Happy birthday Ucra x

Hi to everyone hope your all well x
Hi ellemay, hope you're well.

As you can see from previous posts it's a mixed bag of fit and well to decrepit.

Think georgy's right we need a thread doctor.

I'm not doing anything - no updates and no more new chrome or anything. I like Firefox and as you say, I know where I am. I downloaded Adobe 9. something and have had problems since. I need to take my computer into
PC world. Do let me know what your son does to your computer - in mum's language please. I don't understand things!
Well, how are we all today?

It has been snowing since 2 am here but luckily it doesn't seem to be sticking - thank goodness. Garden centre trip is cancelled.

I've made some vegetable soup for lunch - must grate some cheese shortly. I am so thankful we did all the food shopping yesterday.

O/H is in bed with a cold so I'm decamping to the guest room.

Anyway, hope everyone is keeping warm and safe. I really hope we get a message from our man in Oz. Friends in NZ have told me they have a very severe drought! All sorts of bans in place.
'Mummy language', the only one I speak when it comes to anything technical. I make him explain everything in words of one syllable while I write it down. ....as you can imagine it takes a while and I can only wonder at his patience.

Ohhh vegetable soup, sounds delicious. Is it very bad to admit I reach for a tin of Baxters?

I shall have to check on OH brother and family as their boat is in dock in NZ whilst visiting her family (she's a kiwi) and looking for land to build their new home. Oh, for just a little bit of warmth and sunshine....which is where I came in.....

Nattered enough, time to do some more clearing out (OH is in the loft and I haven't seen him for a while, better check he's ok.

Enjoy your weekend folks, stay warm.

Hi everyone, still here snivelling and spotty and it's absolutely freezing.

This time last year if I remember correctly we were having the warmest March on record. Do excuse me while I vent......
I WANT SUNSHINE AND WARMTH!!!!!!

There are some nasty viruses going around georgy, I apologise for saying 'a cold'. Glad to hear you're on the mend.

No idea what has caused this outbreak, although speaking to my sister she says two of her grandchildren had the same thing a couple of weeks ago and her MiL last week, (never got to the bottom of what caused it) and disappeared in about a week. I hope it's the same for me as I look as if I've spent a week in a jungle with a party of rabid gnats!!
no, you're probably right
good chance it was just a cold
i,m known to be very dramatic person
when sick

well i don,t know what to say about your hives
how very strange, are you sure
you didn't go to the jungle
wishing you well
and lets hope they disappear
well a lot quicker than a week xxx

afternoon everyone.........how are you all?

Ive ventured out to Tesco and taken the dogs out briefly, but today hasnt been a day to do anything much outside.

Its been snowing heavily on and off all day.....I wanted to spend the day wandering around town, looking at craft fairs etc, but it was just such a miserable day I didnt want to venture out anywhere at all.

So from the hottest March for years last year, to the coldest and wettest one for 50 years. what does this mean the rest of the year is going to do?

Another rainy and miserable year? I really need a bit of sun to cheer me up.....

although I wouldnt want anyone to suffer....

we could do with a lot less wet over here at the moment....

I wonder what all these climate changes will ultimately lead to?

Sorry Lindy, had this vision of hubby dressed in plus fours and a deer stalker blasting away at anything that moved (I should say MISSING by a mile, I hate blood sports) while everyone dived for cover.

Have to say clay pigeon shooting has always looked fun. Maybe we should have a thread outing, we could wear our tin hats and nyannie could bake a cake.
Sounds fab Lena

We do need a break....

And by the way that was kind of my impression of shooting, before I looked it up Think I have been over-influenced by Downton Abbey!

morning all.....how is everyone on this miserable snowy day. ?

I love the idea of us all going on a clay pigeon shoot......I would be awful, on those fairground games, and things like darts etc im either totally accurate or totally inaccurate, and ive no idea which its going to be beforehand !!!

Ive always thought those shooting ranges , beloved of films, where you fire a handgun at a cardboard cut out, and straw bales looks fun. Although I couldnt bear to actually shoot , or hit ,at anything living.

maybe id be better to sit quietly and sketch you all, or take photos for prosperity?

Afternoon all.

Snow/sleet/rain here at the moment. It is cold. I've leg warmers, socks, track suit and shawl on - central heating just doesn't seem to be coping!

It snowed until 5 pm yesterday but thankfully nothing stuck!

How much snow have you had augusta?

We did clay pigeon shooting (with lasers) over Xmas at the country house hotel we stay at. I found the rifle too heavy and it hurt my shoulder so I stopped, but o/h did really well and won a bottle of champagne!

Lena, I love your vision of O/H in plus fours. My o/h isn't very tall so don't think he'd look very good. I think it all started with Agatha Christie mysteries on TV.

Well, best go. Washing machine is bleeping at me. . .

Hi ucra, hope you had a lovely birthday.

BIB Beyond livid ucra, incandescent.
I have to tell you the air was absolutely blue here, I had to put ear muffs on the budgies

I don't have Sky F1 channel so had to wait for the BBC highlights, but I knew the result.

I'm so disappointed for Mark Webber, who has proved time and time again that he is a team player. He'd beaten Vettel fair and square with his strategy and in all the pitstops and then Vettel spat the dummy as usual.

Not only did he ignore team orders, he then went on to give the most disingenuous interview I've seen since Schumacher in his early days.

I noticed Red Bull didn't tell him to give the place back, but then as Mark said in his podium interview afterwards, Vettel will be protected by the team as always. Only have to look back to Turkey 2010.

I'm waiting now for the Red Bull BS that will undoubtedly play out in the next few days.

I thought the body language between Vettel and Adrian Newey before the podium and the exchange between Mark and Vettel was telling.

Just hope Mark calms down during this break before China and is still racing in three weeks time.

1st BIB Not just you augusta, I'd be no better. Which is why I thought we could press our old tin helmets into service.

Absolutely nothing feathered or furry.

Afternoon all.

Been very lucky here it's stayed dry but it's freezing cold. I've got the thermostat up and several layers on.

Just been watching Sky news and the terrible conditions in Wales and further north. So thankful I don't live up there, hope everyone's ok. The freeze set to continue till Thursday at least.

Bet John's glad he doesn't have to worry about snow where he is. I remember him chatting about snow in the house and then when it got cold here he couldn't stand it.

Don't know how tall Lindy's o/h is, my o/h is 6'1" so he might carry this look rather well.

Just seeing the terrible problems in Detroit, bankrupt and struggling to survive, and the problems in Cyprus. We are so fortunate here, so thankful we're not in the single currency.

Morning all.

You are right about the single currency Lena, I'm glad too.

uoh - snow flurries are coming down with rain/sleet. Hope nothing sticks. I have my class tomorrow and don't want to get stuck!

Heard the weather forecast last night - more snow for the end of the week. Must make sure we have milk and veg and fruit. We can make our bread. We have friends coming for the weekend so hope the snow doesn't stick. Getting fed up with this now.

Keep warm and dry everyone.

Morning all

Thought I'd surprise you with an early(ish) post

Freezing (literally) here too. Minus 2 degrees at the moment, and threatening snow flurries. Like you, nyannie, I'm really fed up with it now...... , although I have to say we have been very lucky, compared to people further north. Did you see those cars buried in snow drifts? And several people have died from the cold or flooding . So, on second thoughts, I think I should count my blessings and put yet another layer on....

Have a good day all

Lindy xx

It was heartbreaking to say the least. So is Vettle above Red Bull? It is going to be interesting how this turns out? In a way Mark is the winner in all this because it is now public what he puts up with

I had a good birthday
