![]() im trying to catch up after being away last week. no news from John, maybe he Is here incognito? and trying and succeeding..... to avoid everyone??? whats the weather like where you are? Spain, was ridiculously hot...but lovely and relaxing.... but my poor garden is looking a bit parched now. I was told the planetarium had moved? and was now in Greenwich park. as part of the Greenwich meantime exhibitions? And I too hate losing paperwork.......I realised when I got my new car I didn't cancel the old insurance....I told DVLA that it was scrapped, but only had a month left to go, so didn't realise that it was so important to cancel the silly thing. Then I needed it for my no claims bonus, just after I had had a bonfire with all the old paperwork !!! oops..... They did however send me out another when I phoned them. After hours on the phone..

Morning everyone. Back to reality for me - washing on, bags unpacked, rubbish taken out.
Had a lovely time although they are experimenting with a new cheeseboard - awful and boy did we tell them. Don't want cheese I can get in the supermarket or local deli!!!! Glad you had a good time augusta - and bblover - so glad to see you posting. What have you been up to? Well, must start the ironing - want to watch the World Championships in Athletics and the Ashes highlights. Georgy, you are right - it is the smallest trophy in the world. |

Good afternoon everyone, thankyou all for your birthday wishes.
![]() Had a good day with some lovely cards and gifts, and a night off from cooking. Delicious fish and chips from our favourite local restaurant, we really lead the high life rofl. ![]() Good to see you back augusta. Sounds as if you had a great time and recharged those batteries. ![]() Hi nyannie, hope your weekend was good despite the cheese board. Did your o/h enjoyed his birthday treat? ![]() You're absolutely right, you come down to earth with a bump when you get home and back to all the chores that are waiting. Good to see you bblover, hope all is well. I've watched some of this years BB, but I have been dismayed by the amount of blatant manipulation of situations and housemates by the producers and obvious bias towards favourites in the name of entertainment. The ones that are left are a pretty unpleasant bunch, I really hope that Sam wins, he's the only decent one in there. Is it right that there is one big surprise that will be revealed at the end by Emma? Imagine their faces if it was revealed that there is no prize money! ![]() Hoping for a few clear nights from tonight, I shall be most disappointed if i don't see the Perseid display. |

evening all...
Nyannie what a shame about the cheese board......I hope they do change it . Ive quite liked some of the manipulation and gameplaying of this years BB. They have created talking points and interest, without putting too many housemates through the mill.. But I do agree that none of the housemates left are that likeable. I still quite like Dexter and Gina, but admit both are flawed and Im not sure I would like any of them in real life. I will have to look out of the window at the display, we are lucky that at night there isn't too much light pollution here, unlike in Spain, where cos of the nightlife, most of the lights were on all night. |

Morning all!
I hate reality sometimes - my mound of washing has now turned into an ironing mountain and I feel as if I've lost the battle before I have even started! Need to do a good thorough clean downstairs. Haven't done more than a 'lick and a promise' since the hot weather started. I have, however, always cleaned the bathrooms and the kitchen. I am going to look for the display tomorrow night Lena, but we have so much light pollution, I don't know if I will see anything. We now have difficulty getting out of our driveway as they have closed the road outside our cul de sac and we now have to drive all around the estate - and we have had lots of noise over the weekend - so the council can get the school open. Dreadful!!! Still, I'm going to Windsor tomorrow with my friend next door so we will have a lovely time I'm sure! Haven't watched much of BB, just the odd 10 minutes here and there. I really don't like any of them and really think it is time BB stopped for a while. Looks like many of the tasks have been recycled from other series. Hasn't grabbed my attention at all. As for John - I wonder if he really has come over here. |

And im fascinated at how differently people see certain housemates. Like Hazel.....![]() I have got so much I am meant to be doing at the moment, but im still in holiday mood..... |

Morning all.
Hope you are still in the holiday mood augusta. Isn't it quiet on here? I looked at the sky last night - although it was a clear night, I couldn't see anything much. Finished the ironing mountain - only one pair of trousers to do before it starts again! Have a good day all. |

Morning everyone. Where has all the good weather gone - it's colder today. Oh well, I suspect Nyannie is pleased!
I'm enjoying this year's BB too Augusta - best since BB11. I don't have a particular favourite but as a group they are interesting. Dexter and Gina are entertaining - though I wouldn't want to be sharing that house with Gina the Diva. Sam seems much younger than he really is - a bit like a 14 year old, but I admire the way he's coped in there without whinging that he can't follow when they all speak at once. Not mad about Sophie or Charlie. Twins can be funny - but not quite as funny as they imagine... Shame Dan went through one of BBs dafter twists - think he was my fav. Yep - our John has gone to ground again - even the Ashes haven't made him break cover since the first test. Come out John - we miss you! |

