WhyHelloWorld

Gareth couldn't remember skating or something? :O What happened?

He had to withdraw as his motion sickness got to bad and he wasn't unable to perform therefore Luke, Beth and Matt are the final 3

He was told not to fly by doctors as it was making him sick. He skated once, then felt very ill and couldn't perform again, so he's been withdrawn from the competition leaving the other 3 to go through automatically.

Apparently at one point Gareth couldn't remember what he had just done and he couldn't even come back on to say goodbye and thanks etc.

In training he couldn't remember having skated one time. We initially thought he was suffering really bad motion sickness after flying, but by all accounts - reading on here - there seems to be more going on than just motion sickness. Also apparantly he suffered a stroke some years ago as a result of a neck injury; being hit in the neck while playing rugby. I'm not saying that has any bearing but it does seem likely, not so much the stroke as such but perhaps the injury to the neck - that's just my thoughts.

It sounds far more serious than motion sickness. Motion sickness doesn't make you forget something you've just done. They said he couldn't remember skating tonight - that is serious.

That's my feeling too. During the week he was having bad pains in the top of his head which I think is worrying, especially if he's previously had a stroke. I think he should have pulled out then and seen a doctor not tried to perform on Saturday. I can understand why he tried to go on though, but it's not worth risking his health.
