![]() ![]() ![]() Made a really yummy dinner - slow-cooked roast lamb and French-style flagelot beans. O/H wolfed it down - a Barefooot Contessa recipe (aka Ina Garten). Very good! It does appear John has deleted instagram - honestly, if he doesn't want people to look, don't put an account up. That man is full of contradictions! Still support him though. We have booked a few days away in Wales. A place we've gone to many times. Not too far either. Have decided to get our en suite bathroom done. This means no holiday for the next two years - still, it will be great to have it. Off to bed. Hope everyone has a lovely weekend. i love Wales ..... just not right now....... lol ![]() sounds like a lovely get away

After a lovely day in London (trauma and chaos to get there), got home, opened my email and got very sad news.
Weather is now perfect for me and I am going sketching in the garden tomorrow. Pooped - so off to bed to watch the evening's TV. Agree with you augusta, so glad to see Downton and Googlebox back - wonder when Branson will reappear. |

![]() ![]() Well he's gone on a positive twitter/instagram fest, posting several pics from his Instagram account onto his twitter account. ![]() Haircuts, sunbeds (not too long on there I hope) , stepping out of cars, his? clothes store in Melbourne. What a treat. ![]() If you still wander round the sites from time to time, keep it up John, it's good to see you looking fit and well. Wishing you luck and fun in all that you do. ![]() By the way, what is Leafy langy and is it coming soon???? ![]() Just asking.

We lost
![]() in the last 10 mins stupid mistakes and just not thinking ![]() but the party went well, lets just say ........ there was a lot of drowning ones sorrows and a few rude rugby songs....... sang very badly ![]() just going to read back........ then i think i might have a little lie down, after all things have now stopped spinning hope all are having a good weekend, and lets pray for a major upset a aussie lost today is much needed Poor old Harry didn't look too happy either. ![]() I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we (Arsenal), produce a performance like Saturdays, against Olympiakos this evening. and not a disaster like our first foray in the Champions League this season. ![]() Arsene Wenger really has got up the nose of grumpy chops. I see he went on another rant about him last week, without actually mentioning his name or being asked about him. Diego Costa got exactly what he deserved, but according to grumpy it's everyone else's fault not his. He's one sneaky little **** is what he is. It's not like he doesn't have previous.......and breath.

I'll get my thinking cap on...........nothing yet. ![]() ![]() In the meantime, I'm going to load the washing machine again and break out the ironing......... at least I've got Downtown and Doc Martin to catch up on.

The thing is that he post the pics but we are still none the wiser as to what he is up to? Do not know what happened to Leafy Langy, whatever it was.
My guess is that Leafy Langy is a song, film etc etc. Wonder if we will ever know what it is. Talk about mystery. . . |

Evening all.
I've signed up for an online course which is supposed to take 3 hrs a week. Well, with the reading, discussion and looking things up I've spent 8 hours, but I really am enjoying it. Looking forward to next week! No news from John - hope Dan is trawling instagram! A pesky squirrel is driving me crazy, digging up plants. I now have about 300 bulbs and will have to plant them in pots with wire underneath and place them around the garden - anyone know good, inexpensive deterrents? Cayenne pepper works until it starts to rain! |

Good morning, sun's been a bit slow today but mist has cleared finally.
![]() Gonna miss this spell of fine weather, much more unsettled next week. ![]() So, all ready for the big game tonight? Come on England!!!! ![]() As for Arsenal midweek........perhaps it's best to say nothing........well maybe just one thing.....we desperately need someone to lead them when they're on the field. Never know who's going to be wearing the Captain's armband from one game to the next. I know I'm a dinosaur, but I miss the days when we had Tony Adams organising them from the back. Bellowing instructions, leading by example.....sometimes they just seem rudderless. With the amount of talent we have, we should be doing a lot better. ![]() Off to do some gardening and clearing out more stuff for the tip. Still can't see to the end of the loft. ![]() ![]() Enjoy your weekend everyone. x

afternoon.....
so who owned the National Gallery before its sale to a private company at the start of November? If it was owned by the country and was truly a national gallery, how can it be sold? And how and when did all the established thinking about teaching get overturned and changed? Now we are firmly in the period of children being empty vessels that need to be filled with knowledge. What happened to all the child psychologists who influenced ideas like Montessori, who said that children needed to experience and explore learning, so that they could understand it? All those old fashioned ideas, like learning to read via sight recognition, or suggesting that young children need to explore non standard measurements before they get onto metric measurements. Have they changed how they measure horses now? I hope instead of using that archaic method of measuring in hands, they now use standard centimetres and metres. and welcome back Have I got news for you and Gogglebox! |

why not get the squirrel an alternative food to bulbs to distract him? I have no idea what they eat, but maybe there is a cheaper alternative to bulbs?
Its always amused me that squirrels are just tree rats with bushy tails.....so they can almost be as much as a pest....as other rats.....is there a natural deterent or predator to catch and eat squirrel? |

I didn't know it had been sold must of missed that ![]() as for teaching methods why the need to keep changing , poor kids don,t know were they stand ..... to many exams so much pressure , no fun anymore in the science labs, not allowed to do experiments for themselves ..... to dangerous, health and safety let just go back to the basic .............. and lets stop adding in useless subjects , oh and science is not one subject it three (physics, chemistry, biology ) why have they lumped them together ![]() shall get of my high horse now ( which by the way is still measured in Hands) lol have a good weekend Augusta
