As some of you may know, I've already completed a series of "My Strictly Come Dancing" and am nearing the end of another. I've re-named this for a brand new series.

It will run for 12 weeks with the launch show starting this Saturday. I was hoping to start it straight after my current series but can't because I'm on holiday when this series would end

There will be a few format shake ups which you'll find out over the next few days, as well as cast and professional rumours.

I hope you all enjoy my new series

Three 2012 Olympic athletes are the first names being lined up for the new series of Strictly.

The Olympians rumoured to be taking part are 55 year old equestrian Nick Skelton, 28 year old rower Tom James and 20 year old cyclists Laura Trott.

This comes after strong criticism last series that no Olympians were included in the line up.

The Daily Mail commented on these rumours, saying that Tom would be the early favourite, but Laura could be the "dark horse".

It has been reported that some of the contestants who took part in previous Christmas specials of Strictly Come Dancing are to sign up for a full series.

Blue singer Simon Webbe, who appeared in the 2011 special alongside EastEnders actress Charlie Brooks, who went on to win the special. Charlie also competed in the 2012 series of I'm A Celebrity! Get Me Out Of Here, which she also won.

Charlie has previously stated that she'd love to take part in a full series, as has Simon. Simon's bandmate, Duncan James, who is also a television presenter has also shown interest, despite taking part in Strictly's rival Dancing On Ice.

Webbe and Brooks join the rumoured list of competitors which includes Olympians Laura Trott, Tom James and Nick Skelton.

Tim Henman is the latest name linked to Strictly Come Dancing.

It is thought the former tennis player has signed a contract to appear in the next series of the celebrity dancing competition.

Henman, 38, has always said he'd love to appear in Strictly, saying in 2011: "Strictly is fabulous. I'd love to do it, learning something you've never done before and throwing yourself out of your comfort zone sounds really appealing!"

Tim joins the list of rumours, which also includes newsreader and journalist Louise Minchin and Waterloo Road actor Tommy Knight.

It was today confirmed that Faye Tozer will be taking part in the new series of Strictly Come Dancing.

The Steps singer announced her participation on Twitter, tweeting "Yes, the rumours are true - I am to take to the dancefloor xx!". A few weeks ago, It Takes Two host Zoe Ball revealed that a member of Steps would be part of the new series, but didn't reveal who.

Faye's bandmate Claire Richards tweeted support for Faye, saying "Faye will be on the new series of SCD - can't wait to watch her moves - we'll be voting!!"

The BBC announced today that the full line up will be revealed during Friday night's The One Show episode, which will be screened on BBC One at 7pm. The launch show will take place on Saturday, with the first competitive show on Saturday 16 March.

It was revealed today that the professional line up for Strictly Come Dancing will be having a shake up.

The BBC announced that Anton Du Beke and Erin Boag, who were axed before the last series began, will return, presumably leaving two other professionals in jeopardy of being fired.

Shortly before last series, Du Beke and Boag were given the sack along with Karen Hauer, who failed to impress on her one and only series. Former professionals Matthew Cutler and Katya Virshilas returned, and stand in professional Iveta Lukosiute, who partnered Johnny Ball when his original partner was injured, joined the cast.

The full professional line up will be revealed tomorrow afternoon.

The BBC revealed today that Bruce Forsyth, who has hosted Strictly Come Dancing ever since it began in 2004, has quit the job to focus on his retirement.

Bruce hosted both the main show and results show alongside Tess Daly, but stood down from the results show in 2010. The BBC told us that Daly will continue to present the main show and results show, but Claudia Winkleman, who took over the role of hosting the results show when Forsyth quit, will join her.

Strictly's companion show, Behind The Ballroom will also return, with shows on Monday - Friday, featuring the couples participating, guests, statistics and much more. Zoe Ball, who came third place in Strictly's 2005 series, will return to host Behind The Ballroom.
