Morning all.

Weather has turned gloomy again!!!!

I just emptied excess water from my herb patch. Put it into pots I have.

Washing floors today and the bathrooms - then I will sit back and hopefully watch a good film.

See you all later.

I was just thinking, how glad I am in some ways that John James has just vanished...and isn't trying to play any kind of celebrity game or try and be famous...

that in itself is a massive success....well done to him...

Ive had a day of learning how to set up a business...it was very interesting...but.......I don't think I am ever going to be a natural business woman.

I cant ever see myself being motivated enough by money....only wanting to work part time, didn't go down too well!! But I did learn some useful things.

Couldn't agree more, Augusta

Glad you had a good day today too

Afternoon all.

Just got back from London - and guess what! More rain.

I was so cold and sodden. Have had a bath and changed into track suit to relax.

Looking forward to The Good Wife tonight.

Take care everyone.

evening all....I am getting so tired and bored of this weather.....

So who watched CBB and /or Outnumbered last night?

I realised I need to go and get a new outfit at the weekend for a party the following week, not a good experience..it reminds me I really should do something about losing some weight! and its hard to find clothes that fit nicely!!

Tomorrow, I shall be mostly learning, how to set myself up in business... day 1. Hopefully it will be interesting and worthwhile. As long as this cold doesn't get any worse, I am sniffing and sneezing everywhere!!

I wonder why it does take so long for burials? its strange”

Good luck,
i,m very impressed, i hoping to own a Augusta Designed piece, when you are up and running

I didn't watch CBB, but i did hear that Jim won, was he your winner, or did you like someone
else.

I,m not sure what you are looking for dress wise, but Julien McDonald for Debenhams, always
do a nice fit for all women, some of the stuff is a little flashy, but he has some very elegant pieces also. If you don,t want to wear a dress, he had some very nice all in one, evening pant suits.

P.s i,m liking the jersey black bubble dress

Morning all

First morning I haven't had to get up at 5.30 to get o/h up and out to work. Thought I had a lie-in.

Think I'm being outnumbered by the Liverpool Fans here. Wish someone else supported Arsenal.

Fairly quiet today - will try and read more of SNOW by Orhan Pamuk. Very good so far.

The Good Wife was wonderful last night - lots of pace. Watched the first hour of Witness (one of my favourite films) and then fell asleep!

Have a good day today.

I didn't really have a winner for CBB....but im reading about how Jim Davidson is really good friends with the guy who owns C5 , is his name Desmond...?

so Desmond, may have fixed it for his mate Jim to win.....or at least this is the rumour going round...

and in other news thank goodness its the weekend.....

I can think of something else.......like the weather....is it as rainy and nasty near you as it is here?

or of how I feel about the idea of keeping kids at school for 9 hours a day. Is this a joke?

Hate to say it augusta but I used to go to school from 8.30 in the morning until 5 pm - our terms were longer too - we used to start in early Sept usually 1st week), got 4 days for Thanksgiving, 5 days at Xmas, the same at Easter and then we finished in late June. No long holidays for us. Don't know what it is now though although I do know that our university terms are longer than over here and we do not have study or reading leave.

wow...term times are very different around the world.... although to be fair, I do think the school day is shorter than when I was at school, when I used to finish at 4!! So what time did you have to get up to get to school on time?

I am just starting to come back to normal after a hectic week and starting to catch up on all my emails etc.

I ve bought myself a lovely new cardigan, but it is now itching my neck.....if I try and wash it in something will it improve?

You're not alone nyannie, I've been a die hard supporter of Arsenal for more than forty years.

Disappointed we dropped two valuable points against Southampton in the week. Hoping Man City and Chelsea share the spoils on Monday night and we need a good win against Palace tomorrow.

Have a soft spot for Crystal Palace as I lived only a couple of miles from Selhurst Park and spent quite a few Saturday afternoons and midweek evenings on the terraces. My friend's sister lived across the road from the ground and we used to call in afterwards to thaw out with a hot chocolate before walking home. My o/h was also a Palace supporter as a youngster.

How much more rain can we take? It's been horizontal hailstones for much of the day and it turned almost black as night mid afternoon.

I swear I'm growing webbed feet.

Yes welcome Luke, not so sure about the Liverpool bit though.

So we've drawn Liverpool in the FA Cup.....I just knew we'd get one of the big ones lol. I was sitting there thinking we'd avoided Man City and Chelsea (that should be an interesting tie) and then they pull Liverpool out.

Morning all

Beautiful sunshine at the moment although we did get a lot of rain and some wind last night. Going out in a minute.

O/H finally painted the ceiling so now the damp brown patches look white. We have to paint the whole ceiling now with matt. The smell was awful and had to have some windows open! Glad that is one job finished! Well, almost.

Hope all is well with everyone. Enjoy the sunshine!

Evening all....

so what has everyone been up to? I think ive fought off the cold I was getting.

im looking at the news and getting incensed at the latest exploits of Mr Gove.....does he ever listen to anyone?

I do love the idea of making state schools better, these kinds of schools have classes up to about 30 children in them, with a wide variety of children in them from all sorts of backgrounds, some which value education and some which don't,

im sure they should take a lesson on how to improve themselves from the private sector, where class size is often 12 at most, with parents who are supportive of education and who are going to encourage their children to achieve as much as they can.

they both have such similar starting points don't they? And similar income levels and similar levels of parental income to spend on extras like music lessons, trips out, etc......

or do they????

Afternoon all.

In a gloomy mood after the funeral and hearing of another death.

Storms and wind has started.

See you all tomorrow. . .

well at least it hasn't rained here....

I have just been reading the Divergent series, which I really enjoyed up until the third book.....now I am left feeling sad and deflated!!! not happy..........

never mind......I think I tend to get too involved in stories and imaginary worlds at times.......rather than reality!!!

but then real life can be so miserable and gloomy at time.

At least I am going out to my jewellery class tonight......

im impressed by all the football fans......my favourite team is or was west ham, chosen years ago by watching a FA cup final and preferring the colours the team wore....closely followed by spurs, as they had the ground nearest to my home and I saw a couple of home matches there as a teenager. I do wonder why now football matches end up being so expensive, they aren't the kind of thing that you can take families to occasionally any more.

Although I would still like to visit the new Wembley, almost just to see what the stadium looks like.....

Very sorry to hear of your loss nyannie I know you will miss your friend but I also know you have some good times to look back on. Try to remember her as the wonderful person she was, if you can......and do look after yourself. Will be thinking of you

Morning all

My mood is like the weather - very gloomy.

Still can't comprehend things.

To cheer myself up I am going to make some chocolate chip cookies - will give them to next door. Have also decided to try and clean up once and for all - the study - will have to try and figure out where to put the ice cream maker that has sat there for can't remember how many years.

Hope georgy is OK. Haven't heard from her in a while.

Have a good day everyone.

evening all...

just back from Tesco......I had just got to the front door, when I realised I had lost my front door keys and had to go back to Tesco....only a 20 minute drive there !!!!!

Why do I do this with keys...

I think this weather is partly to blame for feeling miserable...we all need a bit of sunshine to cheer us all up.....
