Looks like the BBC have finally listened to what viewers really want in the openings titles. Here is a first look at the 2013 opening titles sequence, which might still be subject to change

I suspect they disliked because it wasn't funny. Your leap to infuriation suggests confirmation bias, which in turn suggests deliberate trolling.

Tedr-No, it was a light hearted thread with an alternative take on the Doctor Who title sequence. Some people will find it amusing and fun and, as we have seen some fans will take it all too seriously.

It was just a bit of fun, wasn't it? Not that it matters, but I didn't think it was trolling.

Maybe I'm more easily amused by the rather excellent thought of Julian Clary as the master than others.

edit: just checked your first post last year and it would appear I found that amusing too. it must be because I have an exquisitely intellectual and sophisticated sense of humour. Probably.

On the contrary, the spectrum isn't — as you assert — from 'people who can take a joke and therefore find it funny' to 'people who can't take a joke and are infuriated'.

Another way of phrasing it would be that having a sense of humour doesn't mean finding everything hilarious.

Well I am glad some people found it amusing and a fun take on the title sequence. When you click into the thread it does say in the title that it is an alternative take on the titles.

In all seriousness though, whether you found the clip funny or not, Julian would actually make a convincing Master and James would actually make a great Doctor, so there was actually some substance in this.

In the meantime, I will get round to 'stringing myself' up later, to keep that poster happy.
