Although I love Vikings, the whole Chinese angle just doesn't fit in, and so out of place. I understand that it's not meant to be historically correct, however the Chinese being in Europe during that period of history, is just too far fetched. With the character being, a Chinese princess no less, making it even more less plausible. Understandably it's mostly fiction based on history, however having some historical context is more acceptable than fabricating it. That's what makes this series successful, is it references the Vikings realistically and loosely around history, but in line with what the world was then.
If they really wanted to foreign character, I think it would have been better to have a character from the middle east or Turkey maybe. |

Just watched season 4 episode 5 on Amazon prime and the Chinese woman taken from Paris (resists strong urge for obvious) has really grown on me. She is just so lovely and brings back childhood memories of Noggin the Nog and his Eskimo princess Nooka of the Nooks. OK she may be a somewhat improbable find in 9th Century Paris but I'm not caring anymore. Let's face it this series has never been a history lesson. Anyway the scene in the bathtub makes me rather doubtful she'll last long enough to see series 4 out, let alone contribute to the Viking sagas. And despite her martial prowess I do find my feelings for the lovely Lagertha have somewhat declined since she returned from the Paris expedition.
I was wondering if Vikings is censored for the History channel? Consistently excellent series throughout - if you don't mind all the sex and violence. |

Watching on Prime and this series just gets better and better. Things not going well for our Ragnor at the moment. Shame about that shopping expedition to Paris ladies.

I enjoy this. Hardly historically accurate but very watchable with some great scenes on the water and in battles and also believably dirty if nothing else. Everything in fact that that The Last Kingdom production was not.

Well it sort of is. Rollo is the founder of the Normans, the name came from Norse men. So he founded Normandy, which is the way its heading at the moment.
One of the many things that keeps me watching Vikings is the writers ability to twist better than Chubby Checker. But still not sure why Bjorn didn't just kill of Horick's kid when he Kew about the ring. What was he waiting for? |

So someone somewhere else said the girl who was dead in the water was Bjorns child. He is going to be super pissed with Aslaug when he gets back, I hope he kills her because she has gone downhill fast. I am wondering how she was killed and who did it though.

I dunno. Bjorn didn't seem to give a crap about little Siggy before.
Aslaug is such a bitch, though. I've never liked her anyway, but she's really awful now. |

Maybe not but I hope it gives him a reason to kill Aslaug.

Well, that time jump was quite jarring and Ivar is certainly the most noticeable of the boys to men.

Historically, he's the successor, but who knows how they'll play it. Yes, the jump was jarring, but by the end of I was keen on the idea. Except for the problem of homicidal blokie (the other king with the facial tattoos) he definitely wanted to replace Ragnar, so what happened to him?
Maybe his friend dying in Paris caused him to go back to his home instead, i'm sure we will see him again with Ragnar back. |

They'd better not have killed off Lagertha!
I wasn't expecting that time jump. Has anyone else been finding the stuff in Frankia and Wessex more interesting than the actual Viking stuff? |

They took their time getting there, but the slow build up was worth it.

I knew it was coming but Linus Roache sold it and made me sad, his acting was phenomenal.
