I would like him to come back, but I sadly can't see it happening.

They should have just had last night's performances voted for by the public. This would have been fairer on him and it would have been more likely for him to go through, after he was put at the bottom of the leaderboard from only being able to do one performance. I understand that he's feeling better now, so he would surely have been able to carry on rehearsing for the routines he would have done in the final.

I wonder who else was in the SO with Gareth.

If it were up to me, I'd have eliminated the lowest-placed person after the combined vote, because that seems logical when no SO can take place (and I'm sure they have dropped to public vote only before the SF before now).

But if Matt was bottom....

I think it was Matt.

I think he should come back. He says that he feels better today. It will be on for two hours anyway. They should allow everyone to skate first and then eliminate the bottom two on final night

Is that wishful thinking? I wonder if you may be right though and that's why they didn't bother mentioning who else would've been in the SO

Matt had 4 points, Beth 3, Luke 2 and Gareth 1, so if the vote went:

Matt 4 + 1 = 5
Beth 3 + 4 = 7
Luke 2 + 3 = 5 (bounce back vote?)
Gareth 1 + 2 = 3

Then it would be a Matt/Gareth bottom 2 with Matt Eliminated on public vote alone.

I hope they release the voting for this week, I'm really curious

Why should be come back? He may feel better today but may not be ok tomorrow or the next day
Also the show has a schedule to run to they can't just slot an extra person it wouldn't work
He is out now so why can't people just accept that?

He might feel better today but what if he has a relapse? What if he suddenly feels wobbly in a lift etc that is then putting Robin at risk. Plus if he states he couldn't remember doing something do you want him to have the pressure of learning a new routine (probably the showcase again) practising whatever other routine they choose, plus Bolero.

Add in there would be the potential worry factor of what if it happened again as he was suddenly that ill afer just skating. I doubt the shows medics would want him to skate until he has been fully checked out by proper doctors both for his own sake and for their own insurance purposes. If it is something more serious than just (and I don't mean that trivially) motion sickness then it may be too risky to let him continue regardless of whether he feels better today or not he still has to be fully medical checked and as sad as is it for Gareth fans it is better that he is out of the show rather than potentially endangering his health further.

Just because he feels better doesn't necessary equal him being better though.

I may be remembering wrong, but didn't Gareth suffer a mini-stroke after a horror tackle which injured his head?

He did it was due to punch to his jaw initially I believe. He was apparently told by the doctors if he injured his neck again there was a risk of another more serious episode.

I'm wondering if going upside down he has jerked his neck which has maybe triggered a chain reaction and the best thing for him right now is to stay off of the ice and get checked over properly

This is the recent article that he has done that mentions it

I think it's almost certain Luke was bottom in the public vote & I'm sure Gareth would have got a big sympathy vote. I think it went like this

Matt 4+2 = 6
Beth 3+3 = 6
Luke 2+1 = 3
Gareth 1+4 = 5

I think that's the likeliest order, I just hope we get to see the votes.

An article at the time, he was also on TV the night before his mini stroke, and this might well have head something to do with it.

I do agree that he needs to get himself checked out.

I agree with all that.
