He has no reason to seek the sympathy vote - when he is the best skater. Talk about paranoia gone into overdrive.

Well given most of the public polls I have seen he is certainly not topping the public vote so he is going to have to do all he can to get people to vote for him. IMO that is the reason he is getting overmarked is to keep him in the show at the top of the board as his skating certainly isn't as good as the marks he is getting for it.

If anything, it could do them harm. As you say, Brianne has a habit of dating her DOI partners, then dumps them when she gets a new one, that, along with Matt's arrogance and cockiness, hopefully, will see them only get 3rd place, that will take the wind out of Matt's sails. Cannot believe Brianne is only 32, she looks way older.

Well that's a matter of opinion. Furthermore whilst some might think him the best skater he doesn't appear to be the most popular - and he'll need the public vote to lift the trophy.

Considering most of us had never heard of Matt before DOI and knew nothing of his love life what on earth makes him think we're sufficiently interested in his relationships to consider them a basis for our voting preferences? Of course he could have a adopted a dignified stance, kept his head down and put his energies into training - but wherein lies the advantage when there's publicity to be gained?

It appears to me that 'heart broken' Matt is not only angling for the sympathy vote but also setting up his excuses for possible failure next week. Lack of success won't be because he's up against a better competitor, nor because the conceit and OTT reactions that we've witnessed since the inception of the series have alienated viewers: oh no! It will be because he's been branded a love rat.

It must be tough for all of them in that show, Matt has agreed in his own case, didn't say he's had it worst.
