After a lovely warm sunny day yesterday (I spent a little while in the garden topping up my batteries and my tan) it's cool and grey today.

August really seems to have struggled to reach 20c, guess we were spoiled in July. I don't want summer to end.

Still nothing from John, not even a tweet about England winning the Ashes?

For one mad moment I thought I spotted him in the crowd at Chester-le-Street ......but I don't think it was really him

However I guess I did have more of an eye on the actual cricket!

Re our Christmas meet up

I can't make any Saturday in December, unfortunately

However as nyannie was unable to make it last year, I think you should go ahead with 7 December ...you never know, my current party might be cancelled or something, and then I'd be able to come!

Not that I'm looking for an excuse to pick the better option.... xx

Hope all is well with your family georgy. Hope you enjoyed your big day augusta.

Just had a thought.

How about meeting in January for our thread lunch? Might be easier for all.

Let me have your thoughts on this.

Hi all

I think that a date in January is a good idea, though I don't think I can make the first Saturday....am still getting o/ h to check commitments . Perhaps the second Saturday would be okay?

The alternative might be a weekday in December. Does everyone / anyone have a regular day off??

Over to you, peeps!

Night night :yawn::sleep: xx

Afternoon all.

Just waiting for the athletics to be on. Have done some houseworki and trying to rest my feet. Been in a bit of pain though.

Think January might be best as I personally have no free Saturdays in Dec except for the first one - how about everyone else?

Finished making copies of itinerary and other information for our neighbours who are looking after the house. Have also bought plasters, paracetamol etc for the trip. Will be ordering money on Monday. Want o/h to get some too but you never know. At least we have the travel insurance and EHI cards - and I've dug out my money belt.

Need to make copies of our passports though.

No news of John I see - wonder what he is doing. Wonder if he is pleased that England won the ashes.

See you later maybe. Have a good day everyone!

Iets do 2 dates, one the first Saturday in December and then one in January as well, and see which one gets the most votes.?

or I might be able to do an afternoon during the week, in December, so maybe we could meet up at 2ish for a late lunch, or afternoon tea?

The amount of preparation for holidays is crazy isn't it, im sure it will all be worth it , when you get there.

The bottom of the garden Is now looking a bit tidier....but apart from the apple trees, and sunflowers, a lot of the garden is looking a bit sad and thirsty....

Hi Augusta

I don t like the idea of you dashing out of work for a late meeting - that's no way to relax and enjoy meeting up! So yes, maybe we need alternative dates and see what people can do.......

Meanwhile back to the chores.....I neglected them while watching the Liverpool win on BT Sports today YAYYY!!!!

Hi georgy, good to hear they are all safe and that they have a contingency if needed. Thought of your family as soon as I saw the news, what a scary world we live in.
Thanks Lena

Morning all.

How are we all? Good to see you georgy. I do worry when you haven't posted for a day or so. Hope your family is OK.

OK folks, January it is. How about the 3rd Saturday in January? Still sale time and it should help us recover from post-Xmas blues.

Will give you the precise date when I look it up. Let me know by PM if you have any preferred dates in January. Same place we met last time - only upstairs!

Off to the dentist soon - want to ensure everything is OK before the big trip.

No news of John? At this rate I will have forgotten what he looks like.

Have a good day everyone.

Sorry to worry you Nyannie,
its the college break thats taking my time
spending some quality time with youngest son

family are still safe and well, just keeping well
out of it.

lunch date sounds good, well you got my attention as
soon as you mentioned Friends, lunch and Jan sales

Good luck at the dentist, by the way John did tweet
at the weekend
nothing much, something about missing in action
so i don,t know if he is well
but he is alive

Ive just looked at the tweet...very enigmatic...

and the weekend in January would be fine ., but I don't really have a problem with leaving work and dashing up to London in December.....it might be exciting.

this holiday is just dashing by, iv e just finished printing out my latest jewellery project, but had to replace the paper, add a new toner etc....so a 5 minute job took much longer !!!

so is anyone going to be watching the last BB of this series tonight?

Glad to hear your family is OK georgy. Also pleased that you are spending time with your son.

Got the all-clear from the dentist but because of my fall I have to go every 4 months instead of every 6 - I also have a fragile tooth which is a constant worry!

Let's settle on January then for the meet up. How about the second Saturday and shall we still do Secret Santa? If you are interested, let me know by PM.

Sorry augusta, but I have lost interest in BB - don't think I've watched more than 20 minutes in total. The HMs haven't interested me and there have been some very good programs at the same time. I see the final is being split - far too late for yours truly.

I'm watching. So far the votes have gone the way I wanted - and any of the last three would be a worthy winner in their own different way. But have to admit to a soft spot for Sam

Sorry Augusta and Giddy, like nyannie I have just run out of interest in BB in it's current form

I remember the first series, the one won by Craig the builder, that was great and I can still remember quite a few of the participants. I used to enjoy the psychologists' input, and positively looked forward to the lovely Dermot on BBLB. Its sad but true that BB just doesn't grab my interest in the same way any more......

However, I am interested in this thread of course, and the people on it I have pencilled 11 January in my diary for a thread lunch and hope this suits everyone else Though I have to say it seems an awful long way away......

Best get some rest now. Sleep well JJAT

Morning all.

Hope everyone is well and happy.

Lots to do today. Meeting friends for lunch, trying to find something to wear to a Ruby Wedding on Saturday.

Have also pencilled in the 11 January. Hope everyone can attend.

O/H home today - we are having a 'heated' discussion about the cost of taxis to Gatwick.

Must away as I am now washing plant pots and need to take a shower and wash my hair.

Have a good day all.
