wow it gets dark so quickly at the moment.....!!!
Ive just had my email about studying all about Richard 111, so need to find a way to get back into this.......It seemed a good idea at the time, but just before xmas Im not really feeling. it. I didn't realise Lady Mary from Downton Abbey was really an Essex girl.....isn't it odd when you find out these morsels of information... And as for Nigella......what a story about her today.....!!!!!! My OH loves her cookery programmes, so I have seen quite a few of her programmes, and I must confess to feeling somewhat bemused.....Im kind of assuming the story must be true...if not the newspapers are going to be in an awful lot of trouble...But what an unlikely story... ![]()

Morning all
How are we all? Had a lovely surprise this morning. Got an email from one of the people we were on holiday with. Lovely to keep in touch. No news of John I see - think he has disappeared into the Bush. Off to do some errands in town and then meeting a friend for lunch. Hope my bank account holds up. Last trip for me I think until after Xmas! See you later and have a lovely day. John Bates - hmmmmmmmmm |

don't talk about the bank account holding up........this is one of the most ridiculous times of year..and then my gas supplier wanted an extra £45 a month for the direct debit....Which seems like a ridiculous amount more to pay.
A phone call later and we have agreed a compromise ....£15 a month more...But that is really annoying, im really starting to think there are times it would be easier to pay quarterly than with a direct debit. I like to pay what I owe, rather than them holding more of my money just in case....And there seems to be a big gap between these 2 amounts. If I hadn't phoned I would be paying out far far too much. But how on earth do some people afford these kind of prices......We have 2 adults working, and still feel the strain..... |

Oh has anyone else found Goggle box on channel 4? It is a set up programme, where real families are videoed watching programmes from the past week. And some of their comments are hilarious. This week they were watching x factor, Im a celebrity, Countdown, Dr who, A star wars film, and a sea life documentary about killer whales.
Its just so honest and true to life, and so so funny.........so you got some very interesting comments about Rebecca Adlington and her nose and appearance from Im a Celebrity, ....Singing along to x factor.... people playing along to countdown at home, I never realised anyone would actually sit and watch with their own paper and pencil.......and some very confused Dr who and Star wars fans....I think my favourite discussion was which star wars film was being shown, was it the 3rd, or 6th film in the series....with about 4 families being unable to agree.... |

Typical.....anyway thought I'd use the time to say hello here ![]() Hope everyone is well....good wishes in particular to Georgy and her dad x I have been watching a bit of IAC, which of course you can do at the same time as answering the phone, writing emails etc Perhaps it's partly because he bears at least a passing resemblance to a certain Aussie ![]() Oops....got to go .....back soon x |

Hi again
![]() Think I'm going just a bit mad. Found this on the I'm a Celebrity board.....apparently the location of the "jungle camp" is "on the outskirts of the pretty well-heeled town of Murwillumbah (only a mile or three from the centre) in the grounds of a luxury tourist resort." Well, I never! ![]() Anyway off to get some rest before I lose my marbles altogether  Sleep tight all   Lindy xx |

I find this - and The Last Leg - two of the best programs on TV. My guilty pleasure is watching Four in a Bed and the Posh Couple on Googlebox were on the show a while ago. I have to agree with you about the Star Wars conversation - sounds like something we would have. |

I haven't really watched IAC - fed up to my teeth with Joey Essex and Amy. I agree with you about Vincent and Kian, but I also like David, Steve and Laila. Hope anyone but Joey or Amy wins! I'm back to bed. Have a head cold - again!!!!! Time for some Metatone methinks. Will have to cancel plans for the weekend. |

Okay, so now I am officially no use to man nor beast! I have a wretched cold, can't stop sneezing, eyes streaming, head aching, etc etc. we were having friends round for dinner tonight but OH has decided we can't inflict me on them
![]() So.....bless him.....he's cooking everything he can here, then taking it round to their place tonight. Expect they'll have roast lamb, and I'll boil up a bit of pasta if I get round to it..... ![]() I can't deny though, it's a relief not to have to try to keep up appearances tonight......don't think I would have succeeded anyway! So, it's back to bed for me with thanks to OH ![]() All the best everyone ![]() Lindy xx |

I saw the Dr on Thursday and I have swollen glands (using Difflam) and a nose spray. Only good thing - no housework! I do need to do some ironing so drag myself out of bed for a bit. Back to Richard Burton's Diaries and the rugby on later. See you all tomorrow I hope. |

Oh dear Lindy and nyannie - so sorry to hear you're both unwell.
Stay warm and drink lots of fluids and I hope you are both feeling better soon.I'm very impressed with your o/h culinary skills Lindy, mine struggles to put the oven on. ![]() I too have been sneezing since last night. I haven't properly shaken off the last cold. This climate most definitely does not agree with me, I NEED warmth not this damp cold. It makes my throat sore and aggravates my cough. Think it's time to double my dose of vitamin C.I'm beginning to think we should have a little bell at the door of our thread which we can ring warning others 'unclean, unclean'. ![]()

I was watching the last bit of 'Food and Drink' this morning and they were making the most delicious dessert - Oeufs a la neige, floating islands served with creme anglaise. My o/h walked past and said, "Honestly, the other day you were drooling over Greek pastries (Bougatsa) and now this - it's like pudding porn!"

I was amazed by Abby getting four 10's for what I thought was a pretty average salsa.....and I loved Sophie's Viennese Waltz, which got four 9‘s But then, what do I know? ![]() Hope everyone's okay today I am still stuck on the sofa but am hoping I can concentrate enough to watch the football later.....Take care all and have a good day x |
