The BBC today revealed that the Strictly Come Dancing results show will revert back to a Sunday, and there will be no dance off.

The corporation confirmed rumours that the Saturday results show would be axed, so that viewers would be given a longer time to vote. They then said that the elimination would continue as a straight elimination without a dance off, meaning the couple with the lowest combined judges scores and public vote would be automatically out.

The new series begins on Saturday 16 March, with the first elimination on Sunday 24 March.

The Daily Mail has today published an article criticising John Barrowman's previous dance experience.

The article claimed that Barrowman had an unfair advantage over the other competitors because of his theatre and stage career. He has starred in productions of Anything Goes, Cinderella, Robin Hood and Jack In The Beanstalk.

Barrowman's later tweeted in response:

"I have never had ballroom or Latin dance training. I'm on SCD to push myself and do the best I can.."

This comes after Denise Van Outen was criticised in a similar way when radio DJ Chris Evans said that she was a professional dancer and should be axed from the show in 2012.

Louise says she is hoping the public will see the party girl that is inside her, not just a woman told to look smart. She hopes her nerves will go away within a few weeks and hopes that her and Robin will go quite far.
