No idea. It might even be them doing it. I don't have a dog, just thought it might be useful to somebody in that area.

Only trouble with dogs trust is that the nearest to Brum is in Evesham which is about 15/20 miles away from west heath park. I never knew they was doing that in West Heath park and I live near it (Northfield) Ah well thanks for the heads up

I would assume that most vets will be offering a free service before the chipping becomes compulsory in England, we had a free service from vets for 6 months last year just before chipping became compulsory here.

I personally prefer to pay a bit more for my vet to do it in a calm, familiar atmosphere.

We took our oldest dog to one of these cheap events, it was very crowded and the girl doing the chipping didn't have a clue, inserted it incorrectly, catching a blood vessel. This chip then failed a few weeks later (became undetectable).

I agree, best take your pets to someone who knows them in familiar surroundings, I got my dog done with a second generation chip which allows the scanner to pick up body temperature though it was more expensive @ 32 pounds.

Yes we are having Betty pup done when she is neutered so less stress for her, being so tiny even a grain of sand as they advertise it seems rather large to do with her awake !
