No wow routine this year :(

This year for me there has been no wow routine such as Jai Ho.

Several of the skaters have had the capability to deliver one but haven't this year - is it purely down to focusing on the tricks, or is it down to poor choreography?

We havent seen a Wow performance since Laura's 'I'm so Excited' routine. That was fantastic!

If you compare the worst of Laura's routines to the bea of this series, Laura still wins.

She really was robbed, if she had of been in this series, suzannes series, Gaynors series or last year she would have won

I think they have upped their game in terms of their own performances in the past few shows, perhaps in response to some of the criticism towards them. Of course the special effects have helped, but I think they have also been skating faster and with more moves and tricks than I've seen them do in a while.

I completely agree - it was captivating.

The closest to a 'wow' performance was probably Beth's Clown.

That begs the question - which performances are they going to re-do in the final? My guess is Matt'll do A Change Is Gonna Come, Beth will do Clown and Luke will do Little Things.

You really think that Laura could have beaten both Suzanne Shaw AND Chris Fountain???

Sadly I agree with the first post, but let's not write it off yet... 'Singing In The Rain' was, for me, the undisputed high point of last year's series. Maybe we will get something really special in the final?

Actually thinking about it, IMO the closest we've had to a 'wow' routine this year was the week when Matt & Brianne skated to that classical piece... and ended up in the skate-off. No accounting for taste I suppose!

Every series has usually had one stand out performance but this year has been extremely lacking. I've enjoyed the series but nothing has really wowed me this year.

Colin's lack of choreography experience lost it for Laura.

Didn't help, but she started out in trouble with the vote and only beat Sam in it 3 times. By the final there's the nonsensical showdance idea where he's got Footloose which is a dance number, and writes itself, and she's then up against the one really good routine from that series thats a vote magnet, in Riverdance. Its not only well known and liked, but the routine and steps write themselves, so no one could make it look dull. He wins by a 63-37 margin.

Sam certainly wasn't a Chris, but Laura was nothing like as good as Suzanne.

Which only would've come out when they had to choreograph Bolero.

Sam won by a huge margin therefore its not as though the Bolero was a tipping point of the contest.

I have to agree with you both - I should have said the final nail in Laura's coffin.

For some reason she just didn't engage the public. I was a fan so I never understood why.
