Well done Augusta for half watching the tennis!! I have been glued to it myself, whenever I had the opportunity Glad Murray is through, Janowicz turned out to be a bit immature, I thought.

Now it's all set up for two finals - ladies tomorrow, mens on Sunday What a weekend

it was a very impressive match...what time is the final tomorrow?

I do find watching tennis mesmerising....its a very good spectator sport isn't it....there is the skill involved of the players and a points system that is straightforward but not so obvious that it is too easy.....

and then I turned over to watch BB.....

morning everyone...

Morning all

Just saw a wonderful lobster dish on Saturday Kitchen.

Women's final build-up is at 1.30 with match at 2 pm. Same for tomorrow.

The Djokovich/Del Portro match imo is one of the best I've ever seen. Really some of the finest shots I have ever seen. Real battle of the warriors.

Didn't watch all of Murray's match - a bit of an anti-climax I thought.

I am really sorry that Sherlock has been postponed.

Have a lovely day today and keep cool and well hydrated everyone.

Agreed nyannie it was just out of this world

I did watch Murray's match to the end but I have to say I was exhausted so didn't really take it in to its full extent (goodness only knows how the players feel)

Have a lovely day all

So sorry to hear your father-in-law isn't well georgy. It is a big worry, I know from experience. Hope all is better very soon.

As for the Middle East? Don't know what to make of it all. Only thing I remember from my history classes is that much of the Middle East is 'tribal'/power in the hands of a few families. Don't think that is the case in Egypt where women have been free and don't have to wear the veil.

Looking forward to the Ashes and so pleased about the Lions. Not clear if they have any more matches.

I was really cross with the tennis coverage yesterday - so blatantly biased towards Lisicki - and NO interview with Marion Bartoli although they managed to make time for Andy Murray.
Really cross. . .

Has anyone kept track of how long it is til John comes over? I have thought he'd be over here for the Ashes

Keep cool everyone.

So glad to hear you are having a break. I was in Malaga about 40 years ago when I was hitchhiking around Europe. As I can remember the town has a lovely church and there are some interesting places around.

When are you going?

Hi Georgy

Sorry your father in law still isn't well. And the situation in Egypt looks worrying - when you have family there it must be horrible to watch the very dramatic news broadcasts we've been getting

Hope you are able to watch the tennis today - and let's hope it's a good match

Take care of yourself xx

Me too nyannie Everything seemed to be commented on through the prism of Lisicki's interest. Also I'm not sure I felt entirely sorry for her. I may be wrong, but she struck me as one of those girls who is used to using tears and fluttering eyelashes to gain sympathy. Sorry Ms Lisicki if I'm wrong !!

As for the crowd....blatant favouritism and couldn't even bring themselves to give Marion Bartoli decent applause when she won. I was not happy with it at all Was really pleased though to see someone a bit unconventional get the win

As for Murray - yes, I'll be supporting him, but admiring Djokovic's play at the same time

Enjoy the tennis!

I'm taking a break from the tennis. I know Murray is winning and is the big British hope, but there is very little commentating about Djokovic and the crowds are well -

I don't think Djokovic is firing on all cylinders - he really isn't playing the way that he did in the Del Portro match.

There was very little coverage of Djokovic in the Sunday papers and now we have a set highlights (all Murray) in between the rest periods - fed up! I always thought the British sports presenters were fair, but not from what I've seen in the past two days - NOT HAPPY!!! Not even during the Olympics was there this much 'favouritism' - Boris Becker has just mentioned Djokovic - first time in about 20 minutes!!!

I am happy for Andy - I think he will win - but cannot stand the commentary - they really should have John McEnroe in there instead of Andrew Castle.

Hi all

Well, Andy did it

Really pleased for him and his family and team. I thought the crowd showed more respect for Djokovic than they did for Bartoli ......but I agree nyannie, the BBC coverage was a disgrace in terms of bias, really embarrassing

Wonder whether it's the same around the world?

Anyway, from a personal point of view, go Andy! (I'm not a pundit )

I suspect it is, there will always be a bias towards the country a sporting event is held in - I think it's inevitable.

I am absolutely thrilled for Andy, what an atmosphere. I thought the crowd were wonderful and what a lovely moment when Djokovich's parents went to congratulate Andy's mum.

Did anyone notice it was all the sevens?
77 years since Fred Perry won and Andy won on 7/7.
Also Virginia Wade won in 1977.

It's still 75f here according to thermometer, I'm exhausted so I'll be back tomorrow. Have a good evening everyone.

Loving the weather by the way, wish it was like this all year round.

Have to agree with you on all counts Lindy. I went to the French Open years ago when Mary Pearce (French) was in the final and it really wasn't as bad - really!

I am pleased for Andy, he - and his team - worked very hard but I still don't think the match was a great one. The Del Portro/Djokovic was THE best match of the 2013 Wimbledon - imo. I did leave a comment to points of view about Andrew Castle - his commentating annoyed me so much!!!

I agree about the Del Potro/ Djokovic match

I also think Andy played brilliantly yesterday in all the circumstances. He played like a man on a mission (which of course he was) and gave Djokovic no chance. Some of the rallies were unbelievably intense If not quite up to the creative standard of the DelPo match

Maybe we'll get a Del Potro/ Murray final somewhere - that would be something to see
