I think Matt is a good skater, but he annoys me every time he gets through & blately obvious that he is the Judges favourite, I really want Gareth or Beth to win.

Why would they favour any contestant.

He's good as is Beth and Gareth (normally). Matt was the best tonight. As for Luke, I'm surprised he's still there.

Plus on the DOI facebook sure I saw a comment somewhere about him having played ice hockey before that seems to have been conviently omitted from his prior experience. Could be wrong but sure I saw that there somewhere on there but given the page is crazy just now can't really check.

If true then he has had an unfair advantage in terms of having skating experience and would explain the posture etc and grrrr I just don't want him to win please please GBP have sense and don't vote for him.

Don't get all this nonsense regarding Matt. He is the best performer of the four - so therefore deserves the best score. It is supposed to be a skating competition - not a popularity contest.

I don't judge him on whether I like him as a person, I don't know him - but he gives the most confident and professional performances - and is the best in the competition. Some people can't seem to separate their like/dislike of someone from their performance in the show.

exactly! I am not impressed with Jason especially as he never gave Sam Attwater a 10 and dropped him half a mark in the final because a lift didn't move around as fast as he wanted ?

Matt is obviously the best though tbh. I don't want him to win though, I think it would be a bit ridiculous to have exactly the same type of winner 3 years in a row.

So because he used to be in a soap he shouldn't win.

No he shouldn't win because he isn't as good as either he or other people seem to think he is and he is a cocky arrogant so and so who has thought he has had it in the bag since the beginning which I hate I prefer someone with a modicum of humility and humblessness about them which Beth appears to have in bucketloads and seems very much lacking in Matt it is also lacking in Luke and at least Gareth does show some humbleness on occasion.

If he won he wouldn't be able to get out of the studio, his head would be soooo big! He isn't a nasty person or anything, but my god he is arrogant and cocky, he is so sure he is going to win, and yes, the judges are soo bias towards him, he made mistakes tonight, yet still got 10's Beth never made a mistake and didn't get 10's.

I really hope Beth wins.

In a competition like this I don't care whether he is 'cocky' or 'arrogant' (being confident does not necessarily make him so) - he is the best skater and he moves very well.

I enjoy watching his performances because he always does them so well. I couldn't care less about his personality.

To judge him on other things - just makes a mockery of the show.

I find he lacks elegance and finesse. His posture is very poor. He's also very curate's egg, in that he's good in parts, but lacking in others, ie his fast, routines with an 'urban' style are okay, but he's not good at slow and lyrical.

I actually find Beth more rounded.

Think I'm watching a different show from most on here.

Personal taste is a funny thing. Lots of people here seemed to like Ray but I couldn't stand watching him. Chris Fountain was probably my fave ever celeb but I think Matt is really good too.

Chris Fountain had ice hockey experience too.

I reckon he might have been in the skate off with Gareth. It was a bit iffy truth be told, could the judges not just vote based on the overall skater? Matt would have been saved anyway :/

yes and Chris was very open about it from the start, it was a feature of his first VT

Matt's skating style is typical ice hockey player ... if this was his first go at skating he wouldn't have been taught to skate the way he does so he seems to have brought those habbits with him

I think he is by far the best this year, I'm not sure if I like his personality all the time, but I think he skates faster and performs better than the others.

The comment about being the best male celeb doing the flying annoyed me a bit as I'm sure if it was Matt vs Ray, Ray would win.

I don't feel that Matt is as good as Ray and Chris Fountain, but I don't know whether I maybe just cared a little more about the show when they were on.
