Simon Cowell has said he’d love to come back to The X Factor UK!

The series is definitely in need of the music mogul’s Midas touch, having had a disappointing few years since his exit in 2011.

Simon, Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue all left the show in the same year to pursue a vareity of projects, with Simon launching the show in the USA.

Unfortunately the US series means Simon won’t be back this year, but he teased he’d definitely would love to back in 2014.

Assuming The X Factor is still going then, of course.

He said: “I would love to come back. I need to try and make it work.”

And Simon suggested that going back to basics, with just himself, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne back on the panel, could be a plan.

Simon blabbed: “I will have to wait and see, but it would certainly be very entertaining to be back with Louis and Sharon!”

Of course Simon would love to be back. He probably regrets the whole X Factor USA experience. In time there will be Internet articles, book chapters and possibly even TV documentaries why XFUS was a costly mistake.

The US just don't 'get' the X Factor like we do.

Well the contracts up this year, and if the brand does go beyond this series it will give them a chance to negotiate a date move i guess.

Is it because his British fanbase have walked away. He does not seem to be having much luck with his shows at the moment and that includes his new cookery themed programme. Oh dear, could not happen to a nicer chappier.

No offence Simon but I don't think you're wanted anymore. People have moved on, we all had hopes that you'd return but it's too late now. You chose the Americans over us, a shameful move and shows what you think of the people in your native country that actually MADE the tv format as successful as it is now/or was (season 9 was amazing, because of a group winning but season 10 was absolutely dire; now going downhill with changing judges every 5 seconds).
