But surely there's a difference in that you can actually see a systemic problem that caused the economic downturn, whereas there's no evidence to suggest that there are a huge number of families out there like Philpotts' (that I've seen, anyway).

That site looks like a Tory love-in, though, so it makes sense that they wouldn't like Jones, anyway (especially re: welfare).

LBC spin-off threads have never previously been included. Nobody knows who the Foamarmeister is. Honestly! Martin, chin and I all blame each other but don't actually believe it. There have been many theories about previous posters but whoever it is is remarkably modest and adept at remaining anonymous. You must just hope that s/he reads your appeal. I guess it depends on how sophisticated the software is. You can check your daily tally here:

I thought it was more a, "how come the poor can afford to give money to charities, when they are on benefits. That means the benefits are too generous," kind of show.

(For some reason the 'quote' facility is not working on your post, I have had to put it in manually.)

I believe there are two types of disabled people. Those that have their own vehicles, who would have their blue badge permanently in view in their car. There are those that rely of lifts from friends / relatives, that bring their card with them, and it is put up when they arrive.

Obviously those on permanent display are easier to spot. However, in both cases if they arrive at a disabled bay(s) and there is not a space they would hover there until a space becomes available. If they are able to park at a distance from the store then presumably they don't need the badge.

Seeing as I was banned for calling a presenter "a twit," anything is possible.

Martin, with the best will in the world, this post is ignorant, in the truest sense of the word.

You're making all sorts of assumptions that you have no right or basis to make.

Just stop parking where you shouldn't - end of story. You're wrong on this.

Wheelchairs!

If I am reading your remark correctly then this is precisely the kind of attitude displayed by able bodied people who think it is acceptable for them to park in disabled bays.

Example (A true story)

I drove my disabled MiL to hospital for an appointment. I found a disabled bay and parked.

I removed MiL in wheelchair from the disabled vehicle and pushed her towards the winding ramp that goes down a very steep gradient to the hospital entrance.

When we got to the ramp we found that someone in a big 4 X 4 had parked right across the path so we had to double back and go the VERY LONG way round to the hospital entrance.

All of this in a very cold winter time.

This is why I DETEST any able bodied person who think it is acceptable for them to park in disabled bays.

Are people really bothered about who posts most on this thread? Surely, it's the quality of the posts that matter not the number of posts. Personally, I find it all very cliquey and creates a heirachy that puts new posters at a disadvantage.

Just saying, don't hate me for it.

It's just a bit of fun, something that adds to the gaiety of life, and gawd knows we could do with that. As new posters are automatically added to it, they are immediately enfolded in the tender embrace of Foamardom - whether they like it or not!

Anyway.

Whenever I hear Owen Jones on LBC I run screaming from the room.

I would reply more fully to this post but if I did someone would no doubt set the DigitalSpy police on to me. However, if you read the article, where they have quoted Owen Jones (as opposed to the biased commentary) quite a bit of what he said makes a lot of sense.

Would somebody who is more computer savvy than me (that's pretty well everybody) explain what a URI is - or could it be URL?
I googled it and came up with urinary infection which I don't think my computer has.

I want to vote in the Sony Awards and for some reason this information is required.
I have a Mac - perhaps they don't have it.

And yes I do feel a complete fool for asking..................

A URL is a Uniform Resource Locator, or in more common parlance, a web page address.

LOL urinary infection !

Uniform Resource Locator - that makes it clear doesn't it ?

It is the bit on the title bar that begins http:// in other words it shows the location of the web page.

Some don't have http:// though! eg this thread is forums.digitalspy.co.uk but whatever is there is your URL.

(Now go and have a pee with this extra knowledge !!!!!)

Edit: Okay Nessun's is a simpler explanation to mine!

My last comment on this as it's off topic and the forum snitch is probably reading this.

I think it may be fun for people who have been posting on here for a long time and feature highly in the league table (and I include myself in this) but it risks setting ourselves up as an elite group of regulars rather than as a forum welcoming of new comers.

I'm a long time lurker to the thread but only recently started posting a bit, as Steve would say "I really couldn't give a flying forex about it"

I have never set the DigitalSpy police on anybody quite the contrary!

It is the way Owen Jones behaves and his arrogant attitude that I detest.
He could be talking completely rationally but if he behaves like a boor then I treat him as such.
This applies to his behaviour on Sky's Press Preview where even the newsreaders get fed up with his behaviour.

Thank you radio dad.
In my defence I did think it was possibly that but I could not understand why Sony needed this information.
