Yes, general cricket rant...that's what I'm thinking too.

Are you sure you're not running a hotel, have you checked that someone hasn't put up a sign at the end of your drive?

Ugh, supermarket shopping....the worst shopping of all.

Have to admit I've resorted to internet delivery more than once. I order all the big bulky stuff and anything that doesn't need careful choosing. That just leaves a quick trolley dash round the meat and fresh produce counters.

My order arrives on day and time of my choosing and the only thing I've strained is the arm holding my tea and biscuits.

Have fun.
I,m going to check this out,
i,m starting to think, i might of been advertised as a cheap holiday stay, in some travel brochure.

i hoping they move on, by the end of this week

Morning all.

Wet day today - got some very bad news about an old friend yesterday and it really has made me reflect.

Still have tear in tendon, however, will wear brace until end of January and then gradually withdraw wearing it. If I have pain or anything, then op - but, I have to wear shoes with the orthotics in the house - YUCH!!!!!!!

Must go and get o/h up.

Be good everyone.
So sorry to hear about your bad news, hope you are ok

This tendon tear sounds so painful, and taking a long time
to heal, sorry to hear you are still having to wear the brace, i know how much you hate the thing, but if it helps, i suppose its worth it.

sending by best, and thanks for the pm, so looking forward to our meet

So the washing machine broke yesterday and flooded the utility room..........wet towels hanging everywhere is such a good look!!!!

But OH came home and fixed it....we had some hair clips caught in the motor....I hadn't realised until my daughter had to call the plumber for her house, that I am so lucky that usually my OH has the ability to fix things....it might take a while...but.....its probably saved us a fortune.....!!

I must investigate online shopping again.....I have done it in the past...but got fed up with the wrong things being substituted...but it might make sense to get the heavy things delivered...Im sure it is cheaper than me just popping into the supermarket for a couple of bits and bobs!!!
Lucky you,

well not the breaking bit, but having a hubby that can fix things,

mine can't hang a picture straight, he has to call someone in

never tried internet food shopping, i think mainly because i buy only fresh from the supermarkets, so i like to have a look, most other things i buy in bulk, but i do like the sound of missing that christmas rush

Hi folks!

Nyannie, sorry to hear about your friend - glad you can visit though.

Have had another 'manikin' day Not fun, but mad busy ....

Am looking forward to the Liverpool - Everton derby tomorrow Frankly I could do with a break, watching 22 grown men chase a ball around a patch of grass!! ( Did I say that out loud?!? )

Quiz night at OH's club tomorrow night, then off to Bristol on Sunday for lunch with friends. And no Downton Abbey to collapse in front of in the evening

And then it'll be Monday again......I plan to enjoy the weekend while I can! Hope everyone has a good weekend too

Goodnight dear JJAT

Sleep tight all

Lindy xx
Hubs got tickets, said it was a good match, if a little disappointing. Everton very lucky to keep all 11 on the pitch.

any more news of your house sale, my parents have also put their Bungalow up on the market, the pics went up, at the end of last week.

Morning all.

Guess it is the time of year, very depressing and reflective. Not at my best today.

No news of John - wonder what he thought of the 1st ashes test. Heard the Australian captain got fined 20% of his fee for threatening Jimmy Anderson. Really nice tactics. . .

Have a good day everyone.

Morning everyone, sun's shining but it's a bit nippy to say the least.

O/h is in his 'man room' trawling the internet and giving the third degree to any poor soul in a call centre, searching for the best price on house insurance .......think he's putting off the minefield that is the energy companies.... don't any of them have straight forward no nonsense pricing?

My lovely step granddaughter failed her driving test this week managed to hit the kerb while reversing round the corner (instant fail apparently) bless her. She hasn't done that since the first time she reversed so she's very cross with herself. My son has made her rebook straight away (think he's fed up with being a taxi service) and said he'll pay providing she promises to stay away from kerbs.

Gonna have to get my skates on and start this Christmas shopping lark, spoke to my lil sis yesterday and she's planning to come down in a couple of weeks to exchange presents and cards.
Oh what a shame, instant fail for a kerb hit, i do that every day of the week. Well i hope she gets it next time, and the test doesn't take to long to come through, she must be so disappointed, but wishing her well.

Surprised you say it was a bit disappointing.....the pundits were all going on about it being one of the matches of the season!?!

I agree, Mereilles should have been sent off

No news on the house sale, the pre- Christmas lull seems to have started already! Are your parents hoping to move locally? Hope their sale goes well

learning to drive is such hard work........lena I hope she passes next time...... but then again the price of the insurance afterwards.......!!!!!!

It was a beautiful sunny day here this morning...but now it looks like a storm is imminent....

We have sky TV back......The nice engineer fixed it all , so we can now see our programmes again...Ive caught up on the Sky portrait painter.....which is amazing.....There are some really talented portrait painters around. But its so subjective choosing one winner per programme. it must be really hard for the judges.

We also saw the Great Gatsby, which was an amazing film. with links to the story of the same name, but I think the film was more about the relationship between Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald with a nod to the storyline of the book. So I can see why some people loved it and others didn't...!!

I wish I had Sky - not only for the sport but their drama season looks very interesting.

Cannot believe it is almost Thanksgiving. I used to do one for my friends (mostly English) but since moving out of London it has become almost impossible. Last time I did it my o/h had to go to Basingstoke to pick up the turkey from one of our guests - and then I had to brine it and didn't have a big enough receptacle for it. My o/h cleaned out one of those big plastic boxes. Then the turkey didn't fit in our oven so had to cook half in ours and half in our next-door neighbour's oven. Really don't know how it was so good, but NEVER NEVER AGAIN (seem to be saying that a lot these days).

Forgot to say hello and wish everyone a good day.

Lindy - hopefully you will sell your house easily after Christmas.

Georgy - all the best to you and your dad. Grief is so difficult to cope with.

Going out to breakfast with a friend this morning so best get on - we are leaving in an hour!

Morning all

Another busy day today, preparing a new course and then going to see mum, who hasn't been very well. Will be taking her for blood tests etc tomorrow......

Looking forward to the Arsenal match tonight - they have always been my 'second' team after Liverpool - and still are, despite our rivalry in the league

Have a good day all xx

wow it gets dark so quickly at the moment.....!!!

Ive just had my email about studying all about Richard 111, so need to find a way to get back into this.......It seemed a good idea at the time, but just before xmas Im not really feeling. it.

I didn't realise Lady Mary from Downton Abbey was really an Essex girl.....isn't it odd when you find out these morsels of information...

And as for Nigella......what a story about her today.....!!!!!! My OH loves her cookery programmes, so I have seen quite a few of her programmes, and I must confess to feeling somewhat bemused.....Im kind of assuming the story must be true...if not the newspapers are going to be in an awful lot of trouble...But what an unlikely story...

I know. I feel the same about Nigella. I cannot believe she would be stupid enough to allow her daughter to take drugs. Who knows what is the truth?

I had some trouble getting on the thread this morning, did anyone else?
