What a beautiful day it's been, not the heatwave that was somewhat exaggerated, but lovely and sunny.
Early start for me today, as I too had a trip down the road to the dentist. Lovely ten minute walk in the sun, quick visit to the dentist (all good, just x-rays and scale and polish) and a lovely walk back.

Hope your visit to the dentist was equally pain-free georgy.

I'm using the dreaded laptop at moment (it only took eighteen minutes to finally load this page) messages about unresponsive scripts etc, etc.

Son only arrived back late yesterday afternoon, sporting two weeks of beard, a holdall full of washing and in need of a good shower and shave. Straight back to work last night, so it's going to be at least Tuesday before he gets a chance to look at this ailing piece of machinery.

In the mean time I shall carry on 'scrumming', 'heaving' and 'kicking into touch'.

Forgot Lady Chatterley was on, so I shall try and catch up on iplayer. Thankfully my Kindle is excellent for that.
We've been watching Odyssey on BBC2 on Sundays, last one this week.

Loved Doc Martin, which was back on Monday evening.
There's some good stuff coming on ITV. New series of Grantchester, Unforgotten, Jekyll & Hyde, The Durrells, not to mention the very last series of Downton Abbey. I shall have the tissues ready.

Haven't watched any of CBB, didn't know who most of them were. Not sure how they have the nerve to call them celebrities.

I'm looking forward to seeing Barack Obama on Bear Grylls.

Had a lovely day in Oxford yesterday. New Bodleian beautiful - sun shining, buses working (not trains though. . .)

I haven't watched any CBB but gather there are a lot of very unpleasant people there. I did watch Lady Chatterley - disappointed with it. Definitely not as good as the version with Sean Bean. I'm also looking forward to A PLACE TO CALL HOME.

I am addicted to RESISTANCE on More4 and Nashville on E4 (why it's on this channel I don't understand). Missing the Last Leg already!

Our internet connection went down for over an hour yesterday. Not only ours, but our friend in Essex too - very strange. I could use email though. . .

Busy weekend - supermarket visit, sending off my tax, putting back the window, buying salt for our water softener, visit to the garden centre etc. Also need to continue clear out. Hate getting rid of books, it seems like it is getting rid of old friends.

Goggle box is back tonight, not quite as good as the last leg, but at least its light and amusing, and gives me an idea of what else is on !

autumn is back with a vengeance, strictly is gearing up to start, and the X factor is back.

At least it should be nicer weather this weekend. I am looking forward to a lazy weekend, I haven't stopped all week.

Weekend spent having the largest paper clearout ever - 5 bags of recycling! O/H spent weekend painting windows and garage door - about 3 more weeks I guess.

Haven't taken my amytriptiline yet - very nervous about being sleepy so will wait until Friday night.

Taking a friend's daughter to lunch in London on Wednesday - looking forward to it.

We are having a heavy rainstorm at the moment!!!! Need the rain. The nematodes get sprinkled into the lawn tomorrow.

What an absolutely foul day and yesterday's wasn't much better.

Laptop update - yesterday it's files were backed up onto Cloud, Google drive and an external drive (just in case, belt and braces here)

Then my IT genius stripped it down and started again. When he left for work last night Windows 7 had just been re-installed.

When he got back this morning he put it back on and Windows had 129 updates to install!!! It was still installing when he woke just after 2pm.

Now it's about to install Windows 10. Just getting a little bit excited.

I hope this works.

OMG

I have now bought some nematodes for the chafer grubs AND ants. Cost a small fortune I can tell you. I have sprayed every crevice and hole in the house. Put ant powder around the house and garage and keeping my fingers crossed I don't see them and they don't come in. How on earth did they get into the CCTV?

Pest controller next stop I think.
