Good morning, am I the only one not having any trouble getting on here??
Is it because I never log out, just click on my bookmark and voila?!!

Sounds as if you all enjoyed the long weekend, weather could've been better. We sat in garden yesterday morning for elevenses in beautiful sunshine and by the evening had such torrential rain that I was considering ringing Noah to see if he had a couple of vacant berths. .
This morning it's blowing a gale (bit of an understatement really) as the pergola which is constructed of thumping great five inch wide posts is rocking from side to side!!
But the sun is shining yay.

How is everyone? Glad to hear you are better georgy - but sympathize about the car. We have just had the cambelt replaced - £900!!! Not good, but it needs to be done.

I have used the Bank Holiday to catch up on the ironing mountain. Nothing much now in the laundry basket.

My seeds are all coming up - tried to save some money and grow seeds. Will use them to fill in the gaps in the garden.

O/H has finally gotten around to doing something about the ceiling - we now need to get a fungicide! Still, it is a trip out.

Went to see the Magna Carta Exhibition. Really recommend it - very very good.

Went to a hustings last week and two of the parties (G and U) were awful. I must say that our MP was very impressive. Glad when it is over.

A new princess - yeah! Hope they do include a reference to Diana in her name.

Must get going and water my seedlings - they are quite dry despite all the rain.

Take care everyone and hope it is easier to log in next time.”

Still working like a Trojan nyannie, I wish my laundry basket was empty and it's probably best if I draw a veil over the two (yes I did say two) ironing bags.
It's that 'in between' time of year, where I'm taking summer clothes (I like to be optimistic) out of storage and still have winter stuff to be ironed before putting away. That's my excuse anyway.

Had to pop to Homebase on Saturday (o/h on diy duties) so had a wander round their garden centre. I'm always impressed when I go there, beautifully laid out and very well maintained. They've got some stunning plants this season, I can feel another little visit coming on.

I must go as I need to catch the post office before it closes for lunch - back later.

The wind here is crazy, but I have had a lovely day with coffee with a friend and Aqua. If only I didn't have to work! Life could be perfect!

Good news!!!

Our roof has held despite the gales and rain of last night!!!! Yipee!

Went to see a live transmission of the ballet last night. Terrific as always. Friend and I booked for Romeo and Juliet in September - £12!!!!

Back and neck really bad at the moment - don't know what has happened.

I too hope there is no hung Parliament. The hustings I went to was very interesting -

Have a good day all.

what a lovely day, just back from the polling station and it had such a lovely community feeling about it, with half our village either heading out to vote, or on the way back home.

not feeling 100% right today, my stomach is unwell! but never mind, at least I can relax and hope it gets better soon.

the ballet sounds wonderful Nyannie, these cinema shows are really starting to catch on aren't they!

It is a lovely day, such a relief to lose those gales.
Postal votes for us, so already done.

Sorry to hear you're not feeling the best, get well soon.

Are you planning to stay up and watch the results come in?
My o/h mentioned he might stay up. This was met with slight derision on my part , this is a man that's snoring in his chair by nine pm most evenings, bless him.
I can see it now, I'll be nudging him when anything of major interest happens.

Good to hear you're roof is still intact , but it sounds as if you're in the wars again.
Hope you're feeling better soon.

I love the sound of these live transmissions, and what a great idea as it gives an opportunity to see something of quality that doesn't cost a fortune and without the hassle of traveling into London. I shall have to see if they do anything like that down here.

I fear unless the polls are way off we could be in for a bumpy ride over the coming days and even weeks.

Im feeling much better now. Thanks for everyones best wishes!

Im glad we have a clear result in some respects, just slightly scared , we are going to be in for some tough years ahead. Especially within Education!

I also have always been in favour of proportional representation, Its just been highlighted by the way 1 and a half million votes, seem to have given the SNP 55 or so seats, whilst UKIP and the Green Party who both got way more votes than this, only got 1 MP each!

I hope the conservatives realise that there are a lot of people who don't necessariliy agree with all of their policies!!

Now OH is full of cold and needs looking after as well....best go and see how he is..

Did any one else notice BB is back on soon! wonder what it will be like this year?

Massive clear up /housework today, !! great fun.....

So please you're feeling better, its rotten feeling ill

so agree with you....... that the voting system seems so unfair
it always comes up after every elections , but gets forgotten pretty soon after.

i think it was only a few years ago that we all
got to vote on change
and the turn out was appalling, so the voting system stayed the same.

going to give BB a chance if they get the mix right its still a good show....... but i love people watching

good luck with the housework xxx

Just finished watching VE celebrations. Very moving.

