up - just bought some biscuits too so hope you will visit us too. I'm just drying off after a quick trip into town to do some shopping and banking. It is really coming down steadily -and we already have three roads closed because of flooding. Whatever next? |

Morning all. How are we all?
Like winter outside but we do have weak sunshine. Hail expected later. Hope Lindy is enjoying her break and not too put off by the weather. No news from John I see. Oh well, I had best get another bottle of smelling salts just in case. afternoon all...just about dodged the rain today, but it feels so so cold..... I had to bring all my geraniums back inside again this morning. ![]() have we heard anything new from John???? |

Morning all!
No news from John that I know of. Just got in from retrieving my dustbin. Thank goodness I have a side gate or I'd not know where it was. Off to London today to have lunch with a friend and then ballet with another friend - and staying overnight. Hope Lindy is having a good stay in Plymouth although the weather there yesterday was pretty awful. See you all tomorrow. |

We are about to be issued with another wheelie bin, to add to the two we already have and the green box. Like you nyannie we have a side gate, but what on earth do you do if you have to store this lot in the front garden? ![]() Hope you enjoyed your trip to London and the ballet. |

![]() I think he may be coming for the Ashes test series! Those cats are cute, but some are almost downright dangerous. the way they bounce at and attack some small children... But I love the ones that chase the lights...and fall off things. So are we all ready for Eurovision tomorrow? |

And what does anyone else think about the idea of fast tracking high achieving Graduates onto a specialist social working course?
I do agree there does seem to be a massive shortage of suitable qualified social workers.....but....can you imagine how effective these young people are going to be...sorting out some pretty complex family issues???? Its bad enough meeting the fast tracked headteachers, and some young enthusiastic trainee teachers........who know it all from the book, and are full of optimism and enthusiasm. But who in reality know virtually nothing. I have a feeling teaching is a slightly safer situation though than a social work one. How is a young inexperienced graduate going to cope with a situation like that of Baby P? Where it sounds as if the family were quite obstructive to any outside intervention at all? I've met some social workers who prefer not to work in children's services, because the legal accountability and consequences are so dangerous. |

I suspect it might be too expensive though so will have to look at a plan B. The food fayre sounds wonderful. Wish we'd have them around here. |

Hope it lasts! ![]() We've had a sunny day too, quite a change from what they were promising at the beginning of the week. Do wish the air would warm up a bit though, it's still chilly. A holiday, how exciting. Croatia I'm told is stunningly beautiful. Certainly looked lovely on A Place In The Sun. Didn't our georgy go on a cruise around their? |
