Hmmmm....weather turning more unpredictable!

BBC website says it will be 32 degrees here tomorrow, and as for tonight, I quote:

''A sultry and uncomfortable night to sleep in the towns and cities. It will be a little cooler in the countryside and near to the coast.''

Whereas Metcheck , which I often use, says it will be 28 degrees.....possibly with some storms

So I am just hoping for the best

Edit: enjoy the lamb, nyannie

Good evening, hope you're all well.

Pleased to hear you're ok Georgy and that you've recharged those batteries a little.

Haven't heard from Diane lately, hope you're ok if your reading this.

So after a dull cooler day yesterday, normal service has been resumed, 28c today and not a cloud in the sky.

Hot again tomorrow and then it's much cooler and overcast for the rest of the week.
Typical o/h is home this week and we were planning a few trips out.

Big family wedding on Thursday and now they're forecasting showers.

Little sis came down today and I'm now sporting a much shorter haircut, just need to touch up the grey roots and I'm ready to go.

Is it this week that John arrives?
Did anyone see Mario on BBbots the other night? Wonder if John will be hanging out with him again?

I struggle with Rylan and his 'doggie dentures'.

a lovely lazy weekend.......next weekend im meant to be going to a travelling art exhibition at Henham Hall, in Norfolk, I was meant to be going with OH, but it looks like he is going to be busy decorating..... Never mind, maybe daughter can come instead.....

have a lovely evening everyone

still no news from John...

Hi all

Been out most of the day, first of all to an outdoor production of Taming of the Shrew by the Globe Theatre touring company. Lovely occasion but the play is really not my thing......I found it quite offensive in parts Anyway we were very lucky that it was a bit cooler today, and also that our seats just happened to be in shade. Phew! That was a relief We were with a group, one of whom had actually fainted - gone out cold - while queuing for something in town yesterday. She was sporting a black eye and other bruises - brave lady though, she stepped out again today

Then on with the group to a pre-booked meal - gazpacho soup, salmon en croute and strawberry pavlova. Yum!

Back home now to find a note from daughter, who will be bringing two friends back with her later tonight. Despite myself, found myself rushing around emptying bins and making beds at 11pm . My own fault entirely, no-one insists I do it, but you know, we all have some minimum standards, don't we?

Now off to bed after a long day.

Sleep well JJAT xx :yawn::sleep::sleep:

Im glad im not the only one who does this.......when told of unexpected visitors staying the night before they all went to the festival, I did exactly the same......

I think my girls missed out on the try and give a good impression to visitors thing, that my mum insisted on.....as they tell me its totally irrelevant. Im just not so sure !!!

Hi bblover

Good to see you and hope you enjoy the hot weather. For us, I think the BBCforecast of a hot and uncomfortable night is turning out to be right!

I really think it's amazing what an effect the weather has on us. Makes me wonder how much comparatively slight changes may affect our well-being

Morning all.

Have a lovely time at the wedding Lena.

Just been out to fill water for birds, water pots and take out the rubbish and recycling - asked o/h to do it - and bring in some salt for the water softener but he conveniently forgot. Very very humid outside and it feels more like 26 degrees than 17.

Guess we shouldn't complain too much about the weather. My cousin told me it was 100 degrees fahrenheit in NY and that her air con was struggling.

Hope we get some storms to clear the air. It is making my asthma more difficult.

Hope John likes the weather - and that England won the second test.

Did anyone see Mario on BBOTS?

Keep hydrated - and cool everyone.

Yes - I saw Mario on BOTS - he was fine. He's still a BB fan and obviously had been following the show and knew what he was talking about. Which is more than can be said about some guests.

Last day of summer according to the forecasters, so I reckon that Nyannie's raindance is paying off - worst luck!

If John's tweet was accurate, he should be here by now - but sums don't seem to be his strong point Of course, he may be in disguise...

COME OUTOF HIDING JOHN - YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO!

That announcement made me cry with laughter.

Cloudless sky again today, very warm 27c plus. rain expected tomorrow for down here and a little cooler.

Are you here John??? Waving if you are.

I too thought John had arrived. Guess we will hear from him when he wants us to - if in fact, he wants us to know his movements.

I wouldn't say this is the last day of summer, only the last day of the oppressive heat. I brought my bins in and the post from my neighbours (they are in Disneyland Paris) and had to have a shower.

Hope we get some rain tonight - tired of schlepping watering cans around.

I have a question for Ali or someone technical....

Its about David Cameron's latest idea to block porn sites...I am really really curious about the practicalities of this. On one level I can see that there might be a need to make some kinds of porn less accessible and everyday. The same as when I was a child, I don't think anyone really was unable to access porn, but it had more of a 'naughty' 'forbidden' streak, so that it wasn't quite so everyday and acceptable as it seems to be now.

But how on earth are the internet providers going to block this kind of material? At the moment people like Google are international with international access. How does a company restrict access to certain information in a certain geographical area? And what on earth is then going to stop anyone from using a US or European search provider instead?

and where do these providers draw the line between ''innocent '' porn like page 3 topless girls and less salubrious stuff? Will this ban block all the tabloid papers that contain anything topless? or artistic?

and how on earth are sites like Twitter and youtube going to be monitored? to stop pornographic images being downloaded on there? I think in the past year, Its only twitter where I have seen what I call pornographic images, as ive clicked on a link others are chatting about, only to wish I hadn't....

Happy Belated Birthday georgy, hope you enjoyed your special day and were spoiled rotten - you deserve some nice treats.

Glad the baby has been born - took them almost 5 hours I think to announce it. I really hope the baby will be brought up to experience as normal life as possible - away from the stuffy formality of the palace.

Saw the interesting play about Richard Burton and Liz Taylor doing Private Lives - wonderful - as was the interesting program about Richard Burton's Diaries (have just ordered them from Amazon). Two people who really loved each other but couldn't live together without destroying each other.

John - if you are in the UK - could you please let us know? Thanks!!!!

Sadly I am grumpy today - too humid to sleep - think I got 3 hours. No lightning, no rain here - just humidity. Feel like a soggy blanket!
