Any updates on this? Surely the blurry text isn't the way it's meant to be? I'm reading reviews on google play with people praising the new font rendering as being easier on the eyes!!

Yeah they know about it. No explanation how it happened. But it was a bug in the beta for v25 which made it to release.
https://code.google.com/p/chromium/i...tail?id=174699 Lots of info if you follow the links. It's definitely a bug. People are just stupid. |

Ah great! Thanks for the links. It's just a matter of waiting until it's fixed before updating again then.

Yep. I don't know if it'll be fixed before 26 or not.
