Hi Georgy

Yep I did -- really enjoyed it and am loving BT Sport so far. Good to have a change of style, content and commentators to give a bit of variety from Sky. Though the Ashes on Sky still takes some beating

Night all :yawn::sleep::sleep:

Lindy xx

yes the BT channel does look good, but nothing beats the
cricket commentators funny bunch to listen to
and we have play today
why is it not raining in Manchester
lets see if we can bat out for the draw, and retain the ashes

but liverpool looked good pre season lindy
let hope we can get this suarez mess sorted
not keen on him as a person
but i do think we need him

Afternoon all.

Wish there was something they could do for your son georgy. It must be so worrying for you.

Lindy, what are you doing up so late? Hope you are getting enough rest.

I have just written a letter of objection - developer is very crafty, only wants 25 houses so he doesn't need to build affordable housing - and it is the last field in the village. Hope it is refused.

Well, no news of John. Somehow I think he isn't coming to the UK.
yes nyannie
its a bit of a worry, but life
you count your blessing
you see others, far worse of, and he is such a happy,
gentle boy

good new with Madame Tussauds
rang them up and explained the situation
and they were so helpful
it turns out we can go in at a set time, no queuing
and because of his difficulties, he only pays £15 pounds
and as a carer, i go in free.
so that was a nice surprise.

hope you get the planning refused
you take the greens out of the villages
and its never the same
Good Luck

Hi all

Well, last night we had been to a barbecue. We were asked to be there at 4.30pm and no food appeared until 8.30 I was practically in a state of collapse Also it got very cold as the evening went on, but the host kept insisting we stay outside and make the most of his new patio etc! Actually it reminded me a bit of some of the BB gardens....they had decking, a hot tub, a sauna, den with a dartboard, snooker table, table tennis and kitchen, as well as a full office upstairs......but they still insisted we sit outside I did need to warm up when I got back, had a relaxing hour in front of the Ashes highlights.

Well, you did ask!!

Another barbecue today, and croquet on the lawn.... To be frank I will be quite pleased to sit down and watch The White Queen I am still hanging on in there despite some of the historical absurdity , I find it quite relaxing

Am not moaning about all this gadding about, honestly. I feel very lucky to have the opportunity.....just need to get my feet up now. Back to work tomorrow!

Night all if I don't come back later...if you see what I mean!

Lindy xx
4 HOURS before they fed you
i would of have been drunk ,
and with all that on offer, you would of thought they
would of, allowed you indoors
glad you got to warm up
at home

So glad to hear about Madam Tussauds. Many places do the same.

I am taking my o/h to a really nice place for his big birthday. I just called to explain that I had to wear trainers because of my ankle problem. Really nice - no problem. Just pays to call people. I know the theatres and South Bank don't charge for carers either. Hope you have a lovely time at MT's.

Had a great time with my friend. We always have such a laugh. I have an old Miele vacuum cleaner and no where sells the bags - can you believe it? My vc works really well and is easy to use - unlike the Sebo Felix we bought for our now disappeared cleaner. The Sebo is heavy and awkward - I hate it!!!!!

Anyway, have done lots of ironing and watched the garden drinking up the rain. Some plants look instantaneously better.

Have a lovely evening.

So glad England has retained the ashes. Guess my Indian Rain dances did the trick!

Hi all, hope you are all well, sorry haven't popped in in a while, absorbed in BB when I'm around. I'm loving it, especially the Live Feed - tonight was explosive to say the least Don't have a fave, but that makes the threads more fun.

Just read back a few pages, you are all keeping busy I see. Laura's been very busy these holidays, trips to theme parks here, there and everywhere.

Can't believe it's 5:30, I have to get a few hours kip as I'm driving Mum to the hospital and back home later.

I'll pop in a bit more often. Love to you all Ali xx

Hi muggins

So good to see you. Sounds like you have been very very busy
- we have missed you!

Glad to hear Laura is well and you are keeping busy.

Sad to say I don't think many of us have been watching BB this year. Too many things to do.

Hope your mother is OK. Keep well and let's see more of you here.

Lots of lovexxx

Morning all.

England have retained the Ashes by some miracle! Yea, Yeah

Sun is shining and NOT hot! Garden is looking happy now that it has had some rain and lawn is recovering.

Spent last night ordering bulbs for the autumn and ordering some books on Amazon.

Off to Dulwich Picture Gallery soon with a friend. Have a joyous drive on the South Circular - yuch. Making sure I have water.

See you later.

Morning all.

Hope you are feeling better Lindy - gargling with salt water also helps - and STEAM inhalations. I'm starting to take zinc and immunity tablets. Make sure you get some rest.

Hope you have a lovely day georgy! Hope you and your son enjoy Madame T's.

The exhibition of British artists at Dulwich was great but it did take forever to get there. I printed out instructions from the useful RAC website but my friend took the very long way around so it took about 2 hrs!!!!!

I agree with you georgy about this year's BB. I stopped watching as I didn't like any of the contestants. There has also been a lot of really good programs on TV this year which have competed with it.

Am letting o/h sleep as he has the day off and it is his BIG BIG birthday today!!!!

O/H's big day marred because he lost (got thrown out) something he had been working on for quite a while.

I took him to his favourite curry house for dinner and we are going away for the weekend.

Hope georgy and her son had a good time. Can't believe how the week has flown by - augusta will be back tomorrow I think.

Just put a wash on.

Have a good day all.

Hope things are on the up now nyannie I think birthdays can be quite difficult, especially big ones. At least you can move on now

Today hasn't been the best for me, I have to say......daughter 'lost' her car documents so couldn't get a tax disc . She's at work so I've spent hours looking (when I should be finishing my report) and so far have come up with the insurance and MOT docs .....it's just the V5 registration now! All dates from her moving in a rather unplanned way in March.....neither she nor we expected her to be here.....and I guess that's her excuse!

Poor thing, it's horrible when you can't find something essential

As your o/ h knows, nyannie!!

Hi to you all, hope you're all still enjoying our lovely summer.

I haven't been to Madame Tussaud's for years, one of my favourite places along with the fabulous Planetarium. Hope you and your son had a great day georgy.

Hoping for some clear nights as I'm really looking forward to the Perseid meteor shower, could see as many as 100 meteors an hour.

Pleased to hear you enjoyed your visit to the Dulwich exhibition nyannie.
I was born in Dulwich just off of Lordship Lane. Mum used to walk us to Dulwich Park in the summer or in the other direction over Peckham Rye to feed the red squirrels. Happy days.

Dulwich is beautiful - you really are a true Londoner Lena. Don't think you would see any red squirrels sadly.

Rain last night so at least I don't have to water the pots before we go.

Must dash as I have loads to do before we go. O/h back to work for the morning so I will have to pack for him too!

See you all Sunday maybe.

Thank you Nyannie
he had a wonderful time
sadly not as tall as Beckham,
a lot taller than Tom Cruise
but about the same height as Bond (Daniel Craig) lol

we arrived at 11, the queue was already a 3 hours wait
but were
shown straight in, and they were so helpful, explained each section and what it contained, strobe lighten that sort of thing
So a big thank you to them

trying to keep him amused this holiday
he is a bit worried about the new college course,
so trying to take his mind of it
but also trying to build some confidence, doing different things,
its a big step, but we know he can do it

Happy belated Birthday to your hubs
have a lovely weekend away
