First thoughts after the first performance of Bad Boys?
After the success of the Leona thread, here's Alex's. Other winners and runner ups to follow.
SO what did you think? I was very very impressed. I had no idea she was coming back, I only caught the video by chance on ITV2, so it all took me aback. I loved her vocals, dress and the moves too. Very polished. |

I remember being massively impressed with it, never expected it to be so slick and polished. I don't think I had seen her new hairstyle either at that point, so that added to it as she was looking incredible too. She really is the best 'pop star' to come from the show.

I hadn't seen anything so I was hyped. I was proud too!! And the little snap she did at the end. Shame Syco didn't use the song more promo wise. It could've done a lot better and gone further. |

I only saw the medley she did with JLS, I thought it was pretty good.

The JLS medley she did where they sang each others' songs was clever and pretty cool

I remember watching the performance and just thinking what a long way she had come in such a small amount of time. She had the first performance on the new studio stage, and seeing her with the army of dancers etc was amazing....
I agree with the others saying that she is the best popstar to come from the show, she has the perfect balance of vocals and performance skills. I think the Bad Boys performance and FFTL from Cheryl are some of the best displays of dancing ever seen on the show. Alex definitely rocked the stage, especially with live vocals. It does make me a bit sad though, because RCA clearly didn't (or couldn't) invest in her. Bad Boys and Overcome were so polished because they had Syco, Epic, RocNation and Sony all throwing their weight behind it, and it was a success as a result. I'd love her to get back to that. |

I remember being really impressed and thinking a big YES we have another star. In fact I really loved Overcome the album. I just wish that Alex went over to the States with Bad Boys & Overcome. In fact, I still wish Alex would record an album for the American market, and hopefully this will happen sooner rather than later.

I never liked Alexandra during the show, but her first performance totally won me over. It was a fantastic performance, vocally and choreography wise. I remember watching it, preparing to be underwhelmed and from the minute she walked out onto the stage, she just owned the entire performance. She came on as a popstar, ready made and good to go.
I completely agree that she is the best "popstar" winner they've ever had. She had everything in that performance. |

I supported her through x factor but that bad boys performance was the time where I thought my god she is a pop star, she owned the stage.... I remember the buzz from that performance! Bigger performances suit her, was just impressed. Not seen a British pop star perform aswell as her live and dance wise in a while!

As for the performance I loved it. And at the end Dermot said something like "and next week we have our very own Cheryl Cole on stage" and I thought 'god, after Alex's performance that'll be crap' but then next week came and hers was amazing too! It was the first time I had heard both of the songs too so that made it even better

I was really nervous when Bad Boys premiered, I absolutely loved the track. It was impressive because this type of song hadn't been attempted by a previous winner or contestant and it was pop perfection at its best. A stellar debut single. So she had to deliver with the performance, the choreography blew me away entirely. And she worked that stage effortlessly! I was amazed and that just made me love her more.

Watching that performance makes me sad. It reminds me how horribly HOH was handled and how the British Media turned on her so quickly. It could have been so different..

Yeah, Louis has been horrible to her ever since she won, which is why I was glad that she shut him up when she became a guest judge on the show. I don't think he ever really liked her tbh.

I remember thinking how good she was at singing and performing and definitely thought we'd finally found our own Beyonce! Bad Boys was such a fantastic song, could have done so much more had it been pushed in other territories! The Overcome album in general is the album Syco should have used to launch her global career but they didn't! Such a shame.
