Hope John enjoyed his birthday and did lots of nice things. Wonder if we will ever find out what he did.

Been up since 6 - started to clean out cupboards. Boy is that a mistake. Foot bothering me so will have to put on brace to finish the job! Yuck! How can two people be so messy?

Off to London later for dinner. Better keep this brief so I will close.

and agree its crazy isn't it, how much mess can be created so quickly, we live in such acquisitive times..

My hairdressing appointment was cancelled today due to an 'extensive fire' at the salon!

So I'll carry on doing my impression of a wild woman.....

I should get on with some de-cluttering in the time made available......trouble is, I'd rather watch the tennis!

Have a new hero - saw Dan Evans beat the Canadian,Tomic, to get to the third round - fantastic! And the best part is......he's a bad boy from Birmingham, son of an electrician and a nurse.....now here he is at the US Open Could it get any better?

How are we all today?

Glad to hear that John tweeted. I bet he is surprised that after so much time - and so little news - people still remember his birthday! I know I would be.

Absolutely POOPED!!!! Had a wonderful dinner in London - really surprised at how exquisite the food was - and best thing was, we didn't have to pay anything! - well train and taxis.

Trains are so infrequent after 10.30. We didn't get back home until almost midnight so needless to say I am very tired - will go back to bed in a minute.

Back to bed for me (yawn yawn)

im glad you had a scrumpious meal out Nyannie. Its so nice to be spoiled once In a while.


Wow what a week, !!!! daughters car failed its MOT, Other daughter has sorted herself out a new uni house, but this needs guaranteeing, so tomorrow will be spent photocopying paperwork,, and im starting to get ready to go back to work next week, and have been busy washing everything in sight, and sorting out plans....

Its so nice to sit down !!!

for another week, the new building they are going to move into

Afternoon all.

I will be watching the highlights of the cricket as we don't have SKY. I am also going to wash the kitchen and utility room floors and sort out all the ancillary things we need for our trip. Tickets arrived yesterday and we picked up our money - and now Easyjet have said we can have bigger bags!

I've also picked out o/h's non-iron shirts and socks. Two weeks today we go!

Hope you don't work too hard augusta - you will need your energy for school next week.

Am completely amazed!

Was in the middle of helping daughter no 2 to throw together an Eton mess for a barbecue, when the doorbell went and a huge bunch of flowers arrived for me To thank me for doing a good job on the project report.....and I thought they didn't care lol

You really deserve the flowers - least they could do for all the extra hours you have put in. Enjoy them!!!!!

What a lovely surprise......its so nice to be appreciated.

And I hope the Eton Mess was eaten afterwards to celebrate.




So a new car has been organised, and mostly being paid for by Daughter, which is a relief... Im almost ready for school next week , and will spend tomorrow relaxing .


Im meant to be finishing cutting back the outside hedge, I started but we went out, so its extremely uneven at the moment, Eventually we want to demolish half of it, to extend the driveway for another car....But its one of those jobs like the kitchen that is on the 'to do ' list....and wont get done for months yet...


Lena how is your kitchen coming? And how long has it taken to complete? my OH has decided he is going to make the kitchen cupboards for me, to save money. which is lovely of him, but.......its being so expensive to buy tools and wood etc .....and I like sleek modern looking kitchens.....
So far we have 3 or 4 cupboards made.......
Its going to take months.....

Thanks I also plan to enjoy having finished it!

Augusta - that is one reason we now get people in to do things - we saved for 3 years to get our kitchen done - think o/h would still be doing the kitchen if we hadn't.

Have had a very unproductive weekend - did only 1/3 of the jobs I needed to do. Today will be a phone day - can't believe how many people you have to do talk to before you go on holiday.

Hope everyone has a lovely day today. Need to start doing those calls.

Nyannie how was your meal out, ? what did you eat and was it wonderful.

And I would love to save up and get someone in to do the kitchen............im trying hard to persuade my OH it is a good idea as well......


I actually start back tomorrow......so this week is likely to be busy, but calm down again after that.....


I had a look at my to do list for the summer, and most of it has at least been touched upon, but not enough time has been spent on the garden !!! or making jewellery, although I did go and buy some more beads today.... So I should feel relatively happy.....that most of the list has been finished ....
