Slayer are in my bad books at the moment due to their handling of the Dave Lombardo sacking.

Kerry King = total ******.

It's all the mainstream crap that's clogging up the forums. Metal hardly ever gets a look in on here, so thanks for this thread. Listening to The Antichrist at the moment. Oh, it's just finished. I'm onto Behind the Crooked Cross

Isn't there some sort of financial dispute behind that? Lombardo saying that band members had been cheated out of money over the years?

couldnt agree with you more, i know dave doesn't contribute songwise, but reign in blood would be **** all without his drumming, possibly the best drummer i have ever seen.

Get the feeling kerry gets more money than the rest and didnt want his boat rocking

from what read, and i have no reason to disput what lombardo said, management take 90% of all tour takings, leaving 2.5% per band memeber, lombardo wanted it looked into and king sacked him

Owwww....my ears! Sorry, can't listen to Disciple - it's the shouting. Actually it's not 'can't' listen, more a case of 'don't want to'.

Yep, what dodger said.

A new Mike Patton album is out (Tomahawk: Oddfellows). Who needs Slayer anyway?

Does that mean I win? Tbh, the other day, you went straight for the one song that's probably least representative of what they usually sound like.

Yes! I like that one. The drumming's f*cking amazing! \m/

I think I just have a problem with Araya's voice tbh. I don't like the shouting & when he sings he just sounds like a thousand other metal voices. Although, I guess he was one of the first ones to actually sound like that. Not sure if that's a plus or a minus though.

you are probably right, he was the first i heard do it, but he has a lot of melody and on south of heaven album he sings a bit. He is nowhere as bad as some though, think slayer just stick with me from being a teenie

Well, it doesn't seem to have done them any harm. After all, they've sold millions worldwide & there they still are, after 30 years. They must be doing something right

tbh, I wasn't into metal back then. It's a recent development with me. here's another one you might like Screaming Eagles

Iron Maiden appear to be timeless - attracting new fans all the time. My daughter loves them & she's only 15.

Well I know Reign in Blood and I was listening through the various Slayer vids on YouTube. And I was thinking I know it's thrash metal but bands like Slayer can actually play and so given a standard they could play it.....and then I get this abomination...Slayer's version of Born To Be Wild

Time for a rethink!