Had terrible trouble this morning trying to log on - guess afternoon is the best time! Really getting very fed up with all of this problem logging on.

If you dislike your elections and voting, try the US - we have primaries in many states, an election campaign that goes on FOR YEARS and only people who run these days have lots and lots of money!!!! NO LIMIT. I have actually received a begging letter from a candidate asking for a contribution. I am giving my contribution to the Gurkha Welfare Trust! Think it will be spent better.

The new boundaries may help - seems unfair that Scotland - with such a small population - gets so many MPs. I really want subsidy to Scotland to be drastically reduced and the Scottish Parliament to get Tax raising powers - think a dose of realism is needed.

Just finished reading the Bauhaus book - really interesting. Next I am going to start the newish Fanny Flagg.

What ever happened to our book group? If we had more threadlings, I'd suggest we resurrect it.

Hi Nyannie
hope you're feeling better

i agree VE day celebrations were very moving, so many brave souls lost

as for logging on, i followed Lena advice and stayed logged in and just bookmark

Your voting system is far to muddle for me, my eldest son tried to explain it all.
Sad to say most of it ....... flew right over my head.
but it does sound like ...... money talks

I watched the declarations come in here ...... after all...... i was worried, for many reasons.
What makes me laugh, they all climb up on the old town hall stage,
wipe board behind them, awaiting the results its a bit like a school play
Very old fashioned, can't see that happening in America

as for Scotland....... at the moment, i would be very happy just to snap them off
..... a bit like a biscuit, snap the top of...... and throw them away.......

hope you've had a good day xxx

Good morning, good morning, it's a lovely day and the sun is shining yay!!
Such a relief as I spent much of yesterday in a thick sea fog.

Lovely picture of John, thanks Luke for finding it. Like you georgy, wondering when and where.

John did take to twitter on April 30 (albeit briefly) ........
So am I going in or not, cause you're cutting it a bit fine and the clocks ticking @bbuk #Timebomb#Bagspacked

He's obviously still got an eye on BB over here.
I understand the theme this year is Past, Present and Future which some are taking to mean ex housemates.

He also featured in a recent poll in a certain 'red top' as one half of the 'best ever bb couple' . It did produce a reply from the other half, but I'll say no more.

Oh, I guess my advice worked re logging on (I'm on the Kindle and can't make BIB work, still technologically challenged ) pleased to have been of help.

I stayed up till 6am, (wanted to see a certain person lose his seat) but gave up in the end as they said it would be another hour (little clue there)

Totally with you on US system, I'm like

As for Scotland, there was a very funny bit on Newzoids last Wednesday which involved Alex Salmond doing the weather forecast, blaming Westminster for Scotland being cloudy. His forecast predicted fracking along the border which would result in Scotland drifting across the sea to join Sean Connery in the Caribbean.

I'm sorry I've had to pinch your smilies.

Knew it was too good to last....absolutely hammering down this morning.
Oh well, at least I don't mind being indoors ironing today. I have a mountain of ironing and a mountain of tv to catch up on.

Is anyone watching the Chelsea Flower Show garden competition on BBC2? Some really nice designs and ideas, looking forward to seeing the showpiece gardens from the two finalists this evening.

Have a good day, off for another cuppa and some more coat hangers.

It WAS too good to last although it is bright this morning. We did need the rain though. I went out for the day with my friend next door. We went to a lovely village called EWELME. Only problem - it rained!!!!

I saw the final last night. I would have preferred Rob to win - loved his medicinal garden.

As you say, though, it did give me ideas for my own garden. Been invited to Hampton Court this year. Hope I will survive it.

Have a lovely day today all.

oh Hampton court would be lovely to go to , our trouble is it is totally the wrong side of London for us, and hard to get to.!!

another week over, where has this year gone, but although busy its been much better this week than last.

is anyone doing anything interesting this weekend? its my dads bday so we are all going out for sunday lunch.....which should be nice.....

and do you know when Eurovision is actually on?

and has anyone started to watch BB ? and do we know what the twist is?

Good morning, are we all enjoying the lovely sunny weekend?

Been having a general tidy up around the garden, how can weeds appear so quickly? I swear dandelions have appeared overnight!!

Our dear neighbours opposite us decided to have ANOTHER one of their all night parties, this time a 'seventies' theme. Karaoke at three in the morning with the doors and windows open are not my idea of heaven. We could hear them through the sealed double glazing!! On the plus side, I got the washing in the machine as the sun was rising.

Anything new from John.....I shall have a little look round?
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
