Oops!

Forgot to say georgy the guinea fowl was OK although it tastes like chicken - the vegetables were terrific. Going to try them again - you toss them in a mixture of olive oil, wholegrain mustard and lemon zest (got to use the zester I got O/H for Valentine's Day) and a bit of lemon juice. Then put them in a roasting tray with some dry white wine and roast for about half an hour to 45 minutes. Celeriac and carrots were the stars.

I wonder if John does any cooking or if he still depends on Big Macs?
now that sounds easy with the veg
i think i shall give it a go
and even better no flying fat involved

thanks nyannie

Forgot to wish everyone a good morning. Rain here but I'm not complaining - we've had over a week without any.

How are we all?

Did anyone see Poor Kids in America? I was absolutely shocked - I knew the situation was bad but not that bad. The state doesn't provide emergency accommodation or much and of course no medical care - you have to pay for everything - once unemployment benefit runs out, you've had it. I was shocked that one of the children couldn't go to school. Education is so important for social mobility. A friend of mine told me there is now a soup kitchen in my hometown - unbelievable as it is an affluent area. What an eye opener.

I wonder what social benefits you get in Australia?

I missed this, but it sounds awful..... I find the idea of food banks in the UK horrendous.....

I think Australia as an ex colonial nation, follows a similar social security system to the UK, with a free Health service etc. but as its still fairly solvent financially , i cant imagine it being quite so bad as countries who are trying hard to cut back like the UK or canada?

I think the footie shirt went for the same price as was bid before John's tweets, and even before that, I dont think anyone really thought it was genuine, so I think most of the fans were aware of the score. I still think it was a publicity gesture on the part of her management....

Great new pic, thanks crazy and roswifejan

Good to see John looking so relaxed. He's lost a bit of bulk, I think, which suits him

Morning Jonathan
So good to see you. Amazing, isn't it, that we are still here - and in a nice shiny thread too!

I am also glad to see that John appears to have gone back to his original brown hair - anonymity perhaps?

Anyway, hope everyone has a good day today.

at the beginning of the show

Never been a fan of Geordie shore. I am trying to wean myself off reality shows and watch something which stretches my mind. Having said that I used to watch the Real Housewives of Orange County and New York. Really to see how the other half lives - and the amount of corrective surgery and botox and fillers fills me with terror! Why? Women's necks and hands show their age. You cannot stop time!!!!

Anyway, busy weekend and I'm in London with friends on Monday, staying over and then clinic on Tuesday - busy, busy week!

Morning all

Anyone else getting fed up with the boom boom of PicoPix every time you go down a page?

Looks like our lunch may be very very late. Our in-laws are stuck on the M25 near Crawley - some kind of really bad accident.

Just what we didn't need today.

How are we all? Have a good weekend. I am off to London on Monday morning and won't be back until Tuesday - provided the snow isn't more than showers or I'm cancelling the trip.

morning everyone...

woke up this morning with a really sore throat, have done the shopping and now to sit down and relax....and hope the sort throat goes away.

Well I did watch Geordie shore last night, with my youngest, who told me in no uncertain terms that although she watches it regularly, i am not allowed to watch it that often ,as it is a silly programme that is totally unrepresentative of todays young people....!!!

Actually it seems very similar to something like BB, but set in a house in Newcastle, where they can come and go as they please...But I do agree about watching it and going..
