This show has become such a joke, its clear Matt is doing terrible in the voting, so they mark him up to keep him in!

If all of the celebrities except Matt went out and skated 40 worthy routines they would still mark them down in order to keep Matt top, absolutely sickening

I thought Beth's flying routine was brilliant. She really deserved 10s for that in comparison to what Matt does to get a 10.

The only thing that Matt did that was so special was the lift of his partner off the ice. However, there have been plenty of others in the past who would have been capable of that - they just weren't allowed to in the past. These days, they are needing to get edgier and more dangerous to have an impact.

Personally, I thought Beth's was much more graceful and better performed.

Matt has far more exuberance and showmanship and is not
just doing gymnastics to music albeit Beth is graceful.

If the public are voting for Matt then obviously they like him
no matter what the judges say.

Matt has been in the skate off yet Beth hasn't. Beth has sometimes got too many tricks in her routines but that's down to T&D not her. When she has skated in her routines like tonight & the leveller/solo spot she has been fantastic - a better & cleaner technical skater IMO.

I'd expected an amazing flying routine from Beth as she's a gymnast but was disappointed as her performance didn't have the timeless quality of Suzanne's or Ray's balletic-style flying.

Beth was too careful and controlled and never seemed able to let go unlike Suzanne or Ray IMO.

While Beth was very graceful in her flying routine i didn't think she was any better than Matt ,i thought for the flying they was on a par with each other But in there other routine Matt was better

Yet Robin thought it was good enough for a 10.

I agree. Yes Matt can skate fast and do a good dance routine after a fashion but his posture leaves a lot to be desired and his footwork not so clean.

Matt will win, not happy about it!, but its been set that way since the first week!.

Mat looked so awkward, moving on the ropes, and landing and taking off and the judges said it was so smooth. Why don;t we get to watch the same performance as the judges. In the broadcast version he was unsteady at times.

I have to agree with those who say the judges are over marking him to keep him high in the voting, i definately dont think he is picking up a lot of votes from the public(obviously i dont know just a hunch)... also i thought on the semi-final it went to the public vote in other years i maybe wrong but if not the cynic in me thinks it was to save him if needed back to the OP'S question , yes Beth was by far better(IMO) but the judges thought different and picked Matt again.......

Like they have done for the past 9 weeks?, I find it astounding how they went on about Matt 'best male flying ever' , so the likes of Chris Fountain and Ray Quinn are so easily forgettable, why do they insult us with their short term memories??

I think this is just a matter of opinion. Beth wasn't "clearly" better. I personally thought Matt's routine was better. But hey ho, we all like different things.

Both very good, but Matt edged it for me. ..exciting routine.

What was exciting about watching him dangle from wires with his mouth open, some of his facial expressions were very off putting.

I believe this to be the case as well. I can't think of any other reason for them to be showing such blatant favouritism. He even fell over in a skate off and was saved, really if you fall over then it should be curtains. I remember John Barrowman falling in series one and they sent him home, despite him being the better skater.

Matts routine was the best of the series so far by a long way. It had character, moves and performance.

Seriously??, his transitions from ice to air were awfully clunky, his posture is so hunched and what exactly was the 'character' he dangled from the air with his mouth open with a smug grin , hardly 'performing' when he is just doing his normal personality that comes across and the 'moves' quite easy to do a backflip when you're suspended in mid air. I felt it was terrible, boring, lacking in any substance and no where near 10 worth 6.0-7.0 at a push

It's got to the point where Beth probably won't get a 40.0 now because Karen will always give her a 9.5 no matter what Last night she marked Matt, Luke and Gareth the same or 0.5 higher than Robin but she marked 0.5 lower than him for Beth which is unlike her. It's so transparent.

It's not surprising, she knows that Beth is the biggest threat to her little golden boy

His performance was more smoke and mirrors than real convent.

However, it appears from the fawning comments made, especially by Robin and Karen that he is already the champion.

Certainly, he is competent, but he is not in any way, shape or from, outstanding.

Matt's routine had personality and a pretty high level of technical excellence as well. Beth's routine had a high level of technical excellence and...oh, yeah...that's it.

And no, 'gurn haters', that's not just about facial expressions. If it were feasible to chop Matt and Beth's heads off and get them to skate those routines again, you'd have ended up with exactly the same judgements. Matt performs with every muscle in his body. Beth skates with every muscle in hers and, very occasionally, tries to convey some sort of expression in her face.

As a Gareth supporter I am supremely disinterested in the result now, but I am honestly fascinated by the absolute slating Matt's getting when he seems to have done very little wrong except perform to a high standard.
