This was due to Rick Berman being sidelined, with Manny Coto given Executive Authority for the series. Enterprise also featured Scott Bakula, always enjoyable since Quantum Leap, and Connor Trineer who subsequently featured within Stargate Atlantis, and within a later episode, Peter Weller.

Another series worth catching is Odyssey 5, also Produced/Created/Written by Many Coto, and starring Peter Weller.

I am not convinced that a false war between Star Wars, Star Trek and Dr Who is worthy of attention.... a recent graphic novel featured a crossover between Star Trek TNG and Dr Wh, linking the Borg and Cybermen within the series.

Of course, the post 2005 Dr Who series bears no relation to the original series. However, within the Sylvester McCoy reign, some attempt was made to create a more complex mythology for the character, the assertion being that Dr Who was Merlin.”

Seriously? Again with this drivel...

Aside from the constant references to past Doctors, stories and companions, of course the post 2005 show is completely different. (it's unfortunate the roll-eyes smiley has to have an actual smile on it).

What really gets me is s/he has never once even explained what s/he means by that? As though it's a shared delusion...

Utterly remarkable, you are quite correct!

What if we find out that The Valeyard (Michael Jayston from 1986) has been in disguise as the Doctor all along and we get a regeneration and he's revealed. That would be a shock! What would happen next?

About 90% of the audience will scratch their heads in confusion, switch off and won't come back for the next series, that's what would happen.

Think it will be him returing to "life" after the fake out in utah. He knew it wouldn't last forever.
He has to face his past and his future while trying to keep his freinds and the rest of the universe safe. No pressure there then !.

I think you're right Sara_P.

Moffat's "reveals" are usually easy to guess but he blows them up out of proportion. Again, it's the fandom on-line who create marvelous and wonderful ideas (some unworkable), but hugely imaginitive.

Given the secret that we all know is : "he's dead", his cover will be blown. And, erm, I really think that's it.

His greatest secret is that he is not part human but almost entirely human, as are the rest of the timelords. He has been unwittingly darting about through many different timelines to ensure that eventually an unremarkable biped that originated from an unremarkable sun got to fulfil their destiny as his ancestors and ermm greatest power in the universe.

I've wondered for a long time if, ultimately, the Timelords developed/evolved (call it what you will) from us. It would certainly help explain (in story) the Doctor's fascination with us and this planet.

It's quite remarkable, what with all of time and space to choose from, that he keeps coming back here, to this dust speck, orbiting an ordinary star in the outer fringes of a rather unremarkable spiral galaxy.

Maybe the problem is that we're confusing 'greatest' and 'biggest'? If he secretly plans to give free chocolate to all viewers on the 50th then that'd be pretty great.

It has took them nearly 50 years to get round to it. Answering the question which is possibly the oldest question in the universe hidden in plan sight. Meaning as he is "only" a 1000+ change it was set in motion even before he was born. Maybe he was allways destined to be "the doctor". Remember what dorium shouted at him 3 times as he walked out of that cave in TWORS "doctor who ?".There's a clue for you sherlock!.

And after all these countless millennia have passed since the beginning of the universe, the answer will be:
