Good morning, weather grey and miserable AGAIN!
![]() Sorry I've been missing in action for a few days, rather a lot going on here with o/h family and hospital appoinments. Very relieved to report that my tests have all come back clear although I've still got to have scan done. Beginning to think I might put a case forward to have this bit of 'redundant equipment' removed. ![]() ![]() ![]() so very pleased for you must be a huge relief for you and your family

I,m back
sorry to be gone for so long but what a week, i've had don,t like to moan on here but sometimes it just needs to be done ![]() so at the beginning of the week, son had a car accident on the M25 he is all safe and well, so thats all that really matters, and the car, well not so much, but it is being mended , so in the mean time , i've been doing the morning work trip and he has been getting the train back. I leave at 6.30 and get back around 10 ![]() Then we can move on to the wind and water damage, we have no back gate , not sure where it is, i think it, just blew away, some fencing and trees have come down at the back of our property, not really my problem the golf course people can see to that ![]() Friday son lost his glasses, he cannot see ..... Much without them, had to ring all the local and not so local opticians for a emergency appointment, finally got one( not so local for sunday afternoon) if there was a waves smilie, i would use it as this problem waved goodbye to my Sunday ![]() and now My Father in laws stuff, well there is mountains of it, yes Nyannie , you're right he was more of a collector, but had a bit of hoarder in him to. So things need to be looked at very careful, after all i have limitations, i don't read or speak Arabic and my little bit of french is very poor, and some of the things, i just don,t quite know what to do with. Take one Mink Coat from the seventies I would never wear it, it doesn't feel right to sell it or for anyone else to wear it, so what's to be done. As far as i,m concerned, the pelts should never of left the animal in the first place, just cruel ![]() I'm going to have to think about that one ![]() so this is just a few of the things, i,m going to moan about, i could so give you more ![]() but i,m now going to read back and see what you have all been up to i,m sure you will all, make me smile

Just watched 'Looking for Mum and Dad' or wtte, a programme about foster children waiting for adoption. Gulp!!
![]() If I were younger and fitter I'd be on the phone now.....it's just awful to think how many kids stay 'in care' because they can't for one reason or another be matched with adoptive parents. Anyone else see it? What did you think? On another note, the Sport Relief Celebrity Bake Off was quite amusing....Victoria Pendleton was really funny.....but she couldn't hide her competitive streak, even in baking! ![]() Am watching TV because daughter no 2 has been ill for nearly a month now with a throat infection. She keeps trying to go back to work, and it sets her back Think we'll be making another trip to the GP tomorrow....Goodnight all. Sleep tight. Lindy xx this year my kitchen calender is the great british bake off, it looks to have some great recipes for each month ![]() hope your daughter feels better soon, they do cause us to worry really think kids should come in packages, with warnings in BIG LETTERS on the front

Morning all.
I now have a grip on myself so I should be OK - I think. So pleased to hear that all your scans were clear Lena. It is so worrying! I am off to the GP shortly to see how my cholesterol is doing and also to see if there is any cause to all the infections and colds I've been having. Went to London and saw a dear friend. Made me feel so much better. Came home and friend next door suggested going to a movie - we saw AMERICAN HUSTLE - which was terrific. Really had lots of twists and turns!! Well, best go - need to get organized before the taxi - O/H was very late home last night so don't want him to drive me. give yourself time, its been a rough start to the year i've also heard good things about this movie must try and see it, pleased you had a good time

I am fairly open to any date at the moment...so just give me a time and a place!!!
We went to the France show yesterday at Earls court and although it was interesting the best part of the day was wandering through the streets to the V and A museum afterwards!!! We also saw the second Hobbit film on Saturday night which was brilliant... ![]() lucky you i am also very open to a week day, i think Weds and Thursdays are my best days though, but i can always move things around if need be

You could also try University College (SOAS) in London, British Museum or perhaps Oxford or Cambridge - all have Middle Eastern Studies. They could give you advice. Try one of the auctioneers - they do give free advice. We took a map in which we thought was printed, but it turned out to be quite valuable. Let me know if this helps. |

