Oh thanks, never had strawberries in champagne before (takes ladylike sip) mmm, delicious.
I love strawberries, my favourites, along with pineapple.

Better have something to eat with this or I could be in trouble.
I know what you mean Lena - I'm taking ladylike sips too.

You ought to try peach juice or peaches in bubbly - really really good too.

It came up with a message at one point saying red button was rebooting (I mean seriously, what does that mean ) never had that message before.

My sis was watching Murray whilst I was watching Nadal, kept texting each other with latest scores. Got a bit hectic to say the least.

Could I have a top up nyannie, that's rather good champagne.
(Opens up another bottle of champagne) Here you go Lena - I've put more strawberries in.

Wow, I'm confused just trying to text - how can the red button reboot?

Venus is either 6 ft or a bit taller. I loved the way she played, more graceful than Serena but could hit just as hard in her heyday.I played first singles for my university team when I was young - and yes, I used a wooden racket.

I am really worried about Nadal. Commentators talking about him not competing on grass anymore.

. . .
That would be a great shame
i know movement on grass is bad for the knees
but wouldn't he have the same trouble on a hard court

i do love watching him play

yes i agree, i've watched the Williams girls
play doubles a couple of years ago
venus has more style and grace

now that sounds nice
i,m having a Haddock and cheese fish cake
on a herb salad

and the boys are having steak

yes i bet thats what she is up to
driving around in her brand new car

Actually your dinner sounds better. We had steak last night (from our friendly butcher) and my o/h made chips. Really good.

Wonder if we should take some doggy bags home. I don't think that the others are coming.

Me too. I'm a true-blue Federer fan but I'd hate not to see him play on grass.

I noticed that most of the shots he used were forehands. He didn't want to put any pressure on his left knee. Really sad!

Oh, will try that some time.

Red button - no idea!

I've taken a chance and attempted red button again, two attempts and I've finally managed to get the Ferrer match.

Latest score: Ferrer won first set, 4-5 down in second and serving and oh he's just lost the second set!

Oh no, I love Ferrer! After the news headlines I will have to switch over.

Sorry to be a party pooper Lena and georgy, but I'm feeling a bit light-headed and will have to sober up before I do dinner.

I've made up some doggy bags for you and given you two bottles of bubbly. Will someone stack the chairs and I'll collect them tomorrow ---sorry the others couldn't make it.

I was very sad to see Nadal go out, he seemed to keep running round his backhand.
I watched him in the French Open and he was very tentative at the start, but then went on to win of course.

It would be very sad if this was his last Wimbledon.

Not a fan of ladies tennis really. As I said the other week, I miss the grace of Evert, Goolagong et al.

. . . I need a paracetamol.

Had fun , guess can't hold my drink anymore. . .either that or it is eating too much too fast.

I've left a bit for the others - if they show up. . .

Limps out of the thread clutching a bottle and doggy bag with some of Lena's sandwiches and strawberry shortcake.

We've got Chicken in herbs with roasted roots and new potatoes.
All cooked in a bag, yummy.

Think the doggy bags are a good idea, not sure I should eat or drink anymore.

Do you think it would keep in the thread fridge if we wrap them in foil or film?

I didn't touch it I swear, did it all by itself. Hic.

My builders (o/h and son) have consulted each other, looked at their tools and called it a day.
If this is the best they can do I shall still be waiting for my tiles at Christmas!

Hic, hic, hic.

Staggering in with a giant headache and I haven't even had any champagne!

Am really sorry, got in at 4.30, in good time for the party, then answered a couple of messages and crashed out Am so sorry I missed you all

Still, it sounded like a good party, and you seem to have managed without my sandwiches and fruit I like the idea of peach juice in champagne, nyannie - isn't that called a Bellini? Yum, anyway

O/ H has given up on waiting for me and has put a cannelloni ready meal in the oven......what a disaster all round!

Do I gather Laura Robson won? At least that'd be something.....

Can I still come to another party if we have one please? They seem like good fun

Morning all.

Surprised I don't have a headache after all the champagne, but I did drink gallons of water when I left.

How are we all?

I've put a couple of bottles of fizz in the thread fridge and a few sandwiches so help yourselves.

Friends coming for the weekend so today is big cleaning day. Having my hair done on Friday so I won't look like an old crone. Then a further clean-up. I love having friends come to stay but it is always so much work!!!!

See you all later

Thanks for leaving the leftovers in the fridge. I just had a quick cucumber sandwich to keep me going Am looking forward to some more tennis later.....and then there's the Confederations Cup semi-final tonight (football )

Don't overdo the cleaning. I always say that friends come to see you, not your house

Have a good day all

I'm watching - fascinating match. What has happened to Hewitt's serve? But his Aussie cheerleading choir are in good form. No - our Aussie isn't amongst them!

I've just realised why the red button service wouldn't work yesterday afternoon - you lot broke it!!!