Im still relaxed from the holiday, but today I have a long list of things to do.....!!!
Like starting to clear out the loft and my work stuff...which is an immense job. So far I have written my to do list....now I need a coffee break!!! I did get up at midnight last night and venture into the garden. the sky was incredibly clear, and I saw a couple of flashes dash across the sky, but it was all a bit indistinct. never mind...... chat later xxx |

Just popping in on lunch break
![]() Think we're all trying to get some sort of balance between work / housework / social life etc Trying and failing miserably, in my case......am still here at the laptop finishing my mammoth project report ![]() The good news is....I've nearly finished it! (tentative ). It's mostly now down to finding a way of getting it online, and for that I need other people to help me. The problem is, everyone seems to be ''out of the office until 20th / 27th August'' Sometimes feels as if I'm the only one working.....can't be true, can it? ![]() Anyway, back later. Have a good day all xx

I am watching this years B/B just the daily show ,don't know how to get the 2 hrs live feed they show every night. They are a strange house everyone much for themselves not much loyalty in there and too much unfair B/B manipulation for me. My favourite from the start is Dexter he has been up for eviction every single week and survived, he has had to be strong in there, some nasty people around. In my opinion he is a brilliant housemate and a good person .
I hope everyone 's having a good summer and enjoyed your holidays. Im just watching the daily show as well. I think the live feed is online, so if you go to the C5 facebook page for BB, then the link to the LF is on there. But I've never been one for staying up that late to watch LF, I always used to like the mornings, when they would all awake and emerge bleary eyed...!!! I think its interesting that with C5, there are so few walkers.....Im not sure if this is the first series where no one has walked...and/ or been replaced? I was wondering if it might be because they are less stressed without LF? and they know they are only being watched for part of the time? Or if its to do with those selected to entertain us this year? I no longer see the show as anything to do with reality ....its much more to do now with providing us with an entertaining show, with an entertaining mix of characters.....that contains certain issues....like how women are meant to behave etc....In a way its much closer to TOWIE and Geordie shores than the original BB ever was. im not sure if that is a good or bad thing? In some ways its good its had a bit of a drastic makeover....but its almost impossible now to get a real sense of who the characters/hm really are. The producers have mixed it up a bit, and messed around drastically with nominations, so that the entertaining characters have remained in until the end...I think every week its been fairly obvious who is going to leave. I also think I read somewhere they got rid of the previous years task teams, and introduced a new team with some new ideas. So ive got an impression that this years tasks are more interesting, but having said that, I cant actually remember any of this years tasks!!!! I like Sam, and think he has coped well with his hearing loss, and he does look fairly cute, but .....he isn't that charismatic or interesting. I like Gina, but cant quite get to grips with whether or not she is really a spoilt little rich girl, or if that was just an act to make her more interesting? The same with Dexter, part of him I really like, but this Charlie and Dexter thing is getting extremely irritating, and I cannot imagine what on earth someone like Dexter would see in her? Sophie is sweet, but like Sam seems to have done almost nothing, and the twins have irritated me since day one... I have no idea who I want to win.....which is unusual, but, I have enjoyed watching the process of seeing them in the house. |

Morning all.
Hope everyone is happy. Hate to remind everyone but our Christmas thread meet-up is only a few months away and I will have to make our booking for lunch at the end of next month to ensure we get in. The restaurant is in Covent Garden and will cost about £25 per head (depending on what you eat). We thought a Saturday in early December would be best as everyone gets frantic closer to Christmas. We also usually do a Secret Santa gift of no more than £3. More details will be sent by PM Would you all have a think about whether you would like to come and send me a PM by the 27 September. If anyone would like to come but doesn't know London very well, I can arrange for you to be met at a mainline train station. |

Just seen the news.....terrible events in Egypt
![]() Do hope your husband's family are safe georgy, I know they don't live in the areas mainly affected, but still.....I remember when we had the riots in towns here a couple of years ago, that was just a few nights and was mainly looting, but it was very disturbing. Words fail me as to how it must feel to be in Egypt at this point.. ![]() All the best xx |

Doesn't mean you all can't meet without me though. Let me know what others think. I am pleased it has been a bit cooler - sorry all - but I am actually able to sleep at night - and the garden got a good drink last night so I didn't have to trudge out with my watering cans. |
