My goodness, it's definitely spring on this thread, with all the talk of gardens, sun, bees and strawberries!

Think I should take a lead from you guys. I've never been an outdoors person......and have now been told by my GP that I have a severe deficiency of vitamin D ('the sunshine vitamin' ). He's put me on a high strength supplement and I have to say I feel better already . Placebo effect, anyone?

The Village is on tonight, by the way, if you can stand the grit. And episode 7 of Broadchurch tomorrow. Haven't watched so much TV for ages.

Love to everyone, Lindy xx

Morning all

I record the Village so will watch it today. We watched Endeavour. The actor who plays Joe was on Saturday kitchen and he said they were hoping to have more series to bring it to the present day. The acting is superb but I guess it was grim to be poor and live in a village in the early 20th century - much more of a class divide.

Sorry to hear you are so poorly Lindy - take it easy. You need about 20 minutes of sunshine a day - or was it 3 times a week - to get the vitamin D required. I bet we are all slightly deficient in some way.

I will be watching Broadchurch too. I watch too much TV - Thursdays is my favourite - the Good Wife and Nashville. Both very addictive.

Have a lovely day everyone.

Evening all....

time to sit down, so Broadchurch and then Game of Thrones...This should be a lovely relaxing evening.

Are people feeling any better ?

If people get a chance, try and catch the film ''Silver linings playbook,'' its on sky movies this week, and after all the oscar success I thought Id like to see it. Its a really odd kind of film, with some strange twists....but it does have a lovely feel good factor kind of effect.

and its a fascinating look at depression and mental illness, a kind of there but for the grace of god , go I , kind of feel to it.

Am absolutely horrified about what happened in Boston. I hope they find the culprits very quickly. May all the casualties recover quickly and may those who died RIP.

A sad day throughout the USA.

Hi augusta

I think that's the point really. It's the very fact that such an innocent activity may be targeted, that produces fear and terror in the population. Also I guess from some points of view, a thing like a marathon is representative of the western way of life....so to attack this, is to attack society.

Absolutely awful

I second nyannie's sentiments towards the victims as well

I love crime drama. I haven't been on the Broadchurch thread. I am trying to wean myself off using the computer so much - I won't be here for the last episode so hoping my o/h records it for me.

Somehow I think the vicar did it.

I am a very sad case - watched the double episode of Neighbours last night and thought of John. Do not ask me why!

Morning

The Broadchurch thread is as addictive as the programme itself....you're wise to keep away I think it's the vicar too......or Mark, who's been my 'hunch' from the start .......

Re John . my daughter's boyfriend is being posted to Melbourne for a couple of months....and I did wonder whether he might somehow bump into John. I don't think I could begin to explain to him though......

Hmmm - think it is highly unlikely, but you never know. Perhaps we could ask him to go to the town John lives in.

Oh, all the fun is in following the action and trying to identify the clues that will betray the identity of the killer!

(Can't believe I just wrote that! )

I think episodes 3 to 7 are still on itv player, but I had to pay iTunes to see the first episode (which I'd missed due to this not usually being my thing)

I really hope the denouement lives up to the quality of the drama so far......

Hi all, it's been a while - busy here and there, mostly there

It's a very sad situation, although bib above, you are assuming it's an attack from somewhere non-western... it could be internal seeing as it was (in terrorism terms) a small attack, by that I mean, very non-international if you get my drift. I guess we shall find out eventually.

I see John has been spotted 3 or so times in the UK now, it's possible he's here... we need photographic evidence

Of course you're right Ali, I was writing in the immediate aftermath and was over-generalising....however even 'local' terrorists can want to attack 'society'

John's in the UK ? Really? I think we do need pics if that's the case

Hi georgy

As an ex-flat hunter I sympathize with you. I really looked at some lemons - including one which had a huge hole in the wall and another where there was damp!

Is your son going to share with others or does he want to buy? I personally don't think there is a perfect flat or a perfect house. I had a great flat in London, but there was no soundproofing so could hear people sneeze and. . . I had to compromise. Nice flat, good location but . . . when I sold it I made double what I paid for it - despite the lack of soundproofing!

As for looking for John, agree with you.

Good luck!

Agree with you about John too.

Hmm - John in the UK? Would love that to be true.

I am very pleased to see that the FBI seem to have a suspect! Why do people do these awful things?

Morning all!

Well, I am pretty well organized for my trip to Paris on Monday. Haven't been able to do anything with my mobile though. Have tried the website but no good.

Anyway, hope everyone is well and happy.

Good luck flat hunting georgy. It is tiring.

Off to get my hair done and give the house as good a clean as I can before I go off (hate to think what it will look like when I get back)!!!

Will some kind soul please tell me who did it from Broadchurch - in case my husband forgets to record it. I hate looking at things on i-player.

Hi everyone, boy it's windy here (understatement of the century)

They're repairing the enormous pot holes in the roads leading up to our house, which means we're having to do a detour to get up here and then have to ask permission to drive down to our road. What a palava, but at least it'll save the suspension on the car when they've finished.

We've all had to weave our way up and down the roads for weeks as they've resembled those in Top Gear in Africa.

Sounds as if you're almost ready for your trip nyannie. Are you flying or taking the Eurostar?

I'm also thoroughly enjoying Broadchurch. I know the Dorset coast where it's filmed very well, it's West Bay (where they filmed the ill fated Harbour Lights) just down the road from where my aunt and her hubby (O/H's older brother) live. Beautiful area and stunning coastline.

By the way, I hate to say it but I think the Miller family may have something to do with it. Can't help but wonder if the question 'How could you not know?' asked by Ellie Miller whilst interviewing Susan Wright is going to come back and haunt her.

Is it me or do they seem to have been very lax when it came to interviewing her son Tom?

Whoever it is, I think the community are going to be stunned when the truth is revealed.
