I don't know how you manage to keep working so hard...as I get older work becomes more and more difficult...I just end up tired all the time, and I don't really want to go down the line of HRT etc.....

I think I just need to dose myself up on more iron!!

Id love to arrange some kind of date to meet up.....lets hope we can find one suitable
Actually I pretty well am tired all the time!! Still, I enjoy the work enough to make it worthwhile, and the money comes in handy too

Everyone's different of course, but I have to say that I found HRT wonderful..really I had patches and as soon as I applied the first one, I could feel energy course through my veins Trouble is, the GP won't give them to me any more, I have had them for too long apparently

I'm sure exercise and good diet is essential too ..each to their own! xx

I never went on HRT, just soya milk, oil of evening primrose and made sure I didn't wear anything other than natural fibres. My doctors didn't like the idea of HRT for me. Also avoided coffee.

Hope everyone has a good day today.

Think as we get older the main thing is to make sure we pace ourselves - and accept help if it is offered! We cannot do everything at once.

What's going on with John James these days? Not even any pictures? I'm a man and he has been my fashion idol for years but I can't keep up to date with what he's wearing because there's no pictures of him anymore haha

I used to have blonde hair like him and people would stop me and say I looked like him in the street, I didn't copy him but he had a strong influence on what I wore. I bought clothes all the way from Australia just so I could buy the same brand of clothes as he did, got a pair of ML Denim jeans and cap as well as some Kiss Chacey T shirts and vests.

Fan of his as a person as well, probably my favourite housemate ever. He is only about 6 years older than me but I guess I looked up to him a bit, because people said I looked like him I guess it gave me a boost in confidence....I'd love to see a video interview with him to update us all.

your guess is probably as good as ours. As far as we know John James went back home to Australia and resumed his old life....

he occasionally sends messages on twitter, that are fairly innocuous along the lines of happy birthday to people he has met, but nothing really apart from that, but its still nice to keep this thread alive...just in case.....

welcome along.....

.

Welcome to the thread. We had some pics of him on the thread a few months ago - think you will just have to trawl through as I can't remember the date. Seems to me that he has bulked up a bit too much and now has a tattoo (I hate them). He also seems to be wearing more vests (or maybe that is because they are the only pics we have.

Do join in whenever you can. John James appreciators are always welcome.

Morning all.

Sorry to put this on the thread but I have had more bad news about another friend - is it me?

Anyway, new dates - 5 or the 26 March. Let me know by PM which dates are best for you.

Just put out new food for the birds and I am about to do my bird watch for the RSPB. Seen a wren this morning - and a sparrow hawk but don't think these are considered garden birds!

So pleased England finally won a match. Wonder if John was watching it?

Hi

Funnily enough I was just about to say the same thing. Unfortunately we reach an age when our compatriots start to get ill.....or we get I'll ourselves I'm sure it's not you, nyannie It's a function of our age and generation.

Not sure whether that sounds any better, actually!

Seriously, I am sorry to hear about your friend and wish you and her all the best xx

Will PM you about the dates.

Just finished watching the Australian Open - felt so sorry for Nadal but Stan the Man really played out of his skin! Fantastic!

I am now getting back to Ark building duties - cannot believe how much rain we have had but at least no snow and the winds aren't too bad.

Note to DS - can we get rid of the annoying ads that keep interfering with our thought patterns. Due to the ads I am not staying on DS more than I have to to post

Ark building has temporarily stopped as it hasn't rained for a whole hour.

Off to Oxford today so hope everyone has a good day.

Good evening, great match yesterday and Stan was fantastic. Good to see someone new win a grand slam.

I don't see the ads as I have ad blocker on my laptop. I thought you did too nyannie.

No rain down here today thank goodness. It seems we've struck The West off our list of desirable places to move to, o/h is terrified of being flooded out. Being high up does have it's plus points.

Im getting the ads as well.....

I ve just watched THE JUMP about celebrities doing winter sports in Austria.........today they did the skeleton bob...and it looked terrifying. It was also really odd watching in real time and having to watch the adverts!! I realised im usually watching things on BBC or on catch up, so I can avoid all the adverts...!!

Hasn't the weather been appalling? I wanted to go out for a long walk yesterday with the dogs to blow some cobwebs away...but the rain wouldn't stop...!!!

isn't the forecast for tomorrow snow???

We have quite a bit of slippy ice? Snow/icy rain is forecast for Thursday.

How are we all?

I will be glad to get the funeral out of the way next week. Terrible! Haven't had an RSVP (for catering purposes) from about a dozen people so will have to start chasing up.

Must do some housekeeping today. I keep saying it but I don't know how two people can make such a mess. I took two bags of my de-cluttering to the charity shop. Feel very good - problem is there doesn't seem to be any gaps in the cupboards.

Anyway, take care all.

It will help when the funeral has been held
it seem to take so long now, my uncles was four weeks after his passing
i,m not sure why this is
sending love and wishes your way x

for anyone who loves art out there, this website is absolutely amazing....Just a warning, I wouldn't necessarily let children watch, some of the images are pretty gory.

I know......they are all kitted out in safety equipment, but it really doesn't look all that safe. And Id tend to agree, there isn't anything about a skeleton bob, or ski jumping that appeals to me either.

Tomorrow, I shall be mostly learning, how to set myself up in business... day 1. Hopefully it will be interesting and worthwhile. As long as this cold doesn't get any worse, I am sniffing and sneezing everywhere!!

I wonder why it does take so long for burials? its strange

I miss John on twitter regularly, I used to ask him what brand some of his clothes were and got a few replies off him. I asked him what make his brown leather jacket was and he told me it was Politix, as well as some of his vests which were 'Kiss Chacey'. I remember seeing someone post one of my tweets and his reply to it in one of these threads.

I get he probably doesn't like the fame and I don't blame him considering how things went down, but there's still a lot of people here supporting him and I think a Q&A with a video interview every once in a while wouldn't be too much to ask, people care about him and want to see how he's doing.

Come on John, we know you look on here! Video Q&A!

Georgy!

Did you see the footie?

Fabulous! 4 - 0 to us And the team played as a unit, with pace, skill and discipline......oh, I could go on and on but this is not a footie forum!

Wasn't it great, though?

Fantastic, Sturridge's lobbed goal for his second was brilliant. Only world class strikers get that finish just right.

Being from Merseyside myself it's fantastic to not only beat the bitters but beat them so emphatically, they are so annoying all year.....they have names for each derby...it's like their cup final.

I think the problem is that he got so much abuse on Twitter that he basically stopped it. I personally don't blame here.

We still support him on the thread but think that he probably wants a quiet life free from publicity - but who knows? Guess he will tweet when he wants to. Don't think he will ever do a video or Q&A again imo. You never know though.
