But I thought it was a really good look at mid african countries like Uganda. It made them look like real places, almost like holiday destinations, with lovely roads built by the chinese...which did confuse me slightly..... ![]() But then I like Top Gear......

Morning all
Hope we aren't all snowed in. Luckily we haven't had any snow although when we were out for lunch yesterday there was a snow shower with the largest snowflakes I've seen in a very long time. Freezing here - just went to put the rubbish out and everything very icy. Uganda did seem like a beautiful place ucra - so glad you saw the Top Gear. We really enjoyed it. My trip to London has been cancelled so will spend the day catching up with housework and researching places to eat in Paris! We have friends coming over the Easter holiday - very unusual for us, so will have to make some reservations. Don't feel like cooking. Best get on - wonder what John will be doing over the Easter holidays. |

Morning all
![]() Going out yesterday did me no good at all When I got back I could barely walk for the pain in my joints, and it's the same this morning. Tried to get an urgent GP appointment but none are available, so am waiting for the GP to phone me for a 'triage' consultation Have written everything down so hope I'll give him a good picture of the problem, without him seeing it.......(I'd laugh if it felt funny )Lindy x |

Hi again
Sorry my previous post was a bit dramatic! Have now spoken to the GP who will 'fit me in' at the surgery at 3.30pm. Poor guy sounded totally harrassed.....I found myself saying I didn't think it was that urgent Think it would have been better all round not to waste his time on phone calls, and just give me an appointment in the first place. Of course I feel much better, and more cheerful, now I know a medic will give me some advice

Hope you are feeling much better. Think I'd best make a copy of my pain manual for you. Hope you don't need surgery or anything.
Get well. Sounds like this thread needs a resident doctor - most of us seem to be falling apart. Doc thinks I may need joint replacement 'within about five years'.....however for the moment he basically said I had osteoarthritis (which I knew, of course) and that I should take painkillers every 4 hours. I really don't want to do that, but there seems little option at present...Also of course I do need to pace myself better. My body just won't do what I want it to so I need to be clear on my priorities and manage ways of getting those done. I reckon you're right, we do need a thread doctor! Hope you have a good week. Onwards and upwards!

I remember one of my professors in Anatomy telling us human beings weren't meant to stand upright. Prioritizing and planning are really important. Take care! |

Best get on - wonder what John will be doing over the Easter holidays. Ye,I was just surprised that anyone would think it is not a real place and Top Gear made it real lol.Top Gear just drove cars in a place that already exists.Although they were creating a TV show in terms of looking for the source of the River Nile, they were pretty good at a balanced presentation. Everyone knows where the source of the Nile is,at Jinja,Uganda's second largest city.52km and 1 hr from the capital Kampala. It doesnt take them long to get there. But it is a straight road and nothing to challenge the cars to meet the production of a Top Gear programme. I was pleased with them driving around the region possibly having a holiday lol. I dont get upset anymore by bad programes. What upsets me is people trying to find negatives to undermine the good sides.People just need to accept that not everything about Africa is bad and poor and that we are real. By the way, there lots of Americans in Uganda now, since that President Bill Clinton visit in the 90s.The Queen was there in 2007 and went back to Mweya Safari Lodge in Queen Elizabeth National Park which she opened in 1954 maybe. A tweet from John over Easter will be nice. |

oh I knew Uganda was a real place....it was why the roads were built by the chinese that confused me....And it was nice to see uganda portrayed in a normal everyday kind of way....not a region needing massive support etc.....
afternoon everyone are you feeling better Lindy....? |

Morning all.
Off to London later to stay with a friend so I don't have to leave at 7 to go to my pain clinic. How are we all? Wonder if we will get an Easter greeting - or a new photo from John. Have a good day all and see you on Friday. |

Easter this year seems to have arrived so fast. Its partly cos the weather doesnt feel very spring like .
Its good Friday next week isnt it? It would be sweet to hear from John, but he must be busy..... hope everyone is reasonably fit and well. Did you see poor Chantelle had such bad flu she had to be rushed to hospital? There are some pretty nasty bugs out there.....!!! |

![]() We had a hailstorm here yesterday which deposited about 2" of the white stuff! And some of it is still on the ground! ![]() Anyway in other news.....my arthritis is still bad and OH is going round to my mum's today to borrow one of her collection of sticks for me. Pain is a bit less , though I won't be able to take mum shopping on Friday, I'm not sure who'd be leaning on who!! Hope John takes pity and sends us a pic or message for Easter.... Have a good day all.... ![]() Lindy x |
