afternoon all...

well ive had my first ever mammogram, what a bizarre experience, sorry to hear so many people are feeling poorly.

I spose it isnt snowing,

last night my sewing class had a lesson on Why the iron can be your best friend,,!!! after laughing hysterically ......maybe she does have a slight point....!!! Sometimes those tiny finishing details can make a big difference, although if you had told me this 40 years ago, I dont think I would have believed a word of it....

Even someone like Mary Berry and her exacting cookery methods have now become popular again... Im sure she wasnt taken that seriously years ago.....

isnt it strange how times change...?

We have light snow showers forecast for today and Friday, and heavy snow on Saturday I'm hoping they're wrong!!

Your sewing class sounds great Augusta - wish I was practical as well as creative like you

All the best everyone

Morning all.

Computer not working right. I have no idea what is going on.

I keep turning it on and off and it has wrong setting - email isn't great.

Anyway, how are we all.

Hope everyone gets better very soon. Had my pain class and two friends came along. Class ended very early so one friend and I went to Richoux on Piccadilly for afternoon tea - £18 and I got a discount with my RA card. Very nice - even got a seat on the train home!

Have a lovely day.

Walks into thread ringing bell and whispering unclean, unclean.
To add insult to injury I not only still have the sniffles, I've now broken out in hives. I look like I've fallen in a patch of stinging nettles!

I apologise for my state of dress (soft jersey pj's) but I can't stand my jeans or jogging bottoms round my waist. Had a nice shower and slavered in Aqueous cream and feeling a little more like my self now.

So how's your cold georgy, any better? I hope so.

And Lindy, how are your aches and pains? This weather isn't helping one little bit.

This place is fast turning into an upmarket hospital ward.

Bit alarmed at the thought of Lindy's hubbie running round the countryside with a shotgun. Are you going along to watch, I hope he's a good shot?

Nyannie, do you have Firefox as your browser? I do and downloaded the latest Adobe as it kept nagging me to do so. Now I can't watch Youtube and pics and ads are missing from sites, just blank spaces where they should be.

My son installed Chrome for me as a temporary measure until he can look at it for me properly. It's what he uses and it's much faster but I'm to be convinced. I guess it's what you're used to but I know where I am with Firefox.

the trouble with all these updates, is that they can interfere with whatever is already on the machine.....

it is so frustrating, I think the developers assume we all have the latest systems and latest models, not things we are familiar with and like.

There isnt any snow here yet, its just freezing cold.......brrrrr Lovey spring weather we are having....!!!

hope everyone feels better after the weekend. I love the idea of afternoon tea.....how civilised....What kind of cakes did you have nyannie ?

Lindy im sure your husband will be ok with his clay pigeon shooting, dont they take them out to places miles from anywhere....? Do they use real ammunition? I had a feeling it was fake, but then again I spose how would you hit anything if it wasnt real?

My older daughter was saying the other day she wanted to go paint balling sometime this year......which I believe is painful and can leave some nasty bruises...I spose its the next stage up from the laser quest games they played at kids parties. I would be a dreadful shot, and I dont like that kind of game...... I always ran away from even things like water fights as a child.

Hi all

Am amused at the idea (suggested by Lena and Augusta) of OH rushing around the countryside shooting things. I don't think clay pigeon shooting is like that........I looked it up and found it's highly organised:

http://www.intotheblue.co.uk/adventu...geon-shooting/

I've never been, and nor has he up to now, but it looks a bit like a grown up version of 'bang bang you're dead', using clay targets as 'pigeons'. Seems a bit of a boys' game, though some girls / women do shoot, obviously

Anyway, it looks likely to be cancelled now due to the bad weather (can't see the target in the snow!!). Boyfriend was coming from London but isn't now...Disappointing for them However, i'm sure they'll re-schedule before long and if so, I'll let you know how it goes

I'm not doing anything - no updates and no more new chrome or anything. I like Firefox and as you say, I know where I am. I downloaded Adobe 9. something and have had problems since. I need to take my computer into
PC world. Do let me know what your son does to your computer - in mum's language please. I don't understand things!

Well, how are we all today?

It has been snowing since 2 am here but luckily it doesn't seem to be sticking - thank goodness. Garden centre trip is cancelled.

I've made some vegetable soup for lunch - must grate some cheese shortly. I am so thankful we did all the food shopping yesterday.

O/H is in bed with a cold so I'm decamping to the guest room.

Anyway, hope everyone is keeping warm and safe. I really hope we get a message from our man in Oz. Friends in NZ have told me they have a very severe drought! All sorts of bans in place.

Hi everyone, still here snivelling and spotty and it's absolutely freezing.

This time last year if I remember correctly we were having the warmest March on record. Do excuse me while I vent......
I WANT SUNSHINE AND WARMTH!!!!!!

There are some nasty viruses going around georgy, I apologise for saying 'a cold'. Glad to hear you're on the mend.

No idea what has caused this outbreak, although speaking to my sister she says two of her grandchildren had the same thing a couple of weeks ago and her MiL last week, (never got to the bottom of what caused it) and disappeared in about a week. I hope it's the same for me as I look as if I've spent a week in a jungle with a party of rabid gnats!!

Sorry Lindy, had this vision of hubby dressed in plus fours and a deer stalker blasting away at anything that moved (I should say MISSING by a mile, I hate blood sports) while everyone dived for cover.

Have to say clay pigeon shooting has always looked fun. Maybe we should have a thread outing, we could wear our tin hats and nyannie could bake a cake.