Afternoon
I am just taking a break after doing the laundry, washing floors and sorting through four files and shredding old bank statements etc. Then a friend came for coffee and I have had 15 telephone calls since 2 pm. I never thought I'd say this, but I am glad not to talk for a while! Anyway, once I have heard from everyone I will book the restaurant (same as last time)for the thread meet. Some roads still closed even though floods have receded. I am so glad we didn't have major problems. |

Oh georgy, wish I could do something to hehlp it. You could give the mink coat away to a charity or you could sell it on ebay. We have a man here who goes to Albania and Romania and he takes all kinds of clothes - maybe there is someone like that.

We have found, a little book, that belonged to my husbands mum, with messages of good wishes from her young school friends, with pretty little drawings in ![]() and evening bags beautifully beaded which i will use and keep safe, all this has been found today so in a way, its quite fun, just time consuming, but the pile is getting smaller

Hello all
![]() Am reading but have been too busy to post and make any sense! Love hearing about your adventures and dilemmas though....please forgive me for being somewhat MIA. I did watch some of the Murray - Federer match on Eurosport this morning. A deserved win by the Fed....much as I love Murray, he's really not back to full fitness yet, nor does he have the elegance of Federer. Other than that, I go from pillar to post trying to complete tasks and chores. Some of what I'm doing concerns mum, who needs more daily support....and by way of contrast I have to go to lots of social events in my role as a 'committee wife' Things get even busier in March, as i'm working most days then, so I think you'd all best go ahead and fix a date to meet. I'll come if I can, I would love to meet up again, but I don't want to hold you back At the rate I'm going, I might make our summer meeting.....![]() Have a good afternoon all ![]() Will be back soon. Lindy xx |

Oh dear Lindy
I too am getting incredibly busy - have to visit my friend in hospital, my friend who has just had serious surgery and is at home - and of course see my friends. We are such a small thread - does anyone think we should defer until Easter time - April? I know it is a long way off but the weather should be better then. Do let me know. |

Good evening, been raining stair rods this morning and the weather is not looking good for the weekend either.
![]() We could all soon float away. ![]() Went to the dentist yesterday and I've got to have five fillings, two of which are in the same tooth!! ![]() ![]() I've got two leaky ones, one broken one and two little ones that he's been watching for two years. With the exam and clean I had yesterday the total bill is almost £300!! Thank goodness for insurance, at least they'll pick up a fair bit of it. I was thinking of ordering my Paperwhite this week as well - might hold off for a bit now. |

lets try and arrange a date towards the end of feb if we can? id like to see everyone...
I had a wonderful sight this morning...driving in the rain....I drove past a horse and rider ...in matching bright yellow neon rainmacks...I had to laugh the combination of both of them together looked ridiculous...!! Ive never seen a horse in a rainmac before....it was one of those yellow blanket things they wear in the cold, but ive never seen one worn whilst they are being ridden. |

Lindy xx Agree that Andy's not yet fully fit and it was good to see Roger looking so much better than he did last year. What a transformation in his game too, really mixing up his shots and coming into the net. He is, as you say Lindy, so elegant. He's by far my favourite player. I think Murray would have had little left in the tank for a meeting with Nadal in the semi's.I'm finding it fascinating how the current players are taking on the older players as their coaches - Murray/Lendl, Federer/Egberg and Djokovic/Becker. |

Morning all How about end of Feb then - will send some dates via PMs. I love Federer and I am very glad that he has Edberg as a coach. I have watched Edberg at the Masters tournaments and he is as elegant as always - if a little slower. He is a master of the serve volley which Federer needs to preserve his energy. Funny isn't it though how the top players now are in their mid-late 20s rather than the wunderkinds of yesteryear. Edberg is only going to be with Federer for 10 weeks though - I guess 2 wks at each major and then another 2 wks somewhere else. I used to love playing tennis. Rotten feet and no stability now so I could fall!!!! Anyway, hope everyone has a good day. |

They're not doing anything illegal, though.....think we need to get more canny off the pitch as well as on it!
