I took my car in to have a dent repaired yesterday, I took it into a local garage and thought it would be easy to get back home again, i was wrong!! I am so used to having a car, its weird for me to not have one. I don't know where buses go from and to, and the taxi I ended up getting was late I had almost given up on it.

As we are off on holiday next week, it thought I could do without a replacement car, but it is a strange feeling to not be able to get around the local area.. Im used to using the train for trips to London etc, but will need a lift from my OH, to get there and back. I could of course walk....but its a very steep hill!

Today the excitement of cleaning the house and chores............

I love family parties, there used to be so many more when I was a child, partly cos we live further away from relatives, and partly because everyone ends up being so busy!
But it is nice to catchup .

best go and start washing floors.

The nails lasted 2 days.......and then fell off when I frantically tried to find something in the loft!!”

How long will the repair take Augusta ...... i so feel your pain...... public transport well Buses are a nightmare
i rarely drive these days...... but you do just take it for granted that your car is there if you need it..... i,m not good at planning things

you must be so looking forward to your holiday, let hope France gets it house in order
with the channel crossing

have fun and take care xxx

Going back to bed for an hour!!!!”

Thank you Nyannie

got caught on the M25 for 5 hours on friday , due to the flash flooding
was very scary to drive in.

got a few things on today, but it does look like the sun is trying very hard to pop out.

been to the sales....... fed my shoe addiction 4 new pairs ...... very pleased

looking forward to the cricket at the end of the week, saving up my ironing for it, got plenty as my washing machine broke down last week.
Its all fixed and mended now, but a ironing mountain has now formed

Afternoon all

It's really cold out so I have made some chunky vegetable soup and blueberry muffins. Also cleaned the cooker - YUCH!!!

I keep spraying round everything - I'm having ANT nightmares!!

Been trying to plan the menu for my relatives. Barbecue one night and eating out one night. Will make some watercress soup and have cheese and rolls for lunch. Need to buy some muesli - we never eat it, but they do - and some grapefruit for the morning - and juice - think I'd best make a list.

Cricket starts tomorrow night. Really hope it is a better test match. Can't bear to see England lose again.

Have a good day all. Hope augusta didn't have problems getting through Eurotunnel. Something really needs to be done and soon.

Afternoon all

I am REALLY WORRIED about augusta - I wonder if she got to France OK.

Glad to see England doing OK although Australia are only 118 runs behind. Good luck England

Just tried to get tickets to the Windsor Festival - SOLD OUT! Can't believe it. I only got the programme yesterday!!!

Wonder if John is at the Ashes.

Must go and make a start on the study. Need to get rid of about 1000 books to make it look tidy!

Have a lovely afternoon

I'm here......after two frustrating days of 'go slow' on Infinity.
Couldn't load pages as they kept timing out ggrrrhh

I was thinking of augusta too nyannie, operation stack still in operation and our local news is full of people complaining.

I really hope they got away safetly and are enjoying their holiday.

I have to admit I know absolutely nothing about cricket I like my sport a bit faster.

Hope your ants are under control nyannie, not funny and they move so fast.

Did you manage to view the video clip of John?

It's not very warm at all, we seriously considered putting on the heating one evening it was so chilly.
Quite disappointed with summer to be honest, a few days of extreme heat and then grey and breezy.

Sadly my ironing pile is always a mountain and I don't have your excuse.
Good to hear your machine is all fixed.

Off to cook Spaghetti Bolognese, it needs to be something quick as it's getting late and the family are circling like hungry sharks.

No, I haven't managed to view the video - may I have the link please?

Really worried about augusta - it sounds awful. I was going to visit a friend in France, but think I will postpone until late autumn.

Yipee! England won the third test. I too like fast sports - rugby, ice skating, athletics. . .

Well, we've had ants inside the house and yesterday we had FLYING ANTS. I was out there with my ant powder and raid. Patio looks a mess but the ants 'ain't' flying anymore. Today, my o/h tackled fixing the water softener. I have been on my hands and knees scrubbing - NOT a pretty sight.

Cousins arrive a week today so trying to get the house into some kind of order. Enjoy the rest of the day. . .

We did put the heating on - and I got out some blankets. Hate to say it Lena, but I'm not a fan of heat. Like the low 20s and the sun - perfect for me.

My ironing mountain is now a puddle, but I've just done a wash so the mountain is now a hill.

Sorry to hear about Infinity - see BT are going to raise their prices.

Your dinners sound great. Will trade your spag bol for my husband's paella - it isn't the greatest sad to say.

Good morning, sun is shining - just about. At least it's warm.

Internet is slow today, or is it my laptop? I'm typing and it's like it's on a time delay.....empty box and then it suddenly appears.

Now it's just returned to screen saver little blue circle turning forever and a day......and I'm back. Grrr

I've been typing this for twelve minutes so far.....even I'm not that slow.

Anyway, I've been scrapping wallpaper off most of the weekend......raising more dust....and I'm paying for it now as I have sore eyes and rotten sinuses today.

Honestly nyannie, I don't know what to wear from one day to the next. I was wearing SOCKS in JULY!! Seriously!!!

Sadly my house is facing the wrong way round. The back faces the sea so the breeze comes off it making it chilly in the shade and the front faces the Downs so it's protected and very warm. It's like two different climates depending which door you go out of.

My iron is leaking like a sieve out of the filler hole. It condensates and then drips out all over my hand and electric cable. I've done it's regular self-descale as per instructions and it's worse than ever. My ironing pile has now divided and I have two mountains.

BT are taking the mick. We already pay seventy pounds a month for Infinity, line rental, call plan, caller ID and 1571. We got BT Sport free as part of the package.

Now they've paid a small fortune for the rights to the Champions League and Premiership football we've had to 'opt out' if we don't want to pay for sport. When my o/h rang them on friday we were told our contract expires in December so the sport stays free till then.

So have to make good use of it while I still have it lol. Did my ironing (with my horrible spare emergency iron) whilst watching Arsenal beat Chelsea in the Community Shield. I shouldn't gloat but my least favourite manager had a face like a slapped a**e.

Can you not see it?
It's odd, if I view link on my Kindle it's just a picture, but if I view on laptop with Chrome or Firefox it's a short video.

The layout of page is different depending which device I use. Just lines of writing on Kindle but big colourful page on laptop.
Have you tried clicking on tweet?

I am officially confused .com

I'll speak to my IT consultant (useful son rofl) and see if he can make it visible for you.

I'll ply him with steak pie and all the trimmings, usually does the trick.

How's the ant situation georgy and nyannie.....any better?
