wow what a day....the shops and the car park were horrendous....thank goodness Christmas only comes once a year......

Just watching Im a celebrity , and had forgotten that Mo from Eastenders is actually Gary Oldmans's sister, I knew they were related...but what a family.....

I loved strictly and loved Abby and Aliaz I think it was the energy that got them such a high score, Aliaz is an amazing dancer.....

I've avoided town, went for a pleasant drive through the country lanes to the garden centre and bought some gifts in their lovely shop and then home for three hours on Amazon and Christmas is almost sorted. Hurray!

All I have to do now is wait for the postman.

What are you making of IAC? I've been more than a bit disappointed with the editing, on the ITV2 show they've shown far more interesting and fun snippets than all the bitching about Amy and the Joey obsession.

They did a fashion show which looked real fun (including Steve wearing nothing more than a large leaf and a smile) and they didn't show it at all on the main show.
Apparently watching Amy and Joey playing pat a cake is much more entertaining.

How are those in the medical wing feeling today, any better?

We've had a bit of sun here today, but it's feeling really chilly tonight.

Picked up some squirrel food today for Elmo (named by o/h) in an attempt to deter him from emptying the bird feeders.

This is only the second time we've had a squirrel in the garden in twenty seven years - they usually stay on the Downs. I wonder if food is scarce or he's just stumbled upon a rather fine restaurant.

Good for you Lena shopping locally. Amazon has been my salvation this year. I have even ordered intimate apparel on it. I wonder what I did before Amazon!

I agree with you about IAC. I am sick to death of Amy and Joey (which I think is a set-up - evidently they knew each other before IAC). I really hope Amy goes. Loving Alfonso, Steve and David.

I am back to Dr this week - my glands are swelling up something rotten! Do NOT want to cancel my tennis outing on Thursday.

Wonder if John has finished his Christmas shopping? I have just had two long emails from the Aussies we met on the boat. Really nice.

Anyway, have a good day today - I am off to bed and then going to make some biscuits for our party.

So am I!! Guess we are the caring, nurturing kind.

Good to see you nat. Hope all is well. Are you making preparations for Christmas?
All well.

I'm getting ready to write my Christmas cards and then just wait until 24 to put the three up We dont do presents so I can relax until then.
But i'm not really a fan off Christmas its cold it's dark and if everything is as should be you have to toss a lot off snow out off the ways and make some room for Pika to go pee. She loves the snow but I hate it even more since I have her because she is 2 pounds every time she goes out Defrosting a dog for 1 hour is no fun at all

oh dear....I love the idea of snow at Christmas, but what a pain having to wait for her to defrost..........I spose she is too small to be able to do it for herself?

Can you buy her a special coat? just for the snow? then she can run around and have fun, and come in and take the coat off her????

lovely to see you around Nat, you have reminded me about Christmas cards.....I have bought some and tidied them away somewhere..............disappears off to go and look.......

My sainted aunt, what on earth have they done??

It's absolutely horrible, the font is ghastly, I've got empty columns down each side and it's turned from blue to a horrible grey.

The type is sooo small I've had to zoom it right up even with my specs on.

Did we know they were going to do this?

Isn't it awful?!?!

On my iPad I can't see the right hand side of the page at all, so can't multi-quote, nor go to end of thread etc!

And the heading takes up a quarter of the page.....and it's bright white...text too grey and small......just horrible, I can't think of a good thing to say about it .....AND now the heading is covering the emoticons so I can't use the 'angry' smiley.

There's a whole thread on this if you can find it.........

What's bad about the new format:
- Too much wasted space
- Eye strain
- Lack of contrast
- Doesn't fit properly on people's screens
- Nobody can find anything

What's good about the new format:
- It's changed
- You can save wear and tear on lightbulbs as the screen is now bright enough to light a room
- It now takes twice as long to read anything so you can waste even more time on the forum than before. Well, if you're still here that is...

People don't dislike change. They dislike stupid change FOR THE WORSE. And then managers excuse their stupid decisions by blaming "dislike of change" for the fact that nobody appreciates their changes.

RIP the green smilie, and the purple sad one, and ....most of the others

Our new choices are made of bland yellow custard and are almost as hard to read as the font in this text box.

Oh, am I mad about this

I can't find 'yawn' or 'sleep'

But I wish you all goodnight, sleep tight anyway....

Hi all

If DS continues to be as bad as this, shall we just share email addresses and be done with it?

I would be sad if we had to resort to this as I really like using the thread - but I feel as if our little club has been trashed by people in jackboots who would possibly be quite glad to see the back of us

I absolutely agree.

You can't read replies and I think DS doesn't want the small threads anymore. Too bad John won't be able to see how much we appreciate him.

Unless DS sorts out this appalling new
layout soon - I for one won't be bothering with
it anymore!!!!!!!!

Hi Lindy and nyannie,

I couldn't agree with you both more.

I logged on in the hope that they had tweaked the shocking mess that the forums where in last night, should have guessed that wouldn't be the case. Something's have changed from last night, are they making it up as they go along???

You really need to sort yourselves out DS, what an absolute disaster. No idea why you needed to change something that worked perfectly fine.

Guess you could be right, they just don't want us anymore.

The smilies are cr*p as well, what's the point of using them when they all look the same?

Thanks for the link to thread design Lindy, I take my hat off to you for even finding it. The only reason I've found any of my usual threads is because I've bookmarked them.

It seems to be universally disliked, I've turned the brightness right down as it makes my eyes hurt after a few pages.

I think email may be the way to go, such a shame as I've really enjoyed our little home here. It just won't be the same.

I've found a 'cry' smilie I think, though you'd be hard pressed to see it.

HOPE YOU'RE PLEASED WITH YOURSELVES DS..... AND YES I AM SHOUTING BUT I DOUBT YOU CARE!!!

Hi Lena

I really hope they can hear you shouting!! You're right, one or two things have improved, eg when I used a smilie just now I wasn't thrown off the post (not a lot to ask, is it?)

I suggest maybe we give it another 24 hours and if its no better, then go to email.....

ARE YOU LISTENING DS?

I wonder if anyone likes these changes:s
I was hoping that they would have started to solve some of them by now....

I too have too much empty space, on either side of the page and too big a gap between posts......and why have a different typeface on this reply box to that on the screen?

and I do not like loosing my favourite green smilies...don't they know that green is my favourite colour????

im happy with this.......but why did they do this? Surely the DS forums are one of the reasons this site is so popular.

I don't think its just us that are seething, and very upset and disappointed, so I don't really think its anything personal for us....
