Hi Pet Monkey!

He does sometimes seem to have some contrasting traits, yes. It's most likely due to how he has to manage his ADHD. But I think it just makes him even more interesting!
Hi Daisy.

It certainly coloured his Strictly performances. I ended up feeling that the judges were being unfair in insisting on getting him to act. They couldn't know how much was asked of him in making those demands.

His more reticent dances, in my opinion, were much more potent than the ones the judges liked. Eg I loved his Paso. My favourite of his. So odd and withheld and unusual but I really didn't like his Charleston (sorry to say) which had the judges drooling. Bear in mind that I know nowt about dance it's just the feeling of the thing...

I completely relate to what you're saying, Pet Monkey. I also thought his Paso was magnificent and very much in keeping with his slightly reserved personality. I actually loved his haughty expression during the ballroom dances!
I thought his Charleston was fun to watch but I think it came more naturally to him the second time he performed it in the final.
His dancing really touched me (as I'm sure it did alot of people) and I didn't care whether he was technically perfect or not. (And I believe he was! )

He seems so soft-spoken and shy! He really is an unusual character for someone so 'out there' in performance terms.
Louis is a perfect bundle of contradictions, yes, and that is one reason why I will follow and engage with his life and career with passionate interest, both on this thread and "in real life" too! I am sure that there will always be surprises through the coming years as he matures and develops other facets of his character. His complex personality intrigues me. I cannot stand bland, shallow people.

Pffffft! The blue plaid suit is just on the dividing line between cool and Leo Sayer!! On balance, I like it. Or rather i like him for wearing it. It takes a particular kind of man to pull that off. (eg put Anton in it and he'd look like one of Ronnie Corbett's golfing buddies)

Hey, I used to love Leo Sayer! I was about 6 at the time though Agree with you about his Paso, it was a thing of beauty. Really loved the Charleston too (which is a dance I usually hate) apart from his facial expression at the end which is definitely forced and a tad cringe worthy Much better second time round.

Fab pics from tonight Daisy

Oh Monkey!!! Well, as no-one has asked my opinion, I'll give it.....I think Louis suits that suit to a T (tee - get it?) because both are quirky and a one-off (I hope). The pattern would swamp me and I'd be made to lie down so that people could play a strange game of draughts on me. Louis, you are so idiosyncratic!

Even better third time around, in my opinion. Have always agreed about the Paso but we now know that the script called for a putting down of that dance and corresponding under-marking.

I'm starting to think you just like people with initials LS.

I'm going to be honest, last year I was supporting Kimberley so I watched that Paso with covert 'go on... fall over!' feelings, but at the same time I was mesmerised by its weirdly offhand intensity. When at the end the judges were hard-faced about it I was amazed, and on Louis's side for the first time.

Was going to ask... The colours are subdued, the checks are LOUD. Yep, a bundle of contradictions.

BBC audio interview with Luke Carson today - for Colliefan and anyone else interested. There is extant a video of Luke sustaining his devastating injury but it's way too upsetting and distressing to post here.

Here's one from earlier this year that I can't remember seeing. Apologies if already posted.
