Morning all. Off to London shortly.

So glad to hear that your family are safe georgy. It must be a very big worry for you.

Georgy I'd love to meet up but can't do until middle/end of August - am going to the Paris Exhibition at the Wallace Collection with a friend soon and have dentist, hospital appts etc.

My garden is looking great at the moment - don't understand why people use sprinklers for their lawn - as soon as it rains it picks up.

Have a good day and hopefully see you later.

Evening JJat

sounds great, we will sort something out, anytime really is good for me, i just move things around a bit

going up tomorrow,
son has been asking to go to Madame Tussauds,
think he wants to see if he is as tall as David Beckham
not my sort of thing
but i,m sure we will have fun

by the way, i have bright orange nails
looked red in the nail bar until i came out,
blaming it on there lighting,
it couldn't be my eyesight
now just waiting to see if i will
actually glow in the night

Hiya Georgy

No I didn't as it happens .....am completely out of touch on that front (pun intended......)

Madame Tussaud's shouldn't be too bad as long as you can beat the crowds - I hear that people queue from dawn - well, or quite early, anyway!

Hope everyone's had a good day .....it's quiet in here......oops, don't want to disturb anyone's beauty sleep

Goodnight all

Sleep tight :sleep::sleep:

Morning all.

Like Lindy I haven't watched BB this year - none of them really interests me - although I do occasionally look at the various forum threads.

Have fun at Madame Tussauds georgy - hope you go to the Planetarium too - very interesting.

Had a lovely time in London yesterday. Off to Windsor soon with a friend. Have to buy more cotton socks!!!!!

O/H has decided to take today and tomorrow off. Hope he does something constructive like defrost and clean the larder fridge rather than spend the day with his lathe and then complain his feet hurt!!!!

Houghton Hall sounds wonderful Augusta

How long is the exhibition on, I wonder? Guess it would be too far for me so really I'm just daydreaming........

Georgy I might be able to meet in London though am still working at the moment. Should be finished end of August (apart from a few occasional sessions) so am definitely up for the (ahem..) Christmas meet
Houghton Hall revisited is on until the end of September.

Going out for lunch yesterday for my birthday was wonderful...lovely and memorable. My birthday is on the 15th, the week after next.

we are away on holiday on Friday, a lovely week away...., So I wont be around next week, but I will be around the week after that.

Isnt it crazy though how much preparation a few days away takes, there is all the washing and ironing , and the purchasing of lashings of suncream etc....

OH has taken a few days off this week to do a bit of DIY, before we go away ...and having him around is so exhausting ! He is off in his garage pottering around for hours, yet when he wants me to do something, im expected to drop everything and dash off to B& Q. And there seem to be lots of bits and bobs being delivered, that Im having to stay in for.....

Im sort of keeping up with BB this year, but don't really have any favourites, so it is quite entertaining to watch them and see what they are all getting up to...

maybe we can catch up and do something later in the summer Georgy? I haven't been to the Madame Tussauds for years. Was he taller than Beckham?

Hey guys

Glad to hear people are getting out and about. Hope you enjoyed your trip to Windsor nyannie, and augusta I hope you have a great holiday

Am still here writing up this project report.....5,000+ words so far and I've barely started. OH says to keep it up - if I write enough, he says, they won't bother reading it and will just tick it off as done! Well, we'll see about that, won't we?

Going to be hot tomorrow so need to get ahead. Other jobs include unblocking a sink, putting out the bins, doing the washing.......still these things do make a break from the @@@@ report! Oooh, and I've just remembered the Old Trafford Ashes Test starts tomorrow (come on our batsmen!). And at the weekend we've got a barbecue one day, and a croquet match the next (not that I can even hit the ball, or puck, or whatever it's called ). Feel exhausted just thinking about it all........

Best get some rest, I think...sleep tight all :sleep:

Morning all.

Just closed the windows, shades and curtains upstairs - although o/h is still upstairs reading the paper.

Great sale in Windsor and I bought o/h great jacket at Austin Reed - less than half price. Just hope it fits! I am going to compare it to the jacket he already wears.

Anyway, must get going as more to do before it gets too hot!!!!

I hope the holiday is going to be brilliant Augusta.
I'm dreadful about getting packed and prepared - last minute panics are a way of life. Wish I could change, but I guess I'm not going to now

Nyannie, I can just imagine that you home is the coolest place in Britain! lol

I hate to sound organized for our holiday in September, but I've bought Travel wipes and wash, imodium, paracetamol, voltarole, samples of toothpaste the dentist gave me, prescription for my asthma drugs, old passport, new passport, marriage licence copy, travel insurance - and I've ordered my money. I also have all the guidebooks and maps and phrase book.

