I also enjoy watching Springwatch and the webcams, its marvellous what they can show us. I missed it yesterday so don't know if the 2 jackdaws are still alive or if the intruders came back for another attack and as for the babies that escaped the snake lets hope their parents can keep feeding them.

I think its odd how with birds both parents bring food for their young, but with ducks after mating the female is left alone to hatch the eggs then feed the young and defend them alone .”

well maybe it is...and maybe there is something special in Chicken DNA, that means they are easily located from space...

Having just read the latest Dan Brown book...methinks you might be onto something... perchance.a plot for a bestselling book... I do like Dan Brown and his art references are incredible, it really makes me want to go and look at the paintings and sculpture he is describing......but the plot of this latest on 'Inferno' is very imaginative......

And sadly The next X files film looks like it will never happen.......After watching The Fall, I cant see Gillian Anderson ever agreeing to go back to the X files, even for old times sake, she is going to have far too much work on doing other things...

Be careful on that roof, it can be mighty slippy.

Maybe you can entice him down with a bottle of champagne.

Talking of roof's - I've been watching two little Herring Gull chicks wandering backwards and forwards along the roof opposite. They can go at quite a pace. ”

Thanks Lena
to be fair, it took quite a while to talk him down
i think it was just the view and fine weather that kept him up there

Belated congratulations georgy - and your husband of course! You must have been a child bride - my goodness, 25 years.

My husband and I have been married 22 years and we both look like old crones!

Love your new car augusta - bet you can't wait until you get it.

My o/h and I are going out for the day shortly. Don't like this wind much but we will be antiquing (won't buy anything) and having a nice lunch somewhere.

Wonder how much tennis they will get in today at Queens.

Have a lovely day everyone.

Well that is the question......I was told between a week to 10 days, but maybe sooner.....and now..Im not sure.

I think it has landed in the UK , but the garage don't know exactly when its going to be delivered to them, then it needs to be got ready and have its numberplate etc given to it..

It seems to me to be a bit haphazard, but ...maybe this is how it usually works, although most people have told me, new cars can take weeks to arrive. I have the ablility to be infinitely patient with people, but extremely impatient with things....so......Im really impatient for it to arrive NOW !!!

funny enough
but before i became a lady of leisure (25 years ago)

this was my job
i worked for Ford, ordering new stock and issuing number plates and anything to do with getting them on the road.

so yes it can take quite a while, if its a special build
but it sound like yours is coming in on the general stock
order, but once the dealership has the car, which they can track, and follow, getting it on the road can be very quick, just a couple of days.

i had to keep track of a Ford Escort once
for a very eager and excited customer, i knew when it had been built, when it left the factory, when it was put on the boat, and when it fell off the boat, she was not best pleased

Hi everyone

Am back from Paris after a great few days We do seem to have spent rather a lot of time eating and drinking, but that was at least partly due to meeting up with friends Had some lovely meals and did some sightseeing......my favourites were the Museum of the Middle Ages (where we also saw a concert done with medieval instruments, and a wonderful singer), the Chagall exhibition at the Luxembourg Gardens (which I could wander round again and again) and.....the trip on the no 63 bus along the Boulevard St Germain!

Have had a quick skim on here and can I add my birthday wishes to nyannie, happy anniversary to georgy, and hope you get the car soon to Augusta

Off now to unpack.

See you later

Love, Lindy xxx

So glad to see you back. I am so pleased you liked the Cluny, I loved it too.

We took the 63 bus too! I also love the Luxembourg Gardens - and the many restaurants and bars near it.

Thank you for all your good wishes everyone.

Just came back from Marlborough - part of my birthday treat and only an hour away from here. Lovely town with great boutiques - georgy, was thinking of you - but all the pubs had basically the same menu so we wound up at a place which specialized in seafood - mussels and crab salad - very fresh and from Cornwall. The owners know James Martin.

Antique shops quite expensive and I was surprised to see that Georgian silver serving spoons I bought for £20 about 25 years ago for over £80!

The best surprise - when I got home some gorgeous flowers AND a beautiful box which contained a new mug - I broke mine about a week ago and was mourning its loss. These two gifts from very very special friends. I am a very lucky person!

Morning all

Anyone here?

Just retrieved my dustbin from the flower bed - thank goodness it didn't open or I would have had a big mess on my hands.

Have a good day everyone.

Morning nyannie, blustery here too, and rain in the air.
I've put the heating on for half an hour the last few days, to take the chill off the house!
It's mid June for goodness sake!

Sounds as if you've had a lovely extended birthday treat, so pleased for you. You deserve it.
