Morning!
Really beautiful weather currently - and NOT too hot. I saw two munjack (sp?) deer in the field next to us - the one the owner wants to cover with housing - they were right up to the fence. Really a joy to see. Birds too seem to be going nuts - guess Spring really IS in the air. We too have to pay for our garden waste bins - £60 - and now we have to put stickers on it to show we have paid or we don't get it emptied - increase in Council tax if you ask me. Having coffee this morning with friend next door. Will be a nice break. I am only taking £5 with me or else I know what I will do - buy more plants. Just spent almost £30 for nematodes to rid us of the awful chafer grubs!!!! Well, best get going. Hope John is well - think he wants to have a normal life. Don't blame him. . . Have a good day all. ![]() your deer sound lovely ........ lets hope we can keep our green belt land untouched what are his chances of being able to build on the land Nyannie. those chafer grubs are deadly to your lawn, they destroy the roots and the crows come along and dig away. I have lost my big lawn area to them twice now. I was so upset, the lawn is a major feature in my garden, the gardener even puts patterns in it for me, looked like someone had taken a rotavator to it. Hope you get it sorted and that you had a lovely day with your friend xxx

These chafer grubs sound awful, why are there so many of them around? I love a beautifully manicured lawn as well, mine is nothing like this....but....maybe one day
busy doing housework , this has been such a lazy week, I must get myself motivated!!

Good morning hope you are all well.
![]() The wanderer returns, I apologise for neglecting all my friends here and I promise it won't happen again. ![]() ![]() Had a very quick read back - O/h is out at the hairdressers (no quick zip round with the clippers for him though I marvel at how the guy manages to cut the little bit he's got left with scissors ) and I'm supposed to be getting ready to tackle Sainsbury's early (for us) when he gets back. ![]() I'm staggered that you all have to pay for wheelie bins for garden waste. We're provided with THREE bins - black for household, green for recycling (plastics, paper, tins and cardboard) and an enormous brown one for garden waste. Then there's the green box for jars and bottles. The biggest headache is finding somewhere to store them all. ![]() Just had a text message from his nibs, he's on his way back - am I ready??? NO!!! ![]() I'll continue this later........ Have a good day everyone.

Good luck with your shoe, and i,m also a handbag girls ...... love soft leather. well done with your Arsenal win yesterday, should be a good game today with Man city and Man U. I don't mind a share of the points or a Man U Loss will be good for us ![]() well it looks like its going to be a nice sunny day, have a good one all xxxx |

well done on the win georgy.....xxx
I have wide feet and have huge problems with shoes......to start with if they are comfy they look like boats, and I don't like the style , but although when I was younger I forced my feet into inappropriate shoes, now I am boring and go for comfort!! but it gives me such a limited choice. ![]() kitchen renovations again this weekend, when will they end!! but I have been promised a trip out somewhere this afternoon. watched Independence day again last night , what a classic feelgood film, although its getting so old now! have a lovely sunny weekend everyone xxx |

Evening
So good to see you Lena - don't leave it so long next time. I've spent £26 (thru trusty Amazon) for nematodes that kill the chafer grub - only thing you can use now. Have to treat the lawn again in September - another £26 and then it is almost £100 for new turf. Need to do back lawn but that will be super expensive!!! We are in mourning for Cambridge - they lost the boat race. We are a Cambridge supporting family. Reading the biography of Jane Hawking and her life with Stephen. It is amazing that he is still alive. Meeting my friend from 50 years ago on Tuesday. Really looking forward to it. Hope everyone is enjoying the weather. . . |

Good morning, weather absolutely beautiful today. Another cloudless sky and that nippy breeze has gone today.
![]() Didn't see Game of Thrones, but did watch season finale of Extant and the penultimate episode of The 100 which left us . Should've known they couldn't trust the 'Grounders'. Do you ever sit and watch something that has so much action and tension that you actually feel worn out afterwards? ![]() Has anyone caught a glimpse of Gracepoint, it's the U.S. version of Broadchurch? I watched the first twenty five minutes but gave up as I couldn't stand the peculiar accent that David Tennant had adopted and I found him even more annoying than I did the first time round. Never mind I have more than enough stuff to keep me going - still got Slow Train Through Africa with Griff Rhys Jones to catch up on.

well I suppose I should have known , we were singing 'in the midnight ' hour, by simply red!!!
after an unsuccessful trip to the dump with my garden waste, it was closed, I am going to have to give in and get the garden compost bin? I hate the principal, we already pay council tax so why do I need to pay extra for rubbish when other areas near us don't! A lot depend on when the council updated their systems......if they have a big stock of wheelie bins, its not too much effort to get more in for free.....but we don't have wheelie bins. ![]() its a beautiful sunny day again, almost like midsummer. the parasol is up in the garden again, just about, I only hit my head once getting it up.... |

so dog now has had the staples removed from his paw, hopefully he is now on the mend, I m just looking at all the housework I need to do.........it can wait a few minutes!
We watched the second part of the code of a killer, on ITV, which was fascinating, and I keeps seeing adverts for the new spitting images comedy show. I wonder what it will be like. Spitting image was a show that was so cruel , but also hilarious it was kind of must see stuff. I suppose lot depends on how well it is written. we are away this weekind so its going to be a rush home from work, I love being busy, but it needs organising...I hope the dogs are going to be ok...!! |

Another cloudless sky (I could get used to this) but there's a bit of a stiff breeze.
.....still it's doing a great job of drying the washing. Nothing quite like the smell of air dried towels and sheets. ![]() Busy sporting day today - live qualifying for Bahrain Grand Prix followed by a trip to Wembley (from the comfort of my sofa) for the first FA cup semi-final of the weekend - Arsenal v Reading. COME ON ARSENAL!!!!! ![]() Aston Villa v Liverpool tomorrow, good luck georgy and Lindy. Unfortunately it's on at the same time as grand prix so I'll just watch the highlights. |

I was stunned to hear my sister pays seventy pounds a month in insurance for her accident prone hound and half that again for the other one!!! Her o/h is convinced they've paid for the vets holiday home in the south of France. ![]() ![]() I watched the first episode of Newzoids, cruel but hilarious and very topical. The puppets are very good. In fits with the Jeremy Clarkson in anger management, Ant and Dec in the jungle with Miliband and Lewis Hamilton at the barbers. ![]() Have a super weekend everyone.