Just put air con on as it now 26 downstairs.

Have to get my ankle brace replaced, it is leaking air and I am constantly having to pump it up. Not a good look!

No news of John? I wonder if he is even coming here!!!!

Morning Diane

I think the heat has affected most of us. It was really awful upstairs last night. Had the fan going for an hour before I went up. Thank goodness that heat is over!

Very dark out. Wonder if it is going to pour with rain. I have all the windows open!

I'm like you Diane - there have been other good things on TV and to be honest, I don't think any of this year's BB contestants are much good. Want to see who goes into CBB though. I think Rylan has put me off BBOTS and it is on too late. When I think how I used to watch John and Josie - maybe I have outgrown it.

Hope everyone has a good day and I hope augusta enjoys her break.

No news of John. Wonder if he was really coming to the UK

Good evening

we never made it, to Madame Tussauds,

son woke up with a swollen knee, part of his disabilities are lax ligaments, which can put pressure on the joints, so to queue for hours was out. All good now

Going to give them a ring and see what they can do for us, i think you can book, and shorten the waiting time

just going to read and see what you, have all been up to

Hi all

Just got back from a very enjoyable reunion of staff from the office I used to work in (until December 2012). Twelve ladies of a certain age in a busy Wetherspoons on a hot evening in August - need I say more?

Anyway sleep tight all    And have a good weekend

Morning all.

Hope your son is better georgy. I have loose ligaments too as a result of my hypermobility. Not much I can do for my pain but hope there is something they can do for your son. Evidently, people with hypermobility have 'loose collagen' so everything is very flexible.

Hope augusta gets a good rest.

Off to do some chores - want to see Harry Potter again.

Hello Nyannie

not really much they can do, with rest the swelling goes down, does seem to affect the knee joints more than the rest.
We try and get him in the pool to gently strengthen as much as possible, but he really doesn't enjoy it much.

how are you doing with your treatment, any improvement
hope you had a good day

By the Way Lindy

did you see Steven Gerrards testimonial
on the new Bt Channel
They brought Robbie Fowler on
great to see him back at Anfield ,
he only needed to be,
a few pounds lighter
with a little more pace
and he would of,
and nearly did, score

Hi Georgy

Yep I did -- really enjoyed it and am loving BT Sport so far. Good to have a change of style, content and commentators to give a bit of variety from Sky. Though the Ashes on Sky still takes some beating

Night all :yawn::sleep::sleep:

Afternoon all.

Wish there was something they could do for your son georgy. It must be so worrying for you.

Lindy, what are you doing up so late? Hope you are getting enough rest.

I have just written a letter of objection - developer is very crafty, only wants 25 houses so he doesn't need to build affordable housing - and it is the last field in the village. Hope it is refused.

Well, no news of John. Somehow I think he isn't coming to the UK.

Hi all

Well, last night we had been to a barbecue. We were asked to be there at 4.30pm and no food appeared until 8.30 I was practically in a state of collapse Also it got very cold as the evening went on, but the host kept insisting we stay outside and make the most of his new patio etc! Actually it reminded me a bit of some of the BB gardens....they had decking, a hot tub, a sauna, den with a dartboard, snooker table, table tennis and kitchen, as well as a full office upstairs......but they still insisted we sit outside I did need to warm up when I got back, had a relaxing hour in front of the Ashes highlights.

Well, you did ask!!

Another barbecue today, and croquet on the lawn.... To be frank I will be quite pleased to sit down and watch The White Queen ( I am still hanging on in there despite some of the historical absurdity , I find it quite relaxing

Am not moaning about all this gadding about, honestly. I feel very lucky to have the opportunity.....just need to get my feet up now. Back to work tomorrow!

Night all if I don't come back later...if you see what I mean!

Morning all!

Lindy, we went to a friend's house years ago and had the same situation. We arrived at 7 and no food arrived until 10 pm so we left at 11 when still no dessert or coffee arrived. Never been there again.

Did anyone else hear the Food Programme on Radio 4 ? Evidently the bananas we eat are becoming extinct and they all derive from one plant. I love bananas and I do make a very good banana bread.

Off soon to meet a friend and do some shopping.

Still no news of John. Hope he is OK.

Just had an email from a friend in NZ and she said they had quite a few earthquakes recently. Very worrying.

Anyway, have a good day all. Hope augusta is enjoying her break.
