Ive seen it....its a B+ B competition isn't it.....I enjoyed it when ive watched it.

Evening all....

sad news , my beloved ancient Fiesta is not well.....It started making a horrendous grinding engine noise today...and the garage reckons its not worth fixing....

Cars are lovely when they work...but not so lovely when they don't. And as I need the car to get to work, its going to have to be replaced fairly swiftly....

how is your foot Nyannie?
So sorry to hear about your car augusta. Hope you can get a replacement very very soon. Such a nuisance!

Not sure the injection has taken but it is nice not to have to sit all day.

Sad to say, I watch Four in a Bed too. Some of the owners really are bitchy to say the least - and looking at some of the places, I wouldn't want to stay in some of them.

We love to stay in B&Bs but I always stay in ones recommended by the Tourist Board. We stayed in a great place in Newark. The owner was terrific and very helpful.
Glad you can move about today Nyannie hopefully in less pain.

When the tourist board come to inspect B/B they come incognito and don't say who they are untill after breakfast, you usually have a feeling before that though.

I have never been to Newark always intended to because they have a big antique fair there I would like to see.

Hope you have some good news on the car. I had an old Micra which I had to get scraped last June. Its daft I know but you find yourself saying goodby to it and feeling sad like losing a dear old friend. I managed to get a 3 year old Nissan Note to replace it which is fine so far.

Hello Diane

I think it is predicted to be another lovely weekend - great, isn't it? We really don't seem to have had this much sun for quite a while

Afternoon all. Many thanks for your good wishes. They have made me feel much better.

Georgy - I too had an altercation with private health provider. We have to go through a 'case manager' who has been subcontracted by the company. Anyway, he had to get 'authorization' from the insurance company to approve my private consultation. When I asked why he was actually involved he couldn't answer. Needless to say I have written a letter to my husband's MD asking why we are paying for coverage we have to spend 20 minutes - and altercations - to get. Waste of money.

I am watching the tennis too. Nothing much else to do having to put my feet up.

I don't remember the Coronation at all although I did watch the service yesterday. Beautiful except for that last piece of music by Walton which I didn't care for.

I do however, remember where I was when JFK was elected and when he was assassinated.
They are so annoying
eager to take your money, and when you need to claim,
then nothing
Good on you for complaining, i,m still having trouble with ours, If they are not careful , i,m going to stick my son on
them soon

Good Morning jjat
just catching up now, need to see what you have all been up
to,
not moving far today so much on Rugby the Lions tour and of course the Cricket, Eng v Australia in the Champions trophy

I had a gap.....where a tooth had lost its crown and fallen out years ago....so I was meant to have a bridge fitted across the gap, but ....when the bridge came back, there was a tiny silver section that hadn't been covered over with the white veneer...So my dentist and I decided it needed to be sent back......

and fitted next week.......

Once this bridge is done, then Im going to probably have an implant in the other side of my mouth...Its like a screw fitting drilled into my gum, then a tooth will be attatched into the fitting when the implant has settled down.

I had the choice of this, or another bridge or a denture...The bridge I was worried about, cos as all my teeth are dreadful, I was worried that another bridge would damage the strength of my surrounding teeth.

And I don't think I could cope with a denture......The back of my mouth is fairly narrow...and I almost gag cleaning my teeth..and im scared a denture would irritate me....cos I would constantly be aware it was there.....

Like when I was pregnant, I couldn't bear anything tight around my waist...and I cant wear headbands..cos they give me a headache.....

I just wish it wasn't going to cost so much to fix.. unfortunately .our health insurance doesn't cover specific work on teeth, it covers extracting teeth and painful teeth....but not actually fixing them.......and im not an NHS patient...

As an NHS patient, I think my only option would be dentures of some kind though.....
its silly money, isn't it
so it need to be right, with the bridge, let me know how your
implant goes, thats what i need doing
but not sure i,m brave enough,

as for health insurance..........

hope all goes well for you

Hope the foot problem can get sorted Nyannie - sounds so painful, and it must stop you doing things you like.

And this thread is responsible for me arranging my check up with the dentist - months overdue - and it's not even that I'm nervous - just put things off now and then! So thank you threadlings. Oh and thanks to John, of course, for inspiring the thread. (see what I did then to pretend we're always on topic )

Now can someone please inspire me to make a hair appointment? - much scarier than the dentist...
i feel your pain ........
i need a shaking in your boots smilie , for a new hairdresser thing

hope you are well, with no chunks missing from your hair

Haven't even got the excuse it's a new hairdresser - same one for years. But my hair is long and I just let it grow until the ends get too raggy even for me. He always asks if I need an estimate and a valium, and I have to promise not to let anyone know he's responsible for my hair...

Good luck with the insurance rottweilers georgy, you go get'em!

Off to do a bit of essential stuff in the garden now, my work is never done....
suncream? - check
sunglasses?- check
lawnmower?- check - yep it's still hanging in the garage
sunlounger? - double check
book? - yep
So off I go for a strenuous lie in the sun

Happy Saturday to one and all

There is actually quite a lot to see in and around Newark. We went to the oilfields, Lincoln, the castle, Sherwood Forest (a bit disappointing as I was hoping to see Robin Hood and his merry men), the civic hall and museum, the huge antiques centre, the Holocaust museum, air museum, Southwell and had great Chinese dinners. Only disappointment was the supposedly 'best restaurant' in Newark - Blue something near the castle. It was terrible - and expensive!

Quite a lot to see so I'd say go!

Happy Saturday to you too Giddy.

I am going out to sketch some of my garden shortly. Want to do something before the tennis - may skip the Sharapova/Williams match because of all the grunting. Also want to watch the England/Argentina match later - don't know if o/h will tolerate me watching so much sport.

Hope Lindy enjoys herself in Paris. It is going to be HOT!!!!!

My hairdresser costs me a fortune and we are not in a large town or city. I try to space it so I have it done every three months - however, by that time my o/h starts making rude remarks. I usually have to have a large G&T when I see my bank statement.

I hate going to hairdressers, just can't find the right one I think we all know if we are not happy with our hair we just don't feel right. Can't understand how so many salons exist when there are so many unsatisfied customers around. They show me the pictures to choose a style and the finished job looks nothing like it. Only once did I get a really good cut that I was happy with. It was a top salon in Glasgow about 15 years ago it cost £220 for the full thing, obviously I could'nt do it regular wish I could.

On topic I prefered John with fair hair, wonder how it is just now.

Thanks for the memory of our first sight of John James ,little did we know on that day how emotional his journey would be .

I think one of the reasons I prefered the fair hair was because he always looked so sad and thin when he was dark but that was'nt due to the change of colour was it.
