evening everyone

So my first xmas decoration is up....a wreath for the door, with a special suction hook to fasten it to the glass on the front door! I have wanted a fastening for years, hope it survives the wind!

im retrained on my first aid course......its a useful skill, don't get me wrong, but...its such a repetitive session.

And has anyone else been watching sky and their landscape painter of the year programme? the winning artist does some amazingly evocatively dreamy landscapes, they are beautiful.

And Peter Andre is now off Strictly, what a surprise!!

I,m only about half way through with the presents, no cards written, and the decoration
are still boxed up

not watched strictly much, am watching the jungle programme was surprised to see Peter had been voted of, thought he was one of the favs to win.

Well done with your first-aid refresher augusta. Very important.

Spent almost 6 hrs in the hospital - blood tests,, x-rays etc. Very painful when I got home.

Don't have SKY so don't know about landscapes. A friend watched it and cannot understand why the current contestants are in it.

Off to tennis today at the Albert Hall. Hope I can sit through it all.

Hi wasn't strictly odd.......2 of the favourites in the bottom 2! How useful to get one of the main favourites out of the way this week!

Its hard though, in some respects Anton and his partner should have gone, but Anton is so popular in of himself, I did nearly vote for them, as I wanted to see Antons face when he realised he was into the semi final. He was so excited.

I also saw the final of the landscape painter, a commission to paint Willy lotts cottage. At Flatford, well I was so disappointed. During the[programme the winning artist, didn't go near or look at Willy Lotts cottage itself , once. She painted the trees, the bridges, the tea shop.......the Constable views.....across the river. And although its a lovely abstract painting of trees, its nothing at all to do with Willy Lotts cottage.

I ended up wondering if the prize commission was wrongly titled, or whether no one bothered to tell the commissioned artist, what she was meant to be painting?

The point of painting Willy Lotts cottage, was I thought that its the only house or dwelling in the same place as it was during Constables time, that Constable actually painted, apart from the churches, ....

still need to pick up Hubs birthday cards, it so unhelpful of him to have a birthday so near

also a friend of ours is getting married a week before , not sure what to wear
and most of my evenings are now booked with something or another....... i,m going to be
the size of a house by the time Christmas gets here
if its not lunch its dinner, so the xmas turkey and me will have something in common, both of us are going to get stuffed this year

All Xmas preparations done and dusted, just have to deliver some cards tomorrow.

Being inundated by in-laws on Sunday - we have decided to eat out so need to book the taxi and hoover! Cleaned the guest bathroom. Tomorrow I will change bed linen and dust the guest room.

Plan to have a lazy morning, but will make some cauliflower soup for us for lunch and I can have leftovers during the week.

Saw the Giacometti exhibition yesterday. Very very good.

Will watch Strictly tomorrow night. I'm a Jay fan.

Hello, I'm so sorry for neglecting my fellow jjater's there's been quite a lot going on here one way and another. How are we all??

Trying very hard to catch my own tail (if I had one obviously) .........am I ready for Christmas??? I wish.
Nearly all the presents have arrived (no thanks to M&S who have discontinued some of my favourite things, who's website search is random to say the least and one of the items in my order is missing but I've an eyeshadow instead), at least Amazon have got it all delivered. Just a few odd bits and pieces to get.

Like you georgy I've also got a hubby who's birthday falls at an inconvenient time of year it's a biggy next week, the big six zero.

Still haven't written a single card I'm ashamed to say. They're sitting there staring at me as I type.

We've had the heating engineer back today to finish the system clean (had a filter thingy fitted which keeps the system clean. Running nice and quiet now the air and sludge has been removed.

Son has been unwell for some time. He's had an inner ear infection that has taken ten weeks, three lots of tablets and two types of drops to finally start to clear it up, he had a CT scan Wednesday evening to see what's going on, consultant says there's still
some fluid in there.
He's also had tooth trouble which has involved a visit to an endodontist after his face swelled so badly in the space of a few hours of our regular dentist treating him for toothache. He looked like he'd walked into a prize fighter's fist, so swollen his eye was almost closed. A CT scan revealed a cyst over a centimetre across at the root of the offending front tooth. It's been caught at stage 1 so thankfully it's not caused any damage to the bone. She's treated the root with medication that stays in there now till February when she'll do another scan to see if the cyst's dispersed.

Endodontist says she's sure the ear and cyst are connected all on the same side and the sinuses shows up as hazy on the pictures. At one point he was taking four different lots of tablets staggered over twenty four hours, you could almost hear him rattling. He's finally admitted he feels very tired and he's lost weight but at least he's
now pain free and recovering, so that's good news.

In other news I have Hot tickets for Il Divo's Amor y Pasion world tour next year. Yay!!!!

Must go, Sainsbury's is calling. Will read back properly over the weekend.

im here as well..... nativity play is done......and most of the shopping for xmas
decorations went up yesterday.....

it was my OH birthday yesterday, we had a takeaway with both daughters, which was lovely.

But I spent most of the morning in Tesco doing the weekly shop, which was busy.....full of shop assistants dressed as star wars characters, including 2 or 3 princess leia....
it was most surreal....

And I have a new car to collect on Monday.....its only a tiny UP, and I am just updating the one I had before......I cant get that excited by cars unfortunately....they are a useful thing, and if it was a fantastic sports car I might feel differently.....

I like cars of unusual colours and designs....I used to love the 2CV and the early Fiats.
a lot of the big cars look fairly similar to me.....

Sorry I haven't been around. Even though I have sent all my cards, delivered and posted all my presents other things seem to happen.

First, o/h's computer got sick, so it has had to be stripped and everything installed - currently 300 Windows updates are being installed and checked!!!!

Then, our washer/dryer blew up. Need a new one asap as we are running out of sheets and towels - reason, we had in-laws for the weekend. Hopefully I can order one tomorrow and we will have it by Thursday.

Good news - I am Vitamin D deficient so now have to take 8000 IU a day for 3 months!!! Evidently 80% of UK residents are Vitamin D deficient.

every thing breaks down all at once , you've had no end of problems with that
washer and dryer of yours...... hope you get a nice new one, any idea what make you are going to go for.

sorry you are still unwell, is your body not absorbing the vitamin D, or have you not been getting enough in your diet, i thought sun helped with vitamin D, and none of us are getting enough of that this time of year.

hope the tablets help, am i correct in thinking Vitamin D is for bones and joints, will need
to check
