Thank you Lindy
but i think i,m also going to have to take
Your Elenour Rigby and Theres a Place for us

and then we have Augusta Somewhere over the rainbow

How can you fit all these great songs into only 8
and i've just thought of another one
what about Mr Bojangles
so i've decided it can't be done

wet and windy here
going to stay in today

I think the answer must be to work as a team
That way, if there are four of us, we can have 32 songs as long as we don't repeat any

You're right Georgy
Horrible day
Hope everyone's warm and cozy

I'm just about to re-start my book
'State of Wonder' by Anne Patchett

how many couples do they have this year.... so many

Julien mcdonald survived makes beautiful dresses but he can't dance ......
and what did they do to vanessa hair...... she deserved to go, for that alone
and lastly dear Bruce ....... i know you're a Tv legend, but have you ever
thought of retiring .......... for me.......please

I watched strictly as well, and was a bit sad for Vanessa....to be honest although I didn't see all of them, I thought Dave hairy biker or Julien Macdonald deserved to go.....It was nice to see James being so supportive towards her....

There are so many good dancers though this year...Its hard to be enthusiastic when the contestants themselves are almost professional......Its almost as if there should be 2 categories ......trained dancing celebs and untrained dancing celebs....

I watched Downton as well last night...the scenery and the house is fantastic.....

But I've never quite got my head around how this kind of big house, master and servant thing ....worked in historical reality? In these kinds of series it all feels very polite and civilised....so ....was it really like this? In the historical re enactment series....there was one a few years ago where various families took on the role of shopkeepers over different eras...living life as a servant, never seemed that much fun, it was just hard work, followed by even more hard work, then falling into bed at night exhausted, before having to be up at the crack of dawn the next day to start all over again....

but a bit of light entertainment /fantasy works well on a sunday evening, so I can see why it is popular........

Good evening, haven't been on for a few days as I too have been laid low by a really bad cold.

Feeling a lot better now but my eyes are so dry and my cheekbones ache and my throat is still sore.

Seriously.... this is a LOT better than I was feeling on Friday.

Still it's given me time to think about my eight songs, will post them later when the house is quiet.

Hope everyone else is feeling better.

Hi all

Sorry I haven't been on here much over the last couple of days. My only excuse is the the usual business of home and work life.....plus I have to admit to a bit of a fondness for the Peaky Blinders and Downton Abbey threads. Can't remember the last time I was so interested in two drama series at the same time! Will seriously miss Peaky Blinders when it finishes this week. It's a been fabulous! And Cillian Murphy is an absolute legend

Anyway time for some shut eye now. Hope everyone that's ill is feeling a bit better, and that nyannie is managing things at home

Night night JJAT

Sleep tight

evening all.........at least it is still sunny , although the temperature cant quite make its mind up, Im going from freezing to really hot in the space of half an hour.

I've started getting xmas presents!!!!! This is early for me, but now I need to remember where I have hidden them, This is usually why I don't get things too much in advance, I can be very inventive with hiding places...and then what i've bought ends up too well hidden, and I forget where I've put it, and have to go out and get something else instead....

At the weekend, I found a lovely pattern for a hat in a magazine, found a spare bit of wool and then spent the next couple of hours looking for the correct sized crochet hook.....I found it eventually on the bookshelf, where id put it months ago, Id tidied out one box, thrown most things away and left the crochet hook on the shelf.........!!!!!....

Now you've reminded me - there are a whole lot more I need - like Johnny Cash And 'Simply the Best' must be one of the best disco anthems ever! It's just as well we could make this a team effort

Got to go, busy day tomorrow

Morning all.

Back to the thread for me.

Off to London shortly so more later.

Glad to see people's desert island discs. I have just thought of 4 more, but do want to keep Annie's Song by John Denver. Reminds me of a wonderful time in my life.

Morning jjat

nice to see you back Nyannie

Nathalie great list
Let it be is a really good one
and of course Billy Jean (moonwalks across ones bedroom floor )

Well done Augusta on the christmas shopping, i have also started, finding good hiding places is always hard, mine are a nosy bunch
you are so talented Augusta, loving the sound of a crochet hat,
how pretty, but i love all types of hats

As for period drama really not for me, don,t watch any of them, really not my type of thing

but i did watch the footie and we are of to Brazil

Lena i hope you feel better soon , this flu type bug, does seem to linger , it has really knocked my sleeping pattern out.

well will be back later, few jobs to do
love to all xxx

P.s We could be in trouble with Muggins, not one Billy Joel song has been mentioned yet
augusta92
16-10-2013
well maybe muggins needs to give us her list as well???

Lindy where are you off to in London? I cant wait until half term, it will nice to be able to choose what I do for a few days.

Im a bit like a drowned rat at the moment, walking dogs in the rain isn't much fun!!!!

I m pleased about the football, but the radio was saying how expensive it is to travel to Brazil, and to stay there for the world cup......I wonder how many people will go?

I wonder what John is up to? And if he ever thinks of us in wet and windy England????

Evening all

Enjoyed the footie last night, it was a good game and we won!

Went to London today, got absolutely soaked and had to wash my wet clothes when I got back I need a nice warm evening by the fire, I think

Last episode of Peaky Blinders tomorrow. I know not many are interested - and the viewing figures have been low - but I think it's fabulous and am hoping against hope for a second series

Have a good evening all

Thanks we are not going to Brasil we had a change off coach to late. Not funny to take over a team 5 games before end and you have to win all 5 and still not be sure about going. We lost yesterday

Ali should make and post her own list if she wants Bily Joel in it
